Sri Shiva Dhyanam – Lyrics and meanings

I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva along with Goddess Sri Parvathi, who is serene, decked in crescent moon on matted hair locks, he has five faces and three eyes, he carries trident/shoolam, Vajram, sword, spear and right hand on Abhayahastha posture, serpents/Nagam, Pasham, Angusham, Ghandam/bell, Pralayagni/colossal fire on the left, he has supreme brilliance, he is decked in crystal beads and seated on Padmasana posture.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva along with Goddess Sri Parvathi, who carries Shoolam/trident, Sarpam/serpents, Dangam, Ghandam, sword, spear, Pasham, Vajram, Agni and Abhayahastha posture, his matted hair locks decorated with the crescent moon that spreads intense luster, he has three eyes, he is decked in various ornaments, he fulfils all the desires of his passionate devotees, he is charismatic, he has smiling face, he has the complexion of paleness of crystal, he has five fives and seated on the lotus flower.    I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva along with Goddess Sri Parvathi, who has crimson color complexion, he is seated on the magnificent gem studded throne and decked in crescent moon, he has Lord Agni as third eye, he has smiling face that has the resemblance to lotus flower, he is smeared in musk of superior aroma and decked in various ornaments, he has lotus flower on his left hand that rested on the left thigh, one hand rests on the high raised bosom of his consort, other carries Veda and sacred scriptures, Dangam and bow respectively. I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva along with Goddess Sri Parvathi, who dwells on the peak of mountain covered in glacier which gives out the appearance of silver, he has white complexion, he is decked in crescent moon on matted hair locks, he is decked in various precious ornaments, he carries Parashu and deer,  and two hands in Abhaya Varadha hastha posture, he is enthusiastic, he is surrounded by deities who eulogizes his glories, he is attired in the skin of tiger, he is primordial, he is worshiped by the whole Universe, he destroys all kinds of fears and perils of his fervent devotees, he has five faces and three eyes, he is seated on the lotus flower.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva along with Goddess Sri Parvathi, who is seated on the Mahapadmam which is decorated with the lexis begins from ‘Ka’ to “Ksha’ as its petals, he has the luster of crores of full moon, he has attractive matted hair locks, he is serene, he carries Dangam and Mrigam/deer, two  hands are in Abhyam and Varadha hastha postures, he is decked in venomous serpents, Graiveyam, Angadham/armlets, garlands, and ear stud, he is attired in skin of wild animal.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva along with Goddess Sri Parvathi, who dwells in  highest of the peak Mount Kailash, he has fair complexion, he is decked in crescent moon on matted hair locks and his eyes are fixed on tip of the nose, he has three eyes, seated on the highest peak, he carries Dangam and deer, and another hand in Gnanamudra posture/imparting knowledge, one hand rests on the crossed legged knee , he has pleasant face, he is decked in venomous serpents across the chest as Upaveetham, he is surrounded by the Rishis and Sages. I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva along with Goddess Sri Parvathi, who dwells in the white lotus flower surrounded by its pollen in the Chandhramandalam, he carries Trident, Veda, Dangam and Akshamala, he has the luster of glaciers,  one hand in Panchakamudhra posture, he has three eyes, he has covered his chest with various decoratives like skin of tiger, garlands of bell, rudraksha, serpents and skull, he is attired in the skin of tiger, he is decked in crescent moon on matted hair locks, he is the symbol of auspiciousness and has the luster of crores of full moon.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva along with Goddess Sri Parvathi, who has three eyes which represents Lord Chandhra, Lord Surya and Lord Agni respectively, he has beautiful smile on his face, dwells between the two lotus flower, he has Pasham, deer and  Rudraksha garland on his hands, he has the luster of Lord Chandhra, he is decked in crescent moon on matted hair locks that spreads nectar like luster all over his body, he is decked in various ornaments, he has matchless beauty that attracts the whole Universe, he is Lord Pashupathi who won over death/Mruthyunjjaya.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva along with Goddess Sri Parvathi, who held two golden vessels filled with water above his head and pour down the water contained on his own matted hair locks, other two hands carries the water filled golden vessels,  and another two hands carries deer and Akshamala, he is decked in crescent moon on matted hair locks that spreads intense luster, he is  seated along with his consort on the lotus flower, he has three eyes /Thrayambaka and he is Mrithunjaya as well.   I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva along with Goddess Sri Parvathi, who has the stature of majestic glacier covered Mount Kailash, he has three eyes, he has five faces, he has bluish throat, he is decked in serpents and attired in the skin of tiger, he carries Rudrakshamala and vessel, and both the hands are in Abhya and Varada hastha posture respectively, he is decked in crescent moon and sacred Ganga on matted hair locks, he has ten hands, he is the Lord of the Universe and beyond perception.   I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva along with Goddess Sri Parvathi, I shall surrender to the lotus feet of Lord Pashupathi, who is decked in the garlands of Rudraksha and armlets, he is adorned in sacred ashes as Thripundra on forehead, constantly reciting the Panchakshara Manthra and immersed in deep meditation.  I shall meditate upon Lord Hara who has attractive features, attired in crimson colored clothes, he has pleasing face and beautiful nose, he is decked in various garlands on matted hair locks, keen to provide boons, and he carries Pasham, Ankusham, Gadgam and Kapalam.  I shall meditate upon Lord Neelakanda who has the brilliance of crores of Adithya at the dawn, he carries the lustrous crescent moon on matted hair locks, he is decorated with the venomous serpents as ornaments, he carries Japamala, trident, Kapala, Gadgam in four hands, he has three eyes, he has radiant five faces, he is charismatic attired in tiger skin and he is seated on the lotus flower.  I shall meditate upon Lord Pashupathi who is wielded in powerful Pashupathasthra, he has the radiance of Lord Adithya in the noon, he is decked in crescent moon, he has three eyes, he is decked in venomous serpents as ornaments, his hair has the resemblance to colossal fire, he carries, trident, Mulgaram, sword and Shakthi, he is the Lord of the Universe, he has fierce teeth and four faces.    I shall meditate upon Lord Mahesha, who carries Kudaram and deer, both the hands in Varadham and Abhaya hastha posture, he is ever pleasing, he is decked in various ornaments, he is attired in skin of tiger, he is seated on lotus flower, he is smeared in various fragrant musk, he has five faces and three eyes, he is decked in crescent moon on his magnificent crown.    I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Parameshwara who has the complexion of precious yellow metal, he is seated on the Padmasana posture under the Kalpavruksha, he is seated along with his consort Goddess Sri Parvathi whose high raised bosom constantly touches his chest, he is decked in various precious ornaments, he carries Parashu and deer, and both the hands in Abhaya Varadha hastha posture, he has four hands and three eyes, he is decked in crescent moon, Lord Subramanya/Guha and Lord Ganesha/Gajavadhana on both the sides.  I shall meditate upon Lord Parvatheesha who is seated along with Goddess Sri Parvathi on his left, one of his hands rests on the cross legged knee and other one rests on the high raised bosom of Goddess Sri Parvathi, he is decked in various ornaments, he is attractive, he carries Parashu and deer, one hand in Varadha hastha posture, he has luster of precious yellow metal, he has the attractive physique and luster of Lord Kamadeva, he is seated on Padmasana along with Goddess Sri Parvathi.   I shall meditate upon Lord Parameshwara along with Goddess Sri Parvathi  who is decked in venomous serpents, Lord Chandra and Ganga on matted hair locks, his lotus feet are worshiped and prostrated by the deities, he has three eyes, he carries serpents/ Bhujaga, Parashu, trident, Gadgam, Vahni, Kapalam, Sharam and dhanush/bow and arrow, he is serene.  I shall meditate upon Kirathamoorthi who has the complexion of dark clouds, he carries colossal fire which destroys the darkness of ignorance and evil effects of Kali, he is decked in crescent moon on matted hair locks, he has attractive luster on his face, he is wielded in bow and arrow, he is the provider of abundance of boons like Kalpavruksha to his passionate devotees, he is in the form of fierce hunter, I shall earnestly pray to Sriparvathipathi to provide us all the auspiciousness.    I shall meditate upon Sri Parvathi Vallabha/Kirathamoorthi, who conquered Arjuna in the battle and appeared before him in his original form due to intense compassion toward him, his one hands rests on the shoulder of Goddess Sri Parvathi and other one carries bow and arrows, he is charismatic and has the complexion of dark clouds, he destroys all the grief, sorrows and perils of his passionate devotees.  I shall earnestly pray to Kirathamoorthi to protect us.
