I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva who is prime deity wielded in Mount Meru as bow, he is the Lord of Lords, he symbolizes Atharvaveda and Samaveda, his eyes represents thousands of Rig Veda hymns, his hands and legs  represents Yajurveda, he is highly confidential dwells in the sacred scriptures, he has supreme radiance, he is all pervading, he is unfailing, he is compassionate to his worshiper, he is easily attainable to his worshiper, he is mesmerizing, he is compassionate, he is beloved to all, he has the luster of precious golden yellow metal, he is supreme bliss and provider of happiness to worshiper, he is the cause of lotus like Universe, he is eternal, he is primordial who symbolizes salvation, he symbolizes Yajja/fire sacrifices and he is worshiped with Yajja, he represents night hours, Kali era, Time, and fortune, he is worshiped by Yama, he is surrounded by Ganas and he classified the Ganas into various categories, he is the charioteer of souls, he is smeared in sacred ashes, he guards the living beings with the sacred ashes, he is supreme ascetic smeared in sacred ashes all over his body and he is followed by the Ganas smeared in ashes, he is the protector of Universe and its living beings, he is supreme spirit/magnanimous/eminent/powerful/noble, he is worshiped by all, he is pure, he has fair complexion, he is surrounded by Bhoothaganas, he has established the Ashramadharma and righteous deeds, he is the commander of the Universe, he represents various branches of philosophies, he have red lips and has the luster of lotus flower, he is constant, he has the complexion of reddish brown and white as well, he is beyond description, he represents celestial Gandharvas, he is boundless, modest and most desirable, he is wielded in Parasu/vicious weapon/axe, he is too passionate towards his ardent devotees, he holds Thumbaveena/string instrument/Rudraveena, he can be wrathful too, he strictly follows chastity, he abides/reclines/Yoganidra/ in water, he is fierce, he represents illustrious clan and causes the growth of famous clan, he represents the melodious sounds of flute, he is virtuous, he have attractive limbs, he is great illusionist, he is kind hearted/well- disposed, he symbolizes wind and fire.

Sri Lingodhbhava Sthothram was composed by Sage Vashishta, praising the splendor of Lord Shiva embodied as Lingamoorthi would bring union with the supreme Lord Shankara who is the source of liberation from repeated births, he is  unblemished and not perceivable through senses, and he is absolute Bhramam.

Lord Agni speaks “ Sage Vashishta eulogized the matchless glories of Lord Shambhu who is the consort of Goddess Sri Parvathi, he immensely  pleased the Lord, eventually attained various boons.”

I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva who  gets  pleased easily, he represents pleasant dreams, he has won over internal as well as external enemies, he is the essence of Veda, he symbolizes sacred hymns, he is scholarly, he afflicts with excruciating pain on enemies in the battlefield, he dwells in the dark clouds, he is Mahaghora/fiercesome, he entices the Universe and its living beings, he represents flames/Agnijvala, he represents Mahajvala/colossal fire, Mahadhoomra/colossal smoke, he represents fire sacrifices and offerings to the fire sacrifices, he is vigorous, he symbolizes auspiciousness, he is Varchasvin/ ever enthusiastic, he symbolizes Dhoomakethana/fire, he is Neela/blue complexioned, he is splendid, he is unrestrained, he bestows happiness, he is supreme bliss, he graciously accepts oblation from fire sacrifices, he proportionately divides the offerings of fire sacrifices, he has subtle form, he is closest associate to his worshiper, he have great limbs, he engulf the Universe and its living beings at the time of deluge and preserve them, he has dark color complexion, he has the complexion of precious yellow metal, he represents sensory organs and all parts of  human body, he have great feet and arms, he has great stature, he has great fame, he has great forehead, he represents great measure, he have great eyes, he is the slayer of Lord of death, he has great ears, he have great lips, he has powerful jaws, he has great nose, he has great shaped neck, he merrily dwells in the cremation grounds, he has attractive broad chest, he dwells as Athman in living beings and he dwells in animals too, he assumes the ferocious form with long dangling lips during the hours of deluge, he is great illusionist, he is Payonidhi who embodied as milky ocean, he have very sharp teeth and big tongue, he have great face, he have fierce nails, bodily hairs, kosha/sheath and Jada/matted hair locks, he is pleasing, he is compassionate, he is supreme consciousness, he has mountain peak as instrument/Mount Meru as bow, he is closest associate to his passionate devotees and remains detached, he is unconquerable, he is supreme ascetic who contemplate in silence, he symbolizes sacred trees, he represents Vayu/wind and Anala/fire.
