Lord Krishna continues “ Oh! Parththa Adithyavinasya/homage with particular gestures to Lord Adithya is difficult obtain even for the deities, therefore whoever follows them with utmost faith and devotion would attain highest of the merits,  Oh! Arjuna, listen to me carefully,  recitation of these sacred verses will release the worshiper from the sins committed due to Kama/worldly desires, and Krodha/wrath,  fear of serpents and fear in the battlefields,  fear of confrontation with the enemies and fear of smugglers, Oh! Arjuna, whoever reads or listens to the Nyasa during the hours of dawn, noon and dusk would be relieved from severe perils and miseries, it removes outburst of small pox and deadly fever, and illnesses related to brain cells, eyes, and all kinds of illnesses, it eradicates the leprosy and various skin diseases.   Adithya who is the essence of Veda is highly propitious, he is the Lord of the Universe, Adithya is supreme Lord Parameshvara, and Lord Adithya is worshiped by Lord Bhrama and Lord Shiva Oh! Arjuna, Adithya illuminates the whole Universe with his radiance and it the source of my brilliance too.   Lord Adithya is Bhuvaneshvara/Lord of the Universe, he is all pervading,  Oh! Arjuna, whoever worships Lord Surya thrice a day during the hours of dawn, noon and dusk, and whoever recites his sacred hymns, it is definite that the worshiper will not face miseries and sorrows of poverty in all his births. Oh! Parththa, listening to the glorious verses of Adithya would liberate the worshiper from all kinds of sins; ultimately worshiper would reside in the abode of Lord Surya.”

Sri Adithyahridhaya Sthothra is highly auspicious hymns has Sri Krishna as Rishi, it has Sooryathma Thribhuvaneshvara as presiding deity, Anushtup as Chandhas, Harithahayaratham Dhivakaram Ghrinirithi as Beejam, I shall prostrate before  divine personified as Jithavaishvanara who is originated from Veda as Shakthi, I shall prostrate before  divine personified as  Adithya as Keelakam, Agnigarbhadevatha as Manthra, I shall prostrate before divine personified as Adhithya, it is recited to please Sooryanarayana.

 I shall recite the sacred syallable ‘Om Hram’ and offer salutation with my thumb, I shall recite the sacred syllable “ Om Hreem’ and offer salutation with my index finger, I shall recite the sacred syllable “ Om Hroom’ and offer salutation with my middle finger, I shall recite the sacred syllable “Om Hraim” and offer salutation with my ring finger, I shall recite the sacred syllable “Om Hraum” and offer salutation with my  little finger, I shall recite the sacred syllable  “Om Hra:” and offer salutation with my palm and back of the palm, I shall recite the sacred syllable “ Hram” and  offer salutation with my heart, I shall recite the sacred syllable “ Om Hreem’ and offer salutation with my head, I shall recite the sacred syllable “Om Hroom” and offer salutation with my tuft, I shall recite the sacred syllable “Om  Hraim” and assume it as sacred armor, I shall recite the sacred syllable “ Om Hraum’ and  offer salutation with my eyes, I shall recite the sacred syllable “Om Hra:” and assume it as divine Asthra, I shall recite the sacred syllables “ Om Hram, Hreem, Hroom, Hraim, Hraum, Hra:" and offer homage to all the directions.

 I shall prostrate before supreme Lord  who is Vishvachakshu /watchful, eye of the Universe, he has supreme radiance, he has pleasing disposition and attractive hair locks, he is Bhasvan who illuminates the whole Universe with his light, he has intense radiance, he carries lotus flowers in hands, he has the complexion of precious yellow metal, he spreads intense luster, he resides as one of the eminent planet in the Grahamandala, he is too compassionate, he is the provider of permanent happiness, he is worshiped by Lord Hari and Lord Hara.


I shall meditate upon Lord Adithya who is consecreted on the eight petaled lotus flowers which symbolizes the sacred syllable ‘Om’, he represents seed of illusion which consists of Yanthra installed on the edge of eight petals, he has numerous sacred names as Adithya, Bhaskara, Bhanu, Ravi Surya, Dhivakara, Marthanda, Thapana, Chethi/most conspicuous dwells on the eight petaled lotus flower, he is Deeptha who illuminates the whole Universe with his brilliance, Sookshma who has subtle form, Jaya who is Victorious, Bhadhra who is auspicious, Vibhoothi/wealth, prosperity welfare, mighty, Vimala/pure, unblemished, Amogha/unfailing, efficacious, Vidhyutha/radiant, Chethi/conspicuous, he symbolizes auspiciousness, he  is watchful and facing all directions, he is all pervading, he is omnipresent, he represents all the living and non-living and he is the source of the same, he is the Lord of Universe and  all the living beings, he dwells as soul in living beings, I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Adithya who witnesses all the deeds in the Universe, he resides as soul in living beings and he is the source of action, he undertakes the function of creation and preservation of Universe and its living beings, he is promising, he is the ultimate heaven, I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Bhaskara.

I shall repeatedly prostrate before  supreme Lord Vibhavasu, he dwells as soul in living beings, he is Bhanu who is mounted on the chariot drawn by seven horses, he is eternal who is wielded in supreme power, he is the provider of Bhukthi/devotion and Mukthi/liberation from repeated births, as well. Sage Shathanik speaks “ Oh! Dhivjoththama/illustrious Bhramin/twice born, kindly narrate the splendor of Lord Adithya, Oh! Vipendhra/eminent Bhramin, I shall surrender to you, I would like to listen from you.”


Sage Sumantha speaks “ Oh! Mahathmana/noble minded, It was previously narrated by supreme Lord Krishna who is wielded in Shankha Chakra and Gadha, to  Arjuna who reverentially prostrated before him.  It was just before the commencement of great war of Mahabharatha in the sacred land of Kurukshethra.”


Arjuna speaks “ Oh! Krishna, who is proficient in all Dharmashasthras of highly confidential, source of living beings, Oh! Madhava, kindly narrate the sacred hymns praising the glories of Lord Surya with Nyasa, Oh ! Devesha, kindly enlighten with the knowledge of glorious myths of Lord Surya, Oh! Yadhava, kindly initiate sincere devotion to Lord Surya and veneration of Surya, I would like to hear the legends of Surya from you.”


Lord Krishna speaks “Oh! Pandava, Lord Rudra and all the deities have already described the glories myths of Lord Surya, Oh! Arjuna, carefully listen to me,  I shall narrate the hymns of Lord Surya with Vinyasa/in order, therefore kindly listen to me with utmost attentiveness  I shall narrate them in order from the beginning to end.”


Arjuna speaks “ Oh! Narayana,  Oh! Surashreta who is illustrious among deities, I shall follow your advice, Oh! Mahayasha/most celebrated, Oh! Sanathana/eternal, kindly narrates the glories of Lord Adithya.”


Lord Krishna begins “ Oh! Partha, who is saintly, highly intellectual and has  powerful arms, I shall bring you close to the most beneficent/pure, sinless, purifying, sacred Vibhavasu/Surya who symbolizes all kinds of auspiciousness, capable to eradicates all severe sins and illnesses, and provides long and healthy life, Oh! Parththa, listen to the Adithyahrudhya, he is the destroyer of enemies, he provides victories in battle field, he augment wealth and virtuous offspring.  Whoever listens or recites to these glorious verses remain sinless and famous in three worlds, Oh! Arjuna, he is Devadeva /Lord of Lords should be worshiped in the early hours of dawn, all the impediments will get destroyed the moment you remember him, you should work hard to invoke Lord Surya and Adithyahridhayam should be recited  or listen on daily basis, these hymns are highly propitious, it will eradicate miseries of poverty and severe illnesses like leprosy, it is capable to provide various supernatural powers, these sacred hymns have precise Rishi, Chandhas, Devatha and Shakthi, Oh! Mahabhaho who have powerful arms,  I shall narrate to you elaborately about the  highly confidential Nyasa and all Shasthras. I shall narrate one of the superior hymns to you.”

The following are the twelve sacred names/Dhvadhashanama of Lord Adithya, firstly Adithya, secondly Dhivakara, thirdly Bhaskara, fourthly Prabhakara, fifthly Sahasramshu, sixthly Thrilochana, seventhly Haridhvasha, eighthly Aharpathi, ninthly Dhinakara, tenthly Dhvadhashathmaka, elventhly Thrimoorthi, and twelfthly Soorya.


|| Phalashruthi: ||

Whoever recites or listens to the above twelve sacred names of Lord Adithya during the early hours of dawn, would be relieved from nightmares and all kinds of miseries and sorrows, worshiper would be relieved from severe skin diseases and kind of leprosy, it eradicates the sufferings of poverty, and it provides  abundance of pieties of holy dip in sacred ponds and it will fulfil all the desires of the worshiper, whoever reads or listens to the above sacred names of Lord Adithya would attain happiness and good health, ultimately liberation from repeated births.

Adithyahrithya Sthothra is highly propitious hymn has Lord Srikrishna as Rishi, Anushtup as Chandhas, presiding deity is Sooryanarayana, it has Harithahayaratham/chariot pulled by seven green horses Dhivakaram and Ghrinirithi as Beejam,  I shall prostrate before the divine personified from the sacred Veda as Jithavaishvanara as Shakthi, Amshuman as Keelakam, Agni Karma as hymns , it is recited to get rid of all kinds of illnesses and to please Lord Sri Sooryanaraya.
