Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mortals, the rarest birth as humans have obtained after the pieties of several births, if it was not utilized wisely to achieve the ultimate object, that is Bhagavathprapthi /nearness to Lord, it would push you to the cycles of repeated births in the different Yonis of birds, animals, reptiles, humans, etc. and constantly undergo the sufferings and grief of worldly existence. Oh! Mortals, you have failed to worship Lord Sri Govinda, you have been drenched in worldly matters of infinite sounds, touch, passion, smell, appearances, and tastes, which were constantly driven you into deep misery and grief, eventually hurled you into repeated births in different wombs. Oh! Mortals, you have taken great pleasure in material and physical well-being, killed several lives while chasing physical and material pleasure, and spent most of your life nurturing and decorating your body without the knowledge of ‘All the material matters are perishable’. How do you get rid of the accumulated sins committed by word, mind, and deed? You have not tired of committing sins due to desires, lust, greed, anger, jealousy, pride, Ahamkara, and Mamakara. Oh! Mortal, you haven’t fruitfully utilized the three important phases of life such as Balyavastha/childhood, Kaumaravastha/adulthood, and Youthfuldays/Yuvavastha, finally, you have arrived at the later years of age, and waiting for the time to depart from the world, the noose of death is so close to your neck, hence you are experiencing extreme difficulty in leaving the Prana/vital air.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mind, you have wasted the rarest birth as a human achieved after the pieties of several births, you haven’t practiced the devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari, all that you have done is fulfilling your physical and material needs, you were chasing after wealth, money, possession, richness, fame, wife, children, companion, relatives, etc. day and night, you were drenched in lust, desire, ego, pride, jealousy, anger, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, etc. in this way you have wasted entire life. Finally, the later years of age have arrived, the sufferings of illnesses, aging, fear of death, the grief of separation from beloved ones pushed you to extreme agony, and the practice of devotion, austerities, Shama, Dhama, Sathyam, Dhaya, Dhanam, Ahimsa, Astheyam, Arjjavam, Swadhyaya, celibacy, association with the Santh, Mahathma, noble souls, etc. has become impossible, how could you attain welfare afterlife?  You haven’t practiced devotion to achieve nearness to Lord Sri Hari. The time has elapsed, and the noose of death/Lord Yama is getting closer to you, what’s the use of shedding tears looking at the people surrounded at your death bed? Oh! Mortals, it is impossible to get rid of the grief and sufferings of worldly existence, and the repeated cycles of births, without the practice of singing in praise of Lord Shyamsundar.  Now, the enthusiastic youthful days have gone, the later years of age have arrived, the limbs have become fragile and not cooperating with the mind, the movements have become restricted, the breathing has become difficult, the air passage become tiresome, and the need to depend on others to perform the daily task has increased, unfortunately, the youthful days were spent on chasing after material and physical pleasure, hence keep stumbling to the mouth of death.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mind, abandon the association of immoral and wicked people drenched in worldly matters of possession, wealth, money, richness, fame, wife, children, companion, and relatives, and the people swollen with pride, jealousy, anger, lust, desire, ego, etc. They would definitely create obstacles in the practice of devotion, and singing in praise of Lord Sri Hari, the association with those kinds of people would be like feeding the serpent with the milk, will it help in any way? The serpents cannot abandon their toxic poison, one day or the other they would cause harm to you.  Oh! Mind, there is no use to spray rich fragrance on the crow, because the crow cannot change the tune of its crowing, or dog cannot be purified by giving a dip in the sacred waters of Ganga, or the donkey cannot be attractive by smearing the rich fragrant sandalwood paste from Mount Malaya or Monkeys can’t be attractive by adorning ornaments. Oh! Mind, is it worth giving a detailed bath to an elephant? It would always search for an opportunity to shovel sand and mud on its back. Oh! Mind It is of no use aiming an arrow on the rock, it would empty the arrows. Oh! Mind, the people drenched in the interest of worldly matters of infinite and perishable nature, chasing after material and physical pleasures of momentary natured are ignorant, lacking the knowledge of self/Jeevathma is Paramathma/ soul is indestructible, and all the material matters are destructible /Prakrithi, the Universe and infinite material matters are impermanent, and the Purusha is the soul which is permanent/. Hence, giving lectures on the Paramarththa Thaththva/absolute truth is an utter waste to people who are drenched in worldly matters, because their minds and intellect are soaked in the impurities of lust, desire, ego, jealousy, anger, pride, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, it would be like the black colored carpet won’t accept any other color to dominate.  Oh! Mortals, abandon the association of the people drenched in worldly matters and embrace the association of Santh, Mahathma, noble souls, who are Viraktha/renounced, and sing in praise of Lord Sri Hari.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mortal, the human without the devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari is considered a Bail/bull, the only difference is that the humans without devotion get excellent meals and comforts of home, on the other hand, the bull receives fewer meals, and work hard, otherwise, it would get beaten up by its Master, it has four legs, two horns, it cannot speak sins like humans, hence it cannot sing in praise of the glory of Lord Sri Hari too. It wanders the entire day grazing in green land, still does not get enough meal/grass, the stomach remains empty always, walks around with the painful shoulders due to excess workload on the fields, it has a hole on its nose to tie the rope around its neck, in this way how long it has to live on grass, and struggle on Earth no one knows. It cannot escape the harsh treatments on the field if it goes out of the track, it has to work on fields no matter its hot, cold, or rainy days. Oh! Mortals, why don’t you listen to the advice of noble souls, Santh, Mahathma, and preceptors, and leave your interest in worldly matters. Finally, whatever it is, finally you have to chew the results of the sins committed by words, mind, and deed. Oh! Mortals, do not waste your precious birth as a human achieved after several pieties of previous births without observing austerities, vows, celibacy, truthfulness, kindness, non-violence, charity, good self-control, enthusiasm, reading and listening to scriptures, worship of Lord Sri Hari and his devotees, serving the preceptors selflessly, reciting the glorious names of supreme Lord Sri Hari.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mortals, you have wasted the precious birth as a human, if not remember the sacred names of Lord Sri Hari. You have been chasing after the impermanent nature of possession, wealth, money, fame, richness, children, wife, companion, and relatives, and thrown yourself into constant grief and agony, eventually, you have lost welfare in the Ihaloka/life on Earth and Paraloka/afterlife as well. Oh! Ignorant, the precious birth as a human should be utilized for learning absolute truth/knowledge of self/Paramarththa Thaththva, being in the association of Santh, Mahathma, noble souls, and constant remembrance of the supreme Bhramam, otherwise, your birth itself is unworthy, a burden on the Earth. Oh! Mortals, the material matters such as wealth, possessions, family, relatives, and companions wouldn’t follow you in the afterlife. You have to travel alone to Paraloka/afterlife, and you were drenched in the illusion that all your comforts and luxuries, children, wife, etc. would follow your afterlife too. Oh! Ignorant you have wasted your mind and body for something that does not exist at all, you have been chasing material pleasure your entire life ensuring the welfare of all, leaving your Bhagavathprapthi/achievement of supreme abode. It was your misconception and attachment to worldly matters that pushed you into constant suffering, the Universe and its diversified matters are like dreams, it has fleeting nature. Now, the time has arrived to leave the Earth, you have been driven madly by lust, desire, ego, jealousy, pride, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, and wasted your entire life in amassing material possession of impermanent nature which is compared to Trina/grass. Oh! Fool, you have been in a deep slumber of ignorance, leaving the Harismaran/remembrance of all-pervasive supreme Bhramam Lord Sri Hari. Oh! Blind, you have soaked in ignorance and arrogance, time to wake up and think about yourself, contemplate and meditate upon Lord Sri Rama, sing in praise of him and leave all those worries and interest in worldly matters.”

Mortals, you have wasted three important phases of life such as childhood, adulthood, and youthful days indulging in worldly matters, when will you pick up the practice of devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari? The childhood days were spent in various amusements, and the youthful days were engaged in lust, and pride, thereby committed various sins to achieve wealth, money, richness, and fame. Oh! Ignorant, after all these, you haven’t been happy or contented in your life. Oh! Fool, you haven’t utilized the wealth and richness earned in your entire life from various sources either for charity or righteous deeds, or did not distribute among the penniless, do you think all those wealth amassed in various means would follow you after life on Earth? Oh! Ignorant, even the Kings had to leave their Kingdom, luxuries, Bandhu and Bandhava/family, relatives and friends, and leave the Earth. Oh! Fool, you have wasted precious life on the attachment to your wife, children, wealth, possessions, money, richness, fame, etc. which is merely an illusion/Maya/unreal, like the dream. Oh! Ignorant, you have drenched in lust, desire, ego, pride, jealousy, anger, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, that is nothing other than the Maya/illusion of Mayapathi. Finally, the later years have arrived, the sensory organs lost their capacity to hear, see, taste, or touch, the limbs have become fragile, and not cooperating with the mind, the movement has become restricted, and the airways are blocked, what would you do at this point of time? Your foolishness drove you afar from the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari to the mouth of painful death.”

Prabho, I have not practiced celibacy, austerities, vows, Shama, Dhama, Dhanam, Dhaya, Sathyam, Shaucham, Astheyam, Arjjavam, Swadhyaya, etc. or I did not get rid of the impurities of mind such as lust, desire, ego, jealousy, pride, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, I was drenched in Mahamoha/illusion, and chasing after the worldly matters of possession, wealth, richness, money, fame, children, wife, companion, relatives, etc. that has fleeting nature. Oh! Prabho, I have taken so much care on my bodily pleasure and its decoration, I have spent the youthful days in utter arrogance and pride, I have attracted towards beautiful women of voluptuous bodily features, like the dog looking at the luxurious meal, dribbling water from its togue, unfortunately, I did not achieve any kind of pleasure. Oh! Prabho, I have been a Mandhabudhdhi/dull-minded, lost the supreme bliss/Paramanandha, while chasing after the unworthy broken pieces of glass-like worldly matters, Oh! Mortals, you have abandoned the Amritharoopi/nectar-like the devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari and have chosen the Vishyaroopivisha/toxic poison like the worldly matters of impermanent nature.”

Prabho, I have not used the three important phases of life, such as Balyavastha/childhood, Kishoravastha/adulthood, and Kaumaravastha/Youthful days to practice austerities, Shama, Dhama, Sathyam, Dhaya, Dhanam, Astheyam, Ahimsa, Arjjavam, celibacy, vows, Swadhyaya, etc. hence I have wasted all my life due to utter ignorance and arrogance.  Oh! Prabho, I was ignorant, I had the misconception that the wealth, money, richness, possession, relatives, wife, children, companions, etc. would follow me afterlife too. As the years pass by, I have reached the later years of age, and begin to realize that none of those material matters or wife, children, relatives, or companions could follow me till death. Oh! Prabho, my attachment to worldly matters, lust, desire, ego, anger, pride, jealousy, etc. shoveled me into constant grief and sufferings/Thapathrya/three kinds of grief. Oh! Prabho, I am already worn out of grief and sufferings of worldly existence, but I did not take up the practice of devotion or visit the sacred shrines or dip in holy water, etc. Oh! Prabho, whenever I remembered your sacred names were with the selfish motive either to fulfill my desire or get rid of the mounting troubles, I did not remember your names with pure love and devotion. Oh! Mortals, the noose of death/ Mrithyu is terrible, it would block your airways completely, so you can’t even utter a single word, before that sing in praise of the glory of Lord Sri Hari.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho, I was completely drenched in ignorance and arrogance, hence I have lost pure wisdom, the knowledge of self/ the Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma Paramambhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva, is all-pervasive indestructible Purusha, and all the material matters/Prakrithi is destructible.  Oh! Prabho, I was chasing after material and physical pleasure and my increased interest in worldly matters caused me to lose the precious gem Hari Bhakti, the devotion, and singing in praise of Lord Sri Hari. I have been wandering aimlessly to please my senses, like the deer chases the illusion of water in the desert/Mrigathrishna to quench its thirst, alas! after a long a chase it would realize that there is no water source, and die of thirst. Oh! Prabho, due to ignorance, I have attached to the worldly matters of possession, wealth, money, richness, fame, children, wife, companion, relatives, etc. that has fleeting nature. Oh! Prabho, I have taken several births in different Yonis/wombs of birds, animals, humans, etc. and performed various Karma/duties and responsibilities, in this way, I have shackled myself in various duties, thus I have been completely restrained by the Karma, like the parrot that takes a nip of tasteless Semar fruit, later struggle to get rid of the sticky substance from its beak. In this way, I have shackled myself to the tasteless and meaningless worldly matters/Samsara, with the hope to achieve perpetual bliss, unfortunately, I did not achieve serenity of mind or happiness in the worldly existence, and all my chase for the material and physical pleasure of day and night turned out worthless, brought constant grief and sufferings. Oh! Prabho, my chase for material and physical pleasures resulted in extreme disappointment, hence I did not find interest, taste, or happiness in whatever I have been chasing for a long time, finally, I have understood all my efforts to achieve the material and physical pleasures are in vain, all that I have experienced is utter desolation and grief.  Oh! Prabho, I have understood there is no difference between myself and the monkey in the hands of a magician, who spill grains to feed them and make them dance to his tune, in the same manner, I was shackled with the chain of lust and desire to appease my sense, hence I had to take several births in different Yonis of birds, animals, reptiles, humans, etc. Oh! Prabho, I did not practice devotion, or sing in praise of supreme Lord Sri Hari, or listen or reciting the glorious legends of the supreme Lord, therefore I have pushed myself into the mouth of serpent-like the painful death.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mind, practice to fall in love with Lord Madhav, listen to me carefully, the impurities of mind such as Kama/lust, Krodha/anger, Lobha, Moha/desire, Madha/ego, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara/arrogance, and Mamakara/ignorance are the huge obstacles for the practice of devotion, hence abandon your interest in worldly matters, contemplate and meditate upon Lord Sri Hari and get rid of the impurities of the mind. Oh! Mind, learn to develop the love for Supreme Lord Sri Hari. You can learn from the honey bees, which relentlessly wander all over the woods, collect honey from the flowers without destroying it, and never get disappointed or delighted. These honey bees settle inside the lotus flower to collect honey, unfortunately, it gets trapped in it at the time of sunset, as soon as the sunflower shrinks. Oh! Mind, abandon your interest in infinite and diversified worldly matters, get rid of lust, desire, ego, jealousy, anger, and pride, learn to free yourself from the dualities of happiness and sorrow, good and evil, honor and disgrace, etc. Oh! Mind, learn not to grieve at loss or overjoy at the gain, surrender at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari, contemplate and meditate upon him, and fall in love with the Jagathpitha Jagadheeshwar Lord Sri Hari like the Chathaka/birds. These Chathaka get anxious to see the full moon, get overjoyed at the sight of rain clouds, they do not drink water even from the sacred Manasarovar to quench their thirst, they yearningly wait for the raindrop from the Swathi star to remove their thirst. In this way, grow fond of Lord Sri Hari, fall in love with the Paramathma Paramambhramam reside as a soul in you, take shelter at his lotus feet, and remain in supreme bliss. Oh! Mind, whoever surrendered at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari would get freed from the sufferings and grief of worldly existence and remain protected always. Oh! Mind, learn the love of the lotus flower towards the sun/Lord Surya, it absorbs all the heat from the sun, even after living in the water, sometimes it gets dried up along with the water, but its love for the sun never diminishes. Oh! Mind, learn the love of fireflies that gets attracted towards the flames and burn into ashes, but it never leaves its attraction towards the flames. Oh! Mind, see the love of fishes for the water, whenever the sun dries up the water all the living creatures in the water get alarmed, yearn for its immediate presence, the water does not care about the living things in it, or die without it, but the aquatic creatures never leave its love for the water. Oh! Mind, learn the love of the dove to its female partner, it flies high in the sky with great enthusiasm, and if it notices its female companion on the ground, it will control its breath, and dash to Earth, eventually it will fall on the Earth with a loud thud and die. Oh! Mind, learn the love of Harina/deer, it is a great lover of melodious music, it enjoys the music with its back feet raised from the ground, which is the only source to sprint, unfortunately, the hunter approaches the deer and shoots an arrow on its chest, and it gets killed. Oh! Ignorant, the woman who lost her husband would embrace the funeral pyre of her husband, willingly or unwillingly, it was her love for her husband that forced her to burn herself into ashes. The Veda and Shastras emphasize that the stealing, and burglary, are the grave sins, which creates trepidation not only to the doer but also to whoever witnesses the same, but the stealer or thieves who are soaked in this habit do not think of the consequences of it or do not leave their habit even if they are helpless to do it. The love is superior among all the emotions, the people who are drenched in the material matters of possession, wealth, money, richness, fame, children, wife, relatives, and companions, are gamblers sacrificing their body, mind, wealth, and their youthfulness, indulging in material and physical pleasure of toxic poison of worldly matters, finally get defeated by the ‘Time’/aging, illnesses, fear of death, separation from beloved ones, etc. Alas! their love for physical and material pleasures won’t leave them. Oh! Mind, you have achieved the rarest birth as a human, it is considered as the most precious gem, but you have not utilized it properly. Oh! Mind, you have not practiced austerities, penance, Swadhayaya, non-violence, truthfulness, purity of mind, celibacy, self-control, Shamadhamadhi, etc. you did not take up the austerities to burn the impurities of the mind. Oh! Mind, you might have heard of various legends of love, why do not you practice the pure love upon that Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam resides as a soul in you? Aren’t you ashamed of it? He is supreme Lord Sri Hari who is the Lord of the Universe, he is the protector of living and living things in the Universe, he is the source of happiness and welfare, he is Prana/soul /vital air which is the sole source for the functioning of the mind, intellect, Karma, Gnananedhriyas/sensory organs, Chiththa/wisdom, Ahamkara/attributes, Prana, etc. how could you forget that Paramathma Parambhramam? Oh! Ignorant, the Veda, Purana, Agamashasthras, Rishis, Sages, and deities and humans’ worships that supreme Lord Sri Hari, who is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, he represents all the living and non-living things in the Universe, he is all-pervasive supreme Bhramam represents Khaga/birds, Mriga/animals, Nara/humans, even the minuscule creatures, in the Earth, Air, Sky and Water and finally, there is nothing other than Lord Sri Hari in the Universe. He is the Lord of the Universe, he is kind and compassionate/Dhayalu and Kripalu/ benevolent, merciful to the living and non-living creatures. Oh! Ignorant, there was none to protect you while you were in your mother’s womb, you were a helpless mass of meat, you were in extreme agony, without limbs, at that point the supreme Bhramam reside as soul/Prana, protected you. The compassionate Lord was protecting you day and night in the mother’s womb, he made a source of air, water, and food for you in the mother’s womb and nurtured you. Finally, you have been pushed out of the mother’s womb after ten months of hellish torture in the dark and tiny space, falling upside down on the Earth, by the time, the compassionate Lord arranged mother’s milk to nurture you. Oh! Ignorant, you were Jada/without consciousness in the mother’s womb, the compassionate Lord who is the creator of the Universe, with the Rajasik, Thamasik, and Sathvik attributes from the Panchathaththva/five elements such as water, air, ether, earth, and fire, infused life/Prana and attributes in you. He meticulously provided the nose, eyes, ears, legs, hands, hair, nails, etc., he provided you the necessities of life such as food, shelter, and clothing. He provided parents and siblings according to your taste and habits, he provided you relatives, companions, servants, children, wife, wealth, richness, fame, money, etc. Oh! Ignorant, you have completely forgotten that Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma who has protected you and provided welfare and happiness in your life, Oh! Mahamoorkh/dull-mind, how could you forget that supreme Lord and chase after the toxic poison like worldly matters? Your youthful days are over, and your entire life has been wasted chasing after physical and material pleasure. Oh! Fool, you are like the morally wrong person who approaches a strange woman in the dark hours for physical pleasure, and returns home in daylight with fear/the night hours represent the toxic poison of worldly matters, and daylight is later years of age/Mahamrithyu Bhaya/fear of death. Oh! Ignorant, you have been soaked in worldly matters, lust, desire, ego, jealousy, anger, and pride, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, it enhanced the flames of arrogance and ignorance in you, thereby you have lost the eyesight of wisdom, hence you have completely forgotten the Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam who is most promising reside as a soul in you. Oh! Mind, the later years of age are miserable, there won’t be no one to protect you from the dreadful emissaries of Lord Yama who torture you for the sins committed, no one would be there to protect you, not even your Bandhu and Bandhava/family and relatives. Oh! Kubudhdhi/wicked, you do not even know how many times you had the experience of hellish torture of Garbhavasa/sufferings in the mother’s womb and the dreadful emissaries of Lord Yama. Oh! Ignorant, how could you achieve happiness in this life keeping yourself afar from the compassionate Lord Sri Hari? Oh! Mind, Oh! Ignorant, aren’t you ashamed of yourself? I have been uttering this for thousandth times, you did not practice devotion, austerities, or singing in praise of Lord Sri Hari.”

Mind, I have advised you crores of time to leave your interest in worldly matters of fleeting nature that could heave you into constant grief and sufferings, you have refused to take shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Govinda, hence you are going through the Thapathraya/three kinds of grief of worldly existence. Oh! Ignorant, if you have taken shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari, you could have got relieved from the accumulated sins and sufferings as well. Alas! you haven’t practiced devotion or worship at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari, or you did not sing in praise of him or listen to the glorious legends of him. Oh! Mind, you have been soaked in lust, desire, ego, jealousy, pride, anger, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, eventually driven afar from the practice of devotion and worship of Lord Sri Hari. Oh! Dull minded, during your chase of worldly matters, you have lost the most precious ‘Parasmani’/gem that transforms the ordinary stone into a precious gem with its contact, like the devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari, and you have been chasing the ordinary glass pieces like the toxic worldly matters of possession, richness, wealth, money, fame, children, companion, wife, relatives, etc. that has momentary life. Oh! Ignorant, you have abandoned the pure milk and adopted the white creamy substance.  Oh! Mortals, you must have experienced the significant role performed by the deities, Lord Bhrama, Lord Rudra, Surya, Chandra, Agni, Varuna, Vayu, Stars, planets, and the essential five elements, etc. in the functioning of the Universe, therefore, without the practice of devotion and worship of Lord Sri Hari you can’t find the serenity of mind in the three worlds.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Ignorant, there is no permanent bliss other than Lord Govindha.  The Ridhdhi and Siddhi/welfare and prosperity keep flashing in your life due to the pieties of previous births, and by undertaking the practice of vows, celibacy, austerities, Shamadhamadhi, Swadhyaya, Ahimsa, Sathyam, Astheyam, Arjjavam, Shaucham, etc. would provide its auspiciousness, and the instant happiness achieved through these austerities cannot remove the grief and sufferings of worldly existence.  The supreme Lord Bhrama, Lord Shiva, and the illustrious Rishis and Sages, Sanakadhis emphasize that there is nothing capable to alleviate the sorrow and grief/Thapathraya such as 1) grief from natural calamities like flood, famine, drought, earthquake, epidemic, wood fire, etc. 2) grief from the loss of wealth, possessions, richness, money, fame, wife, children, companion and relatives 3) grief from aging, illnesses, fear of death, and grief of separation from beloved ones. Hence, they highly recommends to take shelter at the lotus feet of Jagathpitha Jagadheeshwar/Father of the Universe/ Lord of the Universe, and there is no place in the three worlds you could find serenity, therefore take shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari. Oh! Mortals, the worship of demi gods, favorite deities, etc. would provide the results you have desired, but it would be like the rain clouds, it could alleviate your sorrows and fulfill your wishes for a short period of time, and it cannot provide permanent bliss/Bhramanandham. Oh! Mortals, the sufferings and grief of worldly existence cannot be removed without singing in praise of Lord Sri Hari, listening to his glorious legends and reciting his sacred names, etc.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Ignorant, kindly follow my advice, and slow down your chase for material possession, wealth, money, richness, children, wife, relatives, and companion. You have wasted the precious life drenched in lust, desire, ego, jealousy, pride, anger, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, thereby you have misused the three significant phases of life such as Balyavastha/childhood, Kishoravastha/adulthood, and Kaumara/youthful days, finally you have approached the later years of age. Oh! Ignorant,  engage in the practice of meditation and contemplation upon the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari while you are young and healthy, the miserable days are yet to come, during the later years of age the limbs won’t co-ordinate with your mind, movements would become restricted, the vision gets blurred, the hearing capacity become dull, the speech would become misty and the air rush out of your mouth instead of words, your thought process and speech would get disoriented and many more troubles would follow these days that are beyond description. Oh! Ignorant, do not get drenched in the Maya/illusion of Mayapathi, the Universe and its diversified matters of sound, touch, appearance, passion, and smell of fleeting natured. The illusion/Maya continues to capture you until you are soaked in ignorance, once you are out of the interest in fleeting natured material matters of possession, wealth, money, richness, fame, wife, children, companion and relatives, etc. your sufferings and grief of worldly existence would disappear. Oh! Jeeva, the supreme Lord Jagadheeshwara is the Lord of the Universe, he is the protector of the Universe and its living and non-living things, he is all-pervasive Bhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva, it has neither birth nor death, it is unblemished, pure, free from dualities, and its eternal bliss, hence contemplate and meditate upon the Supreme Lord Sri Hari, and worship him with pure love and devotion.”

Mind, you are shameless and wicked, it is meaningless to talk about the precious life wasted on the attachment to the material matters of possession, richness, fame, money, children, wife, companion, relatives, etc. Alas! what a pitiful life, while leaving the mortal coil you get anxious about the wealth, and people you are leaving behind. Oh! Mortals, I shall explain the satirical journey of living beings, it is like an old male dog dragging on its feet, holding a piece of bone in its mouth, the body is filled in dirt and worms, running after the female dog, let me explain another example of a poor goat grazing on the lush green field, did not realize the hunter approaching with the weapon, but the goat is unwilling to notice the hunter, taking great pleasure in the grass. Oh! Ignorant, these are the pitiable state of humans drenched in material and physical pleasure, without knowing the arrival of death. The human body undergoes constant transformation, aging, illnesses, fear of death, and the grief of separation from beloved ones which are inevitable, even after all these the Jeeva does not take it seriously. Oh! Mortals, how could you turn away from the Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam resides as a soul in you? The scriptures emphasize the Paramathma is the only Purusha/ male, and the Jeevathma/Jeevas/humans/ are female, how could a chaste wife run behind the luxuries abandoning her husband?”

Mortals, the sufferings in the mother's womb/Garbhavasa Dhukham is inexplainable, the fetus constantly struggles to move in the tiny and dark space in the womb, filled with its own excreta blood, water, and worms. The moment the child comes out of the womb, fallen upside down on the Earth, it would completely forget the hellish tortures it had undergone in its mother’s womb, and it is the reason Jeeva gets drenched in lust, desire, ego, jealousy, proud, anger, Ahamkara, and Mamakara. Oh! Mortals, remember those days you were in the mother’s womb, lying upside down in your own excreta, blood, and water, infested with the worms. Who was there to protect you while you were in extreme agony in your mother’s womb? Just put your thoughts and think of those days, who was nurturing those delicate limbs of the fetus? Oh! Mortal, you were completely helpless inside the womb of your mother, who was feeding you with the life sources? somebody has to take care of you after falling upside down from the mother’s womb. Oh! Selfish mortals, you have been ungrateful to that Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam resides as a soul who has protected you while in the mother’s womb. The Supreme Lord Sri Hari is the creator, preserver, and destroyer as well, he is the protector of the Universe and its living and non-living things, Oh! Ignorant, you did not worship that supreme Lord, or meditate or contemplate upon him, instead you have been chasing after possession, wealth, money, richness, fame, children, wife, companion, relatives, etc. which has fleeting nature. Oh! Ignorant you have been drenched in infinite diversified matters of the Universe, like the deer/Jeeva get into the trap of the hunter/Vishayaroopi/toxic listening to the soulful music/worldly matters, eventually get killed with the shot of an arrow/death.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Ignorant, you have the misconception that all the material matters in the Universe are permanent, you are under the delusion that the possessions, wealth, money, richness, family, children, companions and relatives, etc. achieved in this birth are going to be with you forever, and you are unnecessary taking pride on your possession, family, children, wealth and clan. The rarest birth as a human has attained after several pieties is Kshanabhangura/which has the life of water bubbles, it has momentary life like the dream and clouds. Oh! Mortals, as long as you are physically and mentally fit, and all your material possessions are in abundance, then your family, friends, and relatives may take pleasure in your association, once the attractions leave you, all those close relatives and family would disappear from your life. Your family, children, friends, and relatives would be in your association as long as your eye sights are good, you are physically attractive and fit to move, excellent in speech, etc. once the vital air/Prana leaves the body, everyone would urge to remove the lifeless body to the funeral ground, none will come closer to the mortal coil and address it as Pretha/spirit. Oh! Moorkh/fool, Oh! Mohith Ajjani/ignorant fallen for lust and desire, Oh! Mandhabudhdhi/dull-minded, there is no one devoted or promising or faithful to you, if so, they won’t remove the Prethashareera/lifeless body from the home immediately after death. The family, children, relatives, and companions may shed tears at your death, like the crows that assemble at the death of the other crow, crowing ‘Ka Ka’. Oh! Ignorant, once the Prana/vital air leaves your body, it is either disposed of under the Earth that would feed the worms, burnt to ashes, or disposed of in the sacred rivers that would feed the aquatic animals. Oh! Mortals, the rarest birth as humans is achieved after several pieties should not be wasted in wedging on worldly matters of infinite sound, touch, passion, smell, and appearances, hence abandon your interest in worldly matters and take shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari.”

Chapter – 118-  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The sufferings of the fetus in the mother’s womb/Garbhavasa Dhukham

 

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mind, listen to me carefully and kindly follow my advice, I promise upon Lord Sri Ramachandra, the Veda Shastra Puranas, and the preceptors highly emphasize the significance of devotion and worship of Lord Sri Hari, following Varnna/Bhramin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, and Shudra, and the Ashrama Dharma/Bhramacharya, Grihastha, Vanaprastha and Sanyasa Ashrama by word, mind, and deed. Otherwise, the Jeeva hurl into the sufferings in the womb, a tiny dark space of Garbhavasa Dhukham/sufferings in the mother's womb, filled with the excreta of the fetus, lying upside down in the pool of blood, water, and worms.  The fetus continues to grow in the excreta of its own, in extreme distress which is beyond description, unable to move inside the tiny and dark space inside the womb, it grows with the types of food the mother chooses thoughtlessly, the hot, spicy and cold meals consumed by its mother put the fetus in extreme agony, which makes the fetus constantly remember the Lord, finally after attaining maturity it would fall out of the womb upside down on the Earth. Oh! Mortals, remember those days spent in the mother’s womb and the struggles you have undergone/Garbhavasadhukham, hence abandon the interest in the worldly matters of possession, richness, fame, wealth, money, children, wife, companion and relatives, etc. that would keep hurling you in the Garbhavasadhukham/repeated births. Whoever surrendered at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari got cleansed from the impurities of mind such as lust, desire, ego, jealousy, anger, pride, Ahamkara, and Mamakara. Oh! Jeeva, the sacred names of the Lord has the highest  potential to cleanse the mind of the Jeeva, even the grave sinners have attained liberation surrendering at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Har, hence contemplate and meditate upon Lord Sri Hari and thereby get rid of sufferings of worldly existence.”
