Devakritha Lakshmi Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

Oh! Bhagavathi, Oh! Amba, kindly pardon us, you are the symbol of patience, you are not perceivable through eyes or mind or intellect, you are unblemished, you have Sathvik qualities, you are unaffected by anger, you are superior among the Sathvees/righteous, you are worshiped by the deities, without your presence the whole Universe is lifeless and fruitless.  You are the symbol of wealth, you are omnipresent, you represent amorous sports and you are primordial.  You have personified as Goddess Parvathi in Mount Kailash, you have embodied as Sindhukanya/ Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi in the milky ocean, you have personified as Devalakshmi in the abode of celestials and appeared as wealth/Lakshmi on Earth, you have embodied as Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi in the abode of Lord Vishnu/Srivaikundham, and Goddess Sri Saraswathi in the Sathyaloka, you have taken the form of sacred Ganga, Thulsi and Savithri in the abode of Lord Bhrama.  You are the darling of Lord Krishna, therefore you have appeared as Radhika/Krishnapraneshwari in the world of cattle/Goloka and you have performed the amorous sports with Lord Krishna in the woods of Vrindavan.  Oh! Badhre, you are the darling of Lord Krishna, you have appeared as Chandrika in the woods of Chandra, Viraja in the woods of Champaka, and remains charming always,  you have appeared as Padmavathi in the woods of Padma, Malathi in the woods of Malathi, Kundhadhanthi in the Kundhavanam, and Susheela in the woods of Kethaki.  You are residing as garlands of Kadamba in the woods of Kadamba, Rajalakshmi in the Palace of King, and Mahalakshmi in the homes of common people.

Whoever reads or listens to the above sacred hymns of Devakritha Lakshmi Sthothram in the hours of dawn would be blessed with all that desired, obstacles in the marriage will be removed, men will be blessed with appropriate companion, humble, chaste, generous, gorgeous, attractive with sweet talks from superior clan, couples will be blessed with children and grandchildren, childless would be blessed with virtuous offspring with the devotion to Lord Vishnu and long life, worshiper will live a life of fame, wisdom and all the auspiciousness, King who lost his kingdom would regain his glories, person who lost his wealth would regain his wealth, worshiper would regain their relatives, wealth, fame and remain glorious.  The above sacred verses are highly auspicious and capable to remove miseries and grief; it provides eternal bliss and Dharma/righteousness and Moksha/liberation from repeated births as well.
