Sri Gita Govinda Mahakavyam - Sri Jayadeva Ashtapadi – 4 - Lyrics and meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

The closest associate of Radharani describes her about the presence of Lord Krishna in the embrace of numerous young maidens of Vraja who are immersed in the marvelous amorous sport with Krishna, they are overwhelmed with affection and bashfulness, and they have intense devotion towards Krishna, their nearness roused the spirit of the passionate sport of Murari.

Oh! Radhe, Lord Krishna is smeared in high fragrant sandal paste all over his dark blue complexioned body, he is attired in majestic yellow garments and he is decked in Vanamala/garland made of flowers from wood, he is decked in marvelous earrings that keep dangling and touches on his smiling cheeks,  Hari is immersed in joyful  pastime with the young maidens of Vraja.  One of the young maiden firmly embraced Krishna due to intense love and devotion, she tightly embrace Krishna close to her large bosom and began to sing beautifully in Panchamaraga/fifth musical note.  Another young maiden desirously meditates on the lotus face of Madhusoodhana, she is enticed by the passionate sidelong glances of Krishna, and she approached with an intense desire to drink the nectar from the lotus-like face of Madhusoodhana.  One of the beautiful young maiden leaned towards Krishna’s cheek as she wants to whisper something on his ears, Krishna instantly respond to her objective, that young maiden seized the promising moment to fulfill her long-cherished desire to kiss him on his beautiful cheeks.  One of the young females who is skilled in the art of passionate sport found a solitary place close to the marvelous mangrove on the river banks of Yamuna, she seized the very fine garment of Krishna and took him on her way.  One of the young maiden who is wrapped up in clapping her lovely hands delightfully to the tune of music, it produced the clattering sounds of her bangle, and simultaneously she was dancing to the melodious tune of the flute of Lord Hari.  Lord Krishna was taking immense pleasure in the embrace of lovely young maidens of Vraja, he was kissing and caressing them, and he was closely examining others and got highly pleased.

The above are the most wonderful verses composed by Sri Jayadeva, which reveals the passionate sport of Keshava took place in the woods of Vrindavan, it is auspicious and most celebrated, remained highly confidential.

The Lord of the Universe who is supreme bliss, he has the luster of blue lotus flower and he has attractive limbs, performed the glorious and most celebrated passionate sport with the beautiful young maidens of Vraja, who took immense delight at their heart's content in the amorous sport, they remained in the embrace of Lord Krishna, he took them in a state of ecstasy.  Radha who is supremely gorgeous was completely ruptured with the excitement of passionate sport, she became jubilant and firmly embraced Krishna/Mura with intense devotion and love, in front of the young maidens of cowherds who were already besieged in the passionate sport, she continuously kissed him by praising his charismatic looks and lotus face which is packed with the nectar, Krishna expressed his immense delight with beautiful smiles.  Oh! Hari, kindly shower your grace on us too.
