Sri Dhanalakshmi Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

Lord Shiva speaks “ I shall prostrate before supreme Goddess of wealth who is supreme bliss, I shall narrate the highly propitious hymn praising the splendor of Goddess of Wealth, she symbolizes wealth and prosperity, belief, purity, confidence, respect, desires etc… she is easily perceivable, I shall affirm that she is the source of Yoga, well being, and truth, Bhramin/twice born  and people who reads or listens to it with intense faith would  attain abundance of wealth, and worshiper would be freed from the sufferings of poverty, she has embodied as Earth, she is inseparable part of Bhava, she represents wealth, happiness, good fortune, and auspiciousness, she symbolizes Kalpatharu/wish fulfilling creeper, whoever worships her would attain the grace of Goddess of Wealth who symbolizes Kamadhenu/wish fulfilling divine cow, she symbolizes righteousness, and wealth, she is divine personified, she is extremely compassionate and showers abundance of boons, Oh! Maheshani, I shall repeatedly prostrate before you, she is Dhara who has embodied as Earth, she is beloved of Amaras/deities, she symbolizes piousness, contentment, and satisfaction, she is worshiped by Lord Kubera, Oh! Devi, kindly bless us with abundance of wealth, and righteousness for the performance of fire sacrifices and Dharmic deeds, she is loveliest, most desirable, and has pleasant disposition, she is beloved of Rudra, she has personified as RamA, she is beloved of Devi Rathi, Oh! Devi, who resides in the hearts of intellectuals and scholarly, I shall repeatedly prostrate before you, kindly protect us, she has reddish colored lotus feet, she is the source of Siddhi and she fulfills all the desires of the worshiper, she is attired in pure majestic silk garment, she is divine personified, adorned in various precious ornaments and flower garlands, she is store house of virtues, she is flawless with divine limbs, her beautiful face has the luster autumn moon, she is Neela, she has striking eyes resembles to blue lily, she has attractive long and curly hair locks resembles to pack of honey bees that are adorned in various ornaments, she is Bhagavathi who is highly enthusiastic, she is the mother of Universe and its living beings, she has melodious voice resembles to Cuckoo, she is eulogized by wise, intellectuals, poets etc.. she steals the intellect of the passionate devotees, her lovely appearance, youthfulness, compassion and  virtues as highly eulogized by illustrious Rishis and Sages, her stunning hands are adorned in exaquisite bangles which makes rattling noises, she holds most eye-catching lotus flower, she imparts  knowledge of greatest philosophies and righteousness, Oh! Devi who is Goddess of wealth, kindly blesses us with immense wealth for performing Dharmic rites, Oh! Jagadhambike,  you are the mother, kindly bless us , Oh! Karunasagare who is ocean of mercy, I shall reverentially prostrate before you, kindly protect us and shower abundance of auspiciousness, Oh! Vasudhe who symbolizes wealth and prosperity, she is the essence of richness, happiness, wealth and well being, she is worshiped by Vasu, Vasava, and Lord Kubera, Oh! Varadhe, kindly shower your eternal grace, she is absolute Bhramam who is worshiped by twice born, she has personified as Parvathi/Shankari who is inseparable female aspect of  Lord Shiva.  These are highly propitious hymns praising the splendor of Goddess of wealth, which is capable to eradicate sufferings of poverty, and illnesses, it provides abundance of wealth, Oh! Sreekari, Oh! Shankari, Oh! Sreedhe, kindly protect your passionate worshiper.”  These are glorious hymns composed by Lord Shiva for the deities and passionate devotees, whoever reads or listens to it for thousands or millions of time with utmost faith and devotion would be blessed with richness, abundance of wealth and grains equivalent to Lord Kubera who is the treasurer of wealth.
