Nyayashasthra – Chapter -8 - Chanakya Neethi – 1 - 10

Chapter – 8 – Chanakya Neethi 1 – 10

Rishi Chanakya speaks “ 1) The Adhama/Neecha/depressed, vile, inferior, yearns to accumulate the wealth in whatsoever means available, 2) Madhyama/people who are neither inferior nor superior, yearns to achieve wealth as well as honor/appreciation, 3) Uththama/superior all that yearns to achieve respect and honor. The two essential deeds that everyone should follow 1)Snanam/bathing on a regular basis and 2)Dhanam/performance of charities, does not matter if it was performed even after consuming meals, fruits, water, milk, sugarcane, fiber roots, medicines etc. The earthen lamp spread the light and consumes the darkness; finally releases charcoal, in the same manner, the mother gives birth to children of the nature of food/spicy, sweet, blunt, bitter, / consumed by the husband and wife in their lives. The intelligent people offer wealth in charity to the deserving, like the ocean water, vaporize and form rain clouds, further it comes down on the earth as downpour to flourish the vast lands with rich natural resources, and becomes a source of life for the infinite Charachara/living and non-living things, during this process, the ocean receives multitudes of good quality water in it. The Jjani/Thaththvadharshi/Bhramajjani pronounce that the thousands of Chandala is equal to one Yavana, hence there is no one impure than the Yavana.  A person is considered as Chandala until he/she is not performed the bath 1) after applying oil on the body 2) the person who visited funeral ground/Chithadhooma 3) after physical relationship/Maithuna 4) after performing shaving /Kshaura. Water is the best cure for indigestion, consumption of water after the meal would remove the toxin in the body, and water consumed in between the meals is equivalent to nectar. The destruction is definite in the following cases `1) The skill or education that was not put into use on a regular basis 2) ignorant Jeeva who has no knowledge of ‘self’ or God-realization, drenched in worldly matters and bondage 3) Army of warriors without the skilled commander-in-chief and 4) life of a woman without her husband.  The most unfortunate happenings in the latter years of age are 1) loss of wife or husband in the latter years of age 2) wealth owned is under the supervision of children or relatives 3) completely depended on others for a single course of the meal. Any deed performed without sincerity is pointless, 1) Veda Adhyayanam without performing the daily rites and Agnihothradhi won’t yield any fruitful results 2) Any sacrificial or religious rites or spiritual rites performed without offering a contribution to the priests and twice-born is considered as fruitless.”
