Chapter
– 3 – Sri Manirathna Mala – 11 – 16
The
disciple speaks “Oh! Bhagavan, kindly narrate 1) which is the superior knowledge?
What is ‘supreme consciousness’ that could bring Vimukthi? 3) What is real
achievement? 4) who could win over the Prapancha/Prakrithi?”
The
preceptor speaks “ 1) The Bhramajjanam/Athmajjanam is the superior knowledge that
could destroy the sufferings and miseries of worldly existence permanently. It
would protect the Jeeva from the vicious cycles of repeated birth as well. The
Bhramajjanam is the knowledge of all-pervasive Bhramam resides as a soul in the
Jeeva/knowledge of ‘self’ and Oneness-in-all, the ‘body is not Athman’ and the ‘Athma
is Paramathma’. The Atman is indestructible Purusha, which is changeless,
unblemished, pure, neither birth nor death, free from impurities and
afflictions. The body is Prapancha/Prakrithi, made up of essential five
elements such as air, earth, ether, water, and fire, undergoes a continuous
transformation, aging, illness, and ultimately death. 2) The superior knowledge provides
Moksha/Mukthi freed the Jeeva from the dualities of joy and grief, respect and
disrespect, happiness, and sorrow, etc. false notion and trepidation, thereby
provide the serenity of mind. The knowledge of indestructible Purusha resides
as soul and the attachment to destructible Prakrithi causes grief and
sufferings are the knowledge would lessen the interest in worldly matters. All the
material matters such as possession, wealth, richness, fame, money and
attachment to wife, children, relatives, and companions have impermanent nature,
hence the eternal truth is that the attachment to objects of fleeting nature
causes sorrow. The Paramathma Parambhramam resides as the soul is eternal truth and
supreme bliss. 3) The real achievement of the Jeeva is ‘Athma Sakshathkara’,
the union with the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam resides as soul, following the
austerities, observance of Tapasya, Shamadhamadhi, Athmavichara, Swadhyaya,
meditation and contemplation upon that supreme Bhramam, get rid of impurities,
interest in worldly matters and bondage, immerse in the transcendental state.
4) The Jeeva who has freed from the impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha,
Madha, and Mathshcharya, win over the Prapancha. The Jeeva who have followed
extreme austerities and Tapasya achieves perfect control over sense, get rid
of impurities and the interest in Prapancha as well.”
The
disciple speaks “Oh! Bhagavan, 1) who is extremely valorous? 2) Who is intelligent, brave, and Samadharshi?”
The
preceptor speaks “ 1) The extremely valorous Jeeva is the one who is freed from
the annoyance of cupid arrows of Kamadeva. The person who has perfect control
over sense, freed from the lust, desires, yearning for the bodily pleasure is
the extremely valorous, which is awfully difficult to achieve unless and until
the strict observation of austerities, Shamadhamadhi, the vow of silence, etc. 2)
The intelligent, brave, and Samadharshi/the one who perceives all-pervasive
Bramham in everything/Athmajjani, will not fall for prey to the enchanting
movement of eyes of the woman. Bhramajjani perceive the all-pervasive Bhramam
do not take pleasure in the material matters, are completely freed from the ‘Body
and I consciousness’ do not yearn for physical pleasure, consider the body as a
bundle of secrete. They have the thorough knowledge that the body continues to
exists until the ‘Prarabdhakarma’ ends, therefore they do not take interest in
feeding or taking pleasure in the body as well.”
The
disciple speaks “ Oh! Bhagavan, 1) which is the deadly poison? 2) Who is unpleasant
and find every opportunity to grieve? 3) Who is the contented soul? 4) Who is most venerable?”
The
preceptor speaks “ 1) The interest in material matters such as possession,
wealth, money, richness, fame, and attachment to children, wife, companion and
relatives have fleeting nature, the constant chase after finding pleasure to
sense causes grief and agony, the attachment to material matters cannot provide
permanent happiness, all the material matters undergoes constant transformation
and ruin, therefore the happiness derived from them is transient. The
attachment to material matters is a toxic poison, and thereby chase to accumulate
material welfare and sensual pleasures destroy the serenity of the mind. 2)
The Jeeva drenched in the interest in worldly matters and bondage find every
single reason to grieve, the ignorance causes the attachment to Prapancha/Anathmavasthu.
The lack of knowledge of the impermanent nature of Prakrithi causes grief in the
Jeeva in the absence of material and physical comforts. 3) The Krithakrithya/contented Jeeva always seeks the opportunity to serve others. The Jeeva who
strive for the welfare of the world is the contented soul. The noble souls enriched
with the virtues of truthfulness, purity, kindness, are the liberated soul. 4)
The most venerable is Athmajjani who perceive the all-pervasive Bhramam in
everything, oneness-in-all, freed from the dualities of respect and disrespect,
grace and disgrace, grief and joy, happiness and sorrow, etc. freed from the
interest in worldly matters and bondage, impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha,
Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya, and always immerses in the ‘Athmarathi’.”
The
disciple speaks “Oh! Bhagavan, kindly enlighten me 1) What are the
objectionable deeds? 2) What are the unobjectionable deeds followed by an
intelligent person? 3) What is the root cause of Prapancha?”
The
preceptor speaks “ 1) The intelligent will not get attached to the destructible
Prakrithi/material matters, or take pleasure in the attachment to children,
wife, relatives, and companion, that has transient nature. They have perfect
knowledge of attachment to the material matters and bondage causes
permanent grief. They do not engage in any of the immoral activities that could
take away the serenity of the mind, is considered as the wise act to get rid of
unpleasantness in life, and they seek every opportunity to abstain from the
sin. 2) The intelligent will not refrain from the performance of righteous deeds,
constantly engages in the Swadhayaya, Athmavichara, austerities, Shamadhamadhi,
etc. seek every opportunity to serve the world. 3) The root cause of Prapancha
is the ‘redundant thought’. Prapancha is impermanent, constantly undergoes a transformation, and meets ruin, like the mud pot created out of the mud merges
with the mud after a certain period of time, therefore it is unnecessary to
think and get anxious about the Prakrithi that has fleeting nature. All the
material matters like richness, wealth, possession, money, fame, attachment to
wife, children, companion, and relatives are transient in nature, the human body
undergoes constant transformation, aging, illnesses, ultimately death, hence
getting anxious and worried about these are unwanted.”
The
disciple speaks “Oh! Bhagavan, 1) who is intelligent? 2) What is that fastening the Jeeva to the Prapancha?
3) which is the superior Vratha/Vow?”
The
preceptor speaks “ 1) The clever person is steadfast, do not fall for the prey
of woman, do not yearn for bodily pleasure or chases after material welfare. 2)
The attachment to woman fastens the Jeeva to the Prapancha. 3) Kindness and
humbleness are the superior vows.”
The
disciple speaks “Oh! Bhagavan, 1) what is extremely difficult to understand? 2)
What is difficult to get rid of? 3) Who is considered as an animal in the form of
human?”
The
preceptor speaks “ 1) It is extremely difficult to understand the deeds and heart
of a woman 2) The difficult task is to get rid of impurities of Kama, Krodha,
Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathscharya, and the chase after the material welfare
and bodily pleasure, and it is
impossible to get rid of without the strict practice of Shamadhamadhi/Sathyam,
Dhaya, Shaucham, Dhamam, Shamam. 3)The Jeeva who is far from the Bhramajjana
is considered an animal. The person who has not striven to achieve the
Purusharththa, even after achieving the rare birth as ‘human’. Therefore, the
knowledge of the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam resides as soul, oneness-in-all,
is important to achieve the fruitfulness of life. The Athman is Paramathma, it
is indestructible Purusha free from impurities, changeless, eternal truth, free
from afflictions and has neither birth nor death. The Prapancha is Maya/illusion,
has fleeting nature, all those infinite Nama Roopa Dhrishya in the Prakrithi in the Jagrathavastha/awaken are brief as in
the Swapnavastha/dream.”
