Chapter – 155 -Sri Vinaya Pathrika  – Ramanama Mahima- The utterance of Ramanama removes obstacles in the life

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, practice contemplation and meditation upon the Supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra who is compassionate and kind to Jeeva took shelter at his lotus feet, there is no deity as generous as Lord Sri Ramachandra.  The demon Hiranyakashipu undertook severe penance praying to Lord Bhrama and achieved numerous boons, later expressed extreme hostility towards his own son Prahlada, an ardent devotee of Lord Hari was pushed to alarming situations were protected by Lord Hari, none of the boons achieved from Lord Bhrama protected Hiranyakashipu hurling into Yamaloka, because he was enemy of Lord Hari and his devotees, had to meet terrible death in the hands of Nrisimha/half lion-half man incarnation of Lord Hari. If Lord Bhrama really wanted to protect Hiranyakashipu, will he be pushed to Yamaloka?.   Oh! Jeeva, the demon Ravana was an ardent devotee of Lord Mahadeva, achieved several boons after severe penances, offering heads on the sacrificial fire. Unfortunately, he had created enmity with Lord Sri Ramachandra caused the destruction of his entire clan, later he met terrible death in hands of Lord Rama, even Lord Mahadeva could not protect Ravana from his destruction. Oh! Jeeva, no deity is generous as Lord Sri Ramachandra, hence listen to me carefully, other deities are worshiped to achieve specific boons such as Puthra Pauthradhi, Dhanam, Griham, Dhanyam, appropriate bride as a wedded wife, etc., cannot provide Moksha or Sharanagathi. Oh! Tulsidas, there is no deity as compassionate and kind as Lord Raghunath, the mere utterance of his name ‘Rama’ would please him, won’t look for austerities or elaborate worship, he is too generous to his devotees who have taken shelter in him. Oh! Jeeva, practice the recitation of ‘Ramanama’ with pure love and devotion, that would please Lord Sri Ramachandra.”
