Chapter – 74 - Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The worldly matters are
toxic poison
Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mind, wake up!
why do you want to get shackled by the illusion/Maya, and chases after infinite
sound, touch, passion, appearance, and smell? Why don’t you get rid of Ahamkara,
Mamakara, ego, jealousy, pride, desire, anger, lust, etc., and protect your precious life? Oh! Mind, you have already been drenched in toxic worldly
matters, and it has created deep dark spots and the stains of impurities in your
intellect, and it won’t leave without washing it thoroughly with the Ramanamaroopi
detergent, Oh! Ignorant, the stains of impurities won’t leave your intellect
unless and until you practice singing in praise of the virtues of Lord Sri Hari.
Oh! Mind, I have tried several times to abandon the interest in worldly matters
of possession, richness, wealth, fame, money, children, wife, companion, and
relatives, but my intellect doesn’t allow me to do so, it has already found
rich taste in the toxic poison of worldly matters. Excessive interest in
worldly matters is a toxic poison. The interest in worldly matters is required
for the survival only, feeding the mind and body with the pure things follows moral deeds, the
consumption of Sathvik food induces the interest in Sathkarma/righteous deeds like
the fresh sugar cane juice is extracted from the cane has no use, the juice is
heated in a high temperature to form jaggery, further it is added to cook
sweetened porridge, but cannot get back the original taste of sugar. The worldly
matters have infinite colors, black represents the ignorance and arrogance
never leave its trace, until and unless the practice of devotion at the lotus
feet of Lord Sri Hari, Oh! Mind, take refuge at the lotus feet of Lord
Syamsundhar, it would remove the impurities of arrogance, ignorance, lust,
desire, ego, jealousy, anger, and pride. Kubja/Kubdi, who has three visible
curves on her body smeared the sandalwood paste on the body of Lord
Shyamasundhar and fell in love with him, it has completely transformed her life,
and later she was compared to the precious yellow metal which was highly
praised as Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi. Oh! Mind, you are unfortunate, you have
sold out yourself to Mahamoha/illusion, leaving the lotus feet of Sri Nandhanandhan.
Oh! Mortals, do not mistake me, I am not talking about others, I am talking
about myself.”
