Chapter – 179-  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika –Prayer by Sri Surdas Maharaj to restore the title 'Pathitha Pavan'

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho, when did you liberate the grave sinner like me? Oh! Sri Hari, you are well-known as ‘Pathitha Pavan’ /savior of the distressed people, till now you have forgiven and freed the people who have made silly mistakes, and for that, you did not take too much effort at all.  Oh! Prabho, I shall list the people who have attained freedom from the sufferings and grief of worldly existence at ease with your compassionate grace, the King of birds Jatayu was brutally wounded while fighting with the ten-headed Ravana while abducting Devi Sita was left his mortal on your lap, the elephant Gajendra who was seized on the leg by a crocodile in the pond was freed with your fierce Sudharshan,  Devi Ahalya the chaste wife of Sage Gautama was cursed to become rock was released from the curse at the touch of the dust particles from your feet.  Oh! Prabho, the prostitute/Ganika achieved liberation by merely listening to the ‘Sri Ramanama’ from her parrot, thus you have restored your title ‘Pathitha Pavan’/savior of distressed people, without any difficulties. Oh! Prabho, the twice-born Ajamila was a staunch devotee of you, he pushed himself to utter grief by his own mistake, lived in the association of a prostitute in the forest, and had children, later you have elevated him to the Sri Baikundam/the supreme abode free from the grief and sufferings. Oh! Prabho, the people who have achieved your grace were not grave sinners like me, they have committed minor mistakes and pushed themselves to grief, and you have protected them immediately at their cries. Oh! Prabho, I am not an excellent poet, I am dull-minded and ignorant, kindly do not take my words into your heart. Oh! Prabho, how did I experience the fact that you are the savior of the distressed soul, until and unless I get liberated from the sufferings and grief of worldly existence? So, kindly protect me from the grief of worldly existence and repeated births.”
