Sri Rama Sthothram by Jatayu – Lyrics and meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

I shall always prostrate before supreme Lord Ramachandhra, who is the store house of virtues and beyond description, he is the cause for the Universe and its living beings, he is the supreme soul /Paramathma exists in all the living beings, he is all pervading.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Rama, who is wielded in bow and arrows, he is the provider of boons to his passionate devotees, Goddess Mahalakshmi showers her eternal grace to her ardent devotees which provides all the happiness, he is the destroyer of sorrows of the deities, Lord Indra and Lord Bhrama, he is divine entity personified as human.  I shall surrender to Lord Raghunandhana, he is charismatic in the three worlds, he has the brilliance of thousands of Aditya, I shall surrender to the supreme Lord who fulfills the desires and safe haven to his devotees.  I shall meditate upon Lord Hari, who is the colossal fire in the woods that destroys the sorrows and grief of Samsara, he is the Lord of Lords, he is compassionate, he is the destroyer of thousands of billions of demons, and he has the complexion resemblance to Ravithanaya / daughter of Lord surya/river Kalindi.  I shall meditate upon Lord Raghunandhan and seek protection of him; he is distant to those who are immersed in sensual pleasures, he is attainable to the Sages who have abandoned all the worldly pleasures and bondage, he guides to cross the ocean of Samsara effortlessly.  I shall meditate upon Raghunayaka, who is the provider of boons to the deities, he dwells in the minds of Girisha/Lord Shiva and Girisutha/Goddess Parvathi, he is personified as peaks and provides boons, and he is worshipped by deities and Lord Indra.  I shall meditate upon Lord Raghu who has eyes resemblance to lotus flower, he is virtuous and has strict disciplines such as no desire for Paradhana/others wealth and Paradhara/others wife, he is not jealous of others fame or wealth, he is selfless always engages in the welfare of others. I shall meditate upon Lord Raghupathi who is the supreme preceptor, he is pleasant and his face has the resemblance to fully blossomed lotus flower, he is attainable to the deities, he has the complexion of blue lilly, he has lustrous eyes.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Hari who is venerated and eulogized by all the deities; he appears as Lord Bhrama and Lord Shambu as well and in fact he is no different from them who represent Thrigunas, he has the brilliance of Aditya.  I shall meditate upon Lord Raghupathi who destroys the sorrows and greif of his passionate devotees, he has the brilliance hundreds of billions of Aditya, he has attractive limbs, he is beyond thoughts for those who are immersed in the worldly matters, and he dwells in the minds of Yathipathi.  Lord Raghu was pleased after listening to the prayers and pronounced that Jatayu will be safely moved to the abode of Lord Vishnu/ Paramapadham.  Whoever listens or writes or recites would attain the eternal presence of Lord Rama and would experience the nearness of Lord Rama at the time of death.
