Sri Dhvadhashanama Panjara Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

Let the east remain protected by Lord Keshana who carries divine wheel which has the luster of Jambhoo/crimson color, let the  west remain protected by Lord Narayana who carries conch and he has the complexion of dark clouds, let the upper part facing the sky remains protected by  Lord Madhava who carries Gadha/mace and he has the luster of Indheevaradhala/petals of blue lily, let the south remain protected by  Govinda who is wielded in Dhanvi/powerful arrows, and he has the luster of moon, let the  north remain protected by  Lord Vishnu who carries Hala, he has the luster of lotus flower, let the southeast remain protected by Lord Madhusoodhana, who is the slayer of demon Madhu and he has attractive limbs resembles to lotus, let the  southwest protects by  Lord Thrivikrama, who carries Gadgam that has the brilliance of fire, let the northwest remains protected by  Lord Vamana, who holds Vajrayudha which has the radiance of Lord Adithya in the morning hours, let the northeast remains protected by  Lord Sridhara who carries spear as weapon and he  has the luster of lotus flower,  let the space below the earth remains protected by Lord Hrishikesha who has the luster of lightning and he carries mallet in hands,  Lord Padmanabha who is the knower of all and has the luster of billions of Adithya reside in my heart with all those divine weapons and divine powers, in this manner all the directions will remain protected.  Lord Dhamodhara who is all pervading, unconquerable, carries noose in hands, has the luster of honey bee, protects us always.  Whoever recites or listens to the above Dhvadhasha Panjara Sthothram would remain fearless and protected.



I shall prostrate before Lord  Srirama, who is personified for the welfare of earth and its living beings, he eradicate miseries and sorrows, and provides abundance of fortune and wealth to his devotees.  I shall prostrate before Lord Ramachandra, who destroys the sufferings and fear of the distressed people and destroy the wicked people.  Oh! Rama, savior from miseries, I shall prostrate before Lord Rama who is wielded in powerful bow and arrows; he is the destroyer of demons.  I shall prostrate before Lord Rama who is the consort of Goddess Sita, he is superior among the clan of Raghu, and he is Ramabadhra who is the essence of Veda.   I shall earnestly pray to Lord Rama and Lakshmana who has powerful arms, valorous, youthful, and wielded in powerful bow and arrows to protect us.   Whoever recites the sacred names of Achyutha, Anantha and Govinda would be relieved from all kinds of illnesses. I shall affirm once again that Lord Keshava is the essence of Veda and Shasthra, Lord Narayana is the supreme cure and sacred medicine for those who are afflicted with severe illnesses, and therefore all the sacred scriptures profusely eulogize Lord Narayana.  I shall capitulate all those errors committed by words, actions, mind, intellect, character to Lord Narayana,  I shall surrender all those errors while construction of words and sentences, /Akshara, Padhabrashtam, Mathraheenam,  Visargam, Bindhu,  etc….to Lord Narayana, Oh ! Purushoththama, kindly forgive us.
