Vidura Neethi – Sri Mahabharath – Chapter - 4 - 4

Chapter – 3 - The conversation between Vidura and King Dhritarashtra – 61 - 72

Vidura speaks “ Oh! Bharatharshabha, trees are grown in the cluster, depending on each other, so that they withstand even the strongest hurricane.  Oh! Rajan, the noble person who stands alone is considered as easy to attack and conquer, like the tree stands alone. If the noble people stand together none of the treacherous acts could harm them, therefore it is necessary to help and depend on each other like the lotus flowers are grown in the cluster,  it would help the noble people to face any challenging situation courageously.  Oh! Rajan, twice-born, cows, women, children, relatives, and the Master/person whose meal was consumed and a person who has taken shelter, should not be killed at any circumstances. Oh! Rajan, the important wealth is health, a person who lacks good health is considered dead alive, therefore live a healthy life. Oh! Rajan, Dhurjjana’s noticeable nature is anger, it is not infectious, it is too bitter, and harsh, it is the results of their sinful Karma, it is sharp like a sword, and it causes severe headache. Oh! Rajan, therefore keep yourself free from it. Oh! Rajan, people who are suffering from ailments do not enjoy life or material matters, in the same manner, a person who is depressed do not take pleasure in wealth or comfort. Oh! Rajan, I have already warned you at the time of the gambling taken place between Pandava and Kaurava. Your sons adopted all the evil means to win over Pandava and attained Devi Dhraupadhi, Pandavas were truthful as always, and they do not underrate the Dharma. Oh! Rajan, pleasantness with strength is the virtue and Dharma as well, pleasantness and villainy deeds will consider as Adharma. The wealth earned in immoral ways definitely meets destruction there is no doubt in it. The wealth earned by loyal means, strength, and skills would always pass on to children, grandchildren and several generations. Oh! Rajan, let your children protect the Pandava and vice versa. In my opinion, let the Pandavas and Kauravas live together, even though they are not in good terms, let them share the wealth and piousness of Dharmic deeds. Oh! Rajan, you are the shelter place for Pandavas and Kauravas, and the clan of Kuru’s depends on you. Pandavas has returned from the fourteen years of exile from the Kingdom of Hastinapura, have gone through several hardships, if you want to keep your Yashas/glories, protect them with kindness and affection. Oh! Rajan, make all efforts to unite Pandavas and Kauravas, do not let your enemies happy at your fall.  Oh! Rajan, I insist take good control of your son Duryodhana, and the Pandavas are truthful and noble.”
