Chapter – 1 - Chanakya Neethi – 11 – 20
Rishi Chanakya speaks “The real nature of
the servant, relatives, companion, and wife can be understood in the following
circumstances 1) The honesty and sincerity
in the performance of duties of a servant can be understood during the toughest
hours 2) The compassion of relatives can be understood during the hours of
grief 3) The sincerity of a companion can be understood during the troubled
times and 4) The honesty and dedication of the wife can be understood at the
time of loss of wealth, possession, fame, and richness.”
Rishi Chanakya speaks “I shall describe
the nature of a genuine relative/Bandhu, 1) The one who sincerely serve during
the hours of suffering from critical ailments, 2) The one who boost your morale
and provide immense support during the hours of grief, 3) The one who assists
in all the possible manner while suffering from poverty, 4) The one who stands
as a strong aid during the difficult hours of threat from enemies and King, and
5) The one who sincerely follows you till funeral grounds.”
Rishi Chanakya speaks “The person, who
chases after impermanent material pleasures, leaving the permanent one, would
undoubtedly lose the permanent one, and in due course of time, they would lose
the material pleasures earned of impermanent nature as well.”
Rishi Chanakya speaks “An intelligent
person marries a woman of virtues from a decent clan/Kulaja, even though she is
not beautiful or Viroopa/ugly looking. An intelligent person should not marry a
woman from an indecent clan, even though she is most beautiful and wealthy. The
marriages should be performed between the families of equivalent status, otherwise, it won’t be considered as auspicious married life.”
Rishi Chanakya speaks “These group of
animals and peoples should not be believed at any cost 1) animals of sharp
hones, 2) animals of sharp nails, 3) rivers, watercourses/has the tendency to
cause sudden floods, 4) people who hold malicious weapons 5) females and 6) The members
of Rajakula/royal clan.”
Rishi Chanakya speaks “The nectar can be
separated from the toxic poison, the gold can be separated from secrete, in the
same manner, 1) The supreme knowledge/knowledge of ‘self’, or wise advice received
should not be disregarded, even if it was received from the person of the low clan,
and 2) The Sthreerathna/virtuous woman, although was born in the low clan
should not be refused to accept as a wedded wife.”
Rishi Chanakya speaks “ I shall explain
the huge difference between women and men, 1) Women consume meals twice as much
in size of men 2) Women has the intelligence four times greater than the men 3)
Women have the bravery/Sahas six times greater than the men 4) and the
Kama/desires eight times greater than the men.”
