Chapter – 2 – Chanakya Neethi 1 -10


Rishi Chanakya speaks “The very common characteristics in the woman are Anritham, Sahasam,  Maya, Moorkhathvam, Athilubdhatha, Ashaucha, and Nirdhaya 1)  lack of honesty  2) they possess extreme Sahasa/bravery/courage/haste 3) wisdom/ illusion/ 4) dullness 5) Athyarththi/excessive lust, industrious and desire 6) impurities /Ego, desire, lust, pride, jealousy and 7) mercilessness”

 

Rishi Chanakya speaks “It is rare to receive a woman as a wedded wife with these specific qualities, if so, it is available only for the man who has an abundance of piousness achieved through extreme Tapasya/Mahath Tapasya.  1) It is highly fortunate to receive a woman as a wedded wife who is highly thoughtful in handling the Bhogavasthu/comforts and luxuries, have great control over the sense, good control over the usage of the luxuries. The over-indulgence of any luxuries would cause obsession and addiction, and eventually, make life miserable living without it. Therefore the wedded wife should have a great skill to survive in any circumstances and run the family affairs smoothly, with the knowledge that all the material matters have impermanent nature. 2) It is fortunate to achieve woman as wedded wife who is attractive and has great knowledge in Rathishakthi/amorous sport to appease her partner and skill to observe celibacy and vows 3) It is fortunate to attain a woman as a wedded wife who has the inheritance of an abundance of wealth, and 4) Woman with great compassion and benevolence to offer wealth inherited in charities.”

 

Rishi Chanakya speaks “A person achieves heavenly pleasure while living on the Earth in the following circumstances,   1) If he has a virtuous son who sincerely follows the command of parents, disciplined, and perform righteous deeds for the welfare of all 2) If he has possessed the woman as a wedded wife who is extremely kind, virtuous, righteous, and sincerely follow the ‘Sthree Dharma’. 3) The person who is contented with wealth and possessions remain serene and blissful always.”

 

Rishi Chanakya speaks “ I shall describe the ideal nature of Puthra and Puthri/son,  parents, companion, and a wife.   1) An ideal son is the one who has a great devotion to parents, sincerely follow the commands and wishes of parents, kind, caring, and respectful 2) an ideal parent is the one who brings up their children instilling virtues like truthfulness, selflessness, uprightness, discipline, kindness, compassion, and righteousness to become a responsible youth 3) an ideal companion is the one who is faithful in all the situation, and lift your morale during the hours of struggle 4) a flawless wife is the one who satisfies the physical needs of her husband and live in complete harmony with the people in the family, strive hard to restore peace in the family so that everyone in the family can live under one roof with utmost serenity.”

 

Rishi Chanakya speaks “I shall explain the nature of a wicked companion, they are like the vessel of toxic poison covered with the milk, they speak sweet-nectar like words in your presence, they abundantly praise your virtues and deeds, present themselves as most sincere and devoted to you, make all efforts to impress you.  In your absence, they spread rumors at the speed of wind and work against you, these kinds of people should be abandoned forever.”

 

Rishi Chanakya speaks “There are two categories of people who are least trustworthy 1) a wicked companion indulged in  morally wrong deeds and 2) Samanya/common companion, these two types of companions are extremely dangerous, they cannot keep confidential matters within them, speak out all your confidential matters in a sudden impulse or anger.”

 

Rishi Chanakya speaks “An intelligent will not disclose his/her future plans about the proposed project publicly until and unless ready to bring into the scene, they enthusiastically discuss the detailed plans with close associates who are truthful and intelligent, and sincerely engage in the execution of the proposed project to put into action.”

 

Rishi Chanakya speaks “I shall explain some of the common truth, 1) foolishness causes extreme grief same as youthfulness. 2) It is far more difficult to live with strangers or Parageha/house of unknown. 3) The precious stones cannot be seen in all the mountain peaks, and in the same manner, 4) pearls cannot be seen in the forehead of all the elephants, 5) Sajjanas cannot be seen everywhere 6) the precious sandalwood cannot be found in all the forest.”

 

Rishi Chanakya speaks “The intelligent parents bring up their children with great care, instills good qualities, like truthfulness, virtuousness, discipline, good habits, knowledge in scriptures and sacred texts/Neethishasthra, belief in spiritual as well as religious and customary rites would shine as responsible youth and bring fame and prosperity to the clan.”

Yasya Puthro Vasheebhootho Bharya  Cchandhugamini | Vibhave  Yashcha  Santhushta: Thasya Swarga  Ihaiva Hi ||

 

The Puthra  Ye  Pithurbhaktha: Sa Pitha  Yasthu Poshaka: | Thanmithram Yasya  Vishwasa:  Sa Bharya Yathra Nirvrithi: ||

 

Parokshe  Karyahantharam Prathyakshe Priyavadhinam | Varjjayeth Thadhrisham Mithram Vishakumbham Payomukham ||

 

Na Vishwaseth  Kumithre Cha  Mithre  Chapi Na  Vishwaseth | Kadhachith Kupitham Mithram  Sarvam Guhyam Prakashayeth ||

 

Manasa Chinthitham Karyam Vacha Naiva  Prakashayeth | Manthrena  Rakshayeth Goodam Karye  Chapi Niyojayeth ||

 

Kashtam Cha Khalu Mookhathvam Kashtam Cha Khalu Yauvanam | Kashtath Kashtatharam Chaiva  Parageha Nivasanam ||

 

Shaile Shaile  Na Manikyam Maukthikam Na  Gajegaje | Sadhavo Na Hi Sarvathra Chandhanam Na Vane Vane ||
