Nyayashasthra – Chapter -6 - Chanakya Neethi – 1 - 10

Chapter – 6 – Chanakya Neethi 1 – 10

Rishi Chanakya speaks “Whoever sincerely learn Dharma from intellectuals, saintly people, and preceptors would follow the same, discard the wickedness and impurities/Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha and Mathscharya, with the constant practice of meditation and contemplation, following austerities, Tapasya, the vow of silence, celibacy, etc. achieves perfect control over sense, Gnana/knowledge of ‘self’ Paramathma Parambhramam resides as a soul and get rid of redundant thoughts, ultimately attain Moksha.  The crow among bird is considered as most impure/Chandala, the dogs are considered as impure among the animals and sinners among the saints are considered as impure/Chandala, but the person who disrespects others is considered the most impure. The vessels of Panchaloha/Panchadhathu can be cleaned with ashes, Thamrapathra/brass vessels can be get cleaned with the acidic ingredients/tamarind, women get purified with the menstruation and the rivers get purified with its flow. The King, twice-born/Bhramin and Yogi should not live in a place for a long period of time, they are destined to take up travels and long journeys, 1) the King conduct long journeys to ensure the safety, welfare, and opinion of the subjects, 2) the twice-born/Bhramin conducts long journeys to perform priestly service to the people, inspire the people to conduct several religious and spiritual rite for the welfare of the Universe and its people,  3) a Yogi conducts long journeys to impart the knowledge of ‘self’ and knowledge in scriptures and Vedanta. Women are not ordained to conduct long journeys, if so she would lose virtue and chastity.  The wealthiest person earns a huge number of relatives and companions, he is Panditha/scholar and honored by all. The destiny of the Jeeva determines the earnings derived out of intellect and hard work. Time is the best ‘Teacher’, it punishes and kills the evils, it is unconquerable, and it is wide awakening even in the Jeeva who sleep or pretend to sleep. There are four types of blind people 1) blind by birth 2) blind by lust 3) blind by haughtiness 4) blind by desire; these types of people never think of the aftereffects of the evilness. The supreme Bhramam/Paramathma resides as a soul in the Jeeva/Jeevathma engages in the Karma according to its attributes/Triguna – Rajasik, Thamasik, and Sathvik, and consumes the fruits of their Karma. In this way, the Jeevathma hurls into the vicious cycles of rebirth and continues to perform the Karma, and the process continues until and unless it strives to achieve the Paramartha Thaththva and attain union with the Paramathma Parambhramam. The permanent truth is 1) King undergoes  the sufferings of the sinful deeds/  Papakarma of Praja/subjects 2) The priests/twice-born/Bhramin undergoes the  sufferings of the  sinful deeds of the King 3) Husband undergoes the sufferings of the sinful deeds of wife and 4) the preceptor undergoes the sufferings of the sinful deeds of his disciple.”
