Chapter
– 1 – Sri Guru Gita – 1 – 10
Lord Mahadeva speaks “ Oh! Mahadevi, listen
to me carefully. I shall describe the glorious Gurudhyana/contemplation upon
the preceptor, which is Bhoga Mokshapradha, could provide all the happiness and
Mukthi as well. 1) Srimath Parambhrama
Gurum Smarami/always remember the preceptor who symbolizes auspiciousness, 2) Srimath
Parambhrama Gurum Bhajami/always recite the glorious names of the preceptor who
is supreme Bhramam, 3) Srimath
Parambhrama Gurum Vadhami/always
contemplate upon the teachings of the Guru, 4) Srimath Parambhrama Gurum Namami/always prostrate
before the lotus feet of Preceptor. I shall prostrate before the
Sathguru/preceptor, who symbolizes Bhramanandha, imparts the knowledge of
all-pervasive Bhramam which is free from afflictions has neither birth nor
death, changeless, pure, unblemished, and supreme bliss. The Paramathma
Parambhramam resides as the soul is beyond attributes and comparison. It is
Gnanaswaroopa/wisdom, and lacks duality/Dhvandhabhava, free from impurities of
Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathscharya, like the vast sky of changeless
nature, clouds like the emotions form and disperse would not affect the sky.
The supreme Bhramam is the sole witness in the Jeeva, it is Yeka and Nithya as
well, it is the single source of the functioning of mind, intellect, Chitta,
Prana, Ahamkara, Karma, and Gnanendhriyas. I shall prostrate before that
supreme Preceptor who resembles the eternal Bhramam. The Mumukshu contemplate
upon the supreme Preceptor, who resides in the Hrithpadhma/lotus-like the heart
of the Sadhaka, seated on the magnificent throne, and has a charming appearance
adorned in the crescent moon, is the provider of bliss, Bhukthi, and Mukthi. The
Mumukshu meditate upon the supreme preceptor, who is attired in pure silk
clothe, smeared in highly fragrant sandalwood paste, adorned in the garland of fresh
alluring white flowers, and garlands of pearls and precious ornaments, has
pleasing appearance and sparkling eyes, and the Dhivyashakthi/Adhishakthi
seated on his left lap, and has a pleasing smile, he is the Lord of an ocean of
mercy. I shall reverentially prostrate before the supreme preceptor, who is
Anandhaswaroopa/bliss, he is the sole source of Anandha/happiness and wisdom, is
none other than the Bhramam, eulogized by Yogendhras, he is the supreme physician
to get rid of miseries and sorrows of worldly existence permanently/Bhavarogavaidhya.
I shall prostrate before the lotus feet of the preceptor, who enlightens the Jeeva
with the knowledge of ‘self/Athman is Paramathma, which is free from afflictions,
pure, changeless, eternal, has neither birth nor death, and the attachment to
Prakrithi/material matters of richness, wealth, money, fame, possession, etc.
that has fleeting nature, hence the interest in worldly matters and bondage are
nothing but Halahala/toxic poison that takes away the serenity of the mind. The
preceptor enlightens the Jeeva with the knowledge of the Paramathma
Parambhramam resides as the soul is Swathmanandhasamudhra/ocean of bliss. I shall
prostrate before the supreme Preceptor who represents the five types of deeds
such as Shrishti, Sthithi, Samhara, Nigraha, and Anugraha, whose lotus feet are
Dhavanalagni/colossal fire which is capable to destroy the dense wood of
worldly existence. The Mumukshu meditate upon the supreme Preceptor who symbolizes
Akara Kakara Dhakara syllables/Akshara Bhramam, seated in the middle of the triangle
positioned on the center of a thousand-petalled lotus flower.”
