Chapter – 68 - Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The practice of
devotion to protect from Garbhavasadhukham/sufferings in the womb
Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho,
people have the opinion that to conduct the worship of Lord Sri Hari and sing in
praise of Lord at the later years of age, but the ignorant Jeeva/human does not
understand the significance of ‘Time/death’, there is no guarantee of the life
span, the threat of Mrithyu is above the head always. Alas! In this way, the
unfortunate and ignorant ones keep hurling themselves into the
Garbhavasadhukham/repeated births/sufferings in the womb of the mother, and once
again go through the hellish torture in the mother’s womb, and get pushed out upside
down on the Earth after ten months. Oh! Prabho, the childhood days were spent
in various sports and amusements, and the youthful days were spent in the
interest in women, wealth, money, fame, relatives, companion, children, wife,
richness, etc. finally the elderly years has arrived, the constant fear of
death, anxieties, illnesses, grief, and sufferings of separation from beloved
ones did not allow me to do any of righteous deeds, or practice of devotion,
meditation, worship and contemplation at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari. Oh!
Ignorant and unfortunate Mortals, you have wasted rarest birth as human engaged
in various sins, keeping afar from the recitation of glorious names and worship
of Lord Sri Hari.”
