Chapter – 92- Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The ocean of worldly
existence/Samsarasagar resembles a bottomless dark well
Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Ignorant,
who is promising to you other than Lord Sri Hari? Who else is there to protect
you from the troubles of Thapathraya/three kinds of grief – Adhidheivik – grief
caused by natural calamities like flood, drought, famine, forest fire,
earthquake, epidemic, etc. Adhibhauthik- grief caused by the attachment of
possession, wealth, money, richness, fame, children, wife, companion and
relatives, etc., and the loss of any of the above, Adhyathmik – grief caused by
aging, illnesses, fear of death, and separation from beloved ones, etc. in the
Samsara? Oh! Jeeva, the Samsar/worldly existence is a powerful stream of
Kalaroopi/noose of death, and the illusion/Maya, the infinite Shabdha, Sparsha,
Rasa, Roopa, Gandha,/ worldly matters, and impurities of mind such as lust,
desire, ego, jealousy, pride, Ahamkara, and Mamakara are the powerful swirls in
it, they are extremely dangerous. Oh! Ignorant, the fleeting natured wealth,
possession, money, richness, fame, children, wife, companion, and relatives
cannot follow you, it is definite that either they have to leave or you have to
leave them, separation is inevitable in all walks of life like the people
traveled in a ferry walk away into different directions, immediately after
getting out of the ferry. Oh! Jeeva, the rarest birth of a human should be utilized
for achieving the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam resides as a soul and the practice of devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari. Oh! Ignorant, do not take pride in
your life which is momentary, remember that the noose of death is hanging above
your head incessantly. The worldly existence/Samsara, is nothing other than the
Universe of diversified worldly matters that resembles a deep and dark well, the Jeeva
drenched in the interest in infinite worldly matters, chasing after the material
and physical pleasures hurls into the deep dark well and constantly undergo the sufferings and grief of three kinds, in
this way, they repeatedly lose the opportunity to cross the ocean of worldly
existence/Bhavasagar, and throw themselves to the wombs of animals, birds,
reptiles, humans, etc. and take several births, the unfortunate and ignorant
Jeeva repeatedly listen to the learned but do not make an effort to bring into the practice of those wise words to get rid of Thapathraya and repeated cycles of
birth.”
