Chapter - 106 -Sri Vinaya Patrika – Ahalya Moksham – Jatayu Moksham – The
legend of Jayantha/son of Indhra, - Sugreevah and Vibheeshana Sharanagathi
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Sri
Ramachandra, you are too promising to your devotees, you have pleasant nature,
you are the storehouse of virtues and kindness, you are always willing to protect
your devotees. Oh! Prabho, Gauthama
Pathni Devi Ahalya has not performed any austerities or vows, she was cursed
to become rock due to her sins, she got relieved from the curse at the touch of
dust particles from your feet, and she praised your glories. Oh! Prabho,
Nishadharaja Guha who was born in the lowly clan, immersed in hunting, was soaked
in Thamasik nature, spend whole life aimlessly wandering like an animal in the
forest, as soon as he achieved your nearness, served you selflessly, got
purified himself, and became your dearest companion, you have embraced him
affectionately and considered as equal to Bharatha. Oh! Prabho, Jayanth, the son of Lord Indhra
disguised in the form of a crow, committed a grave sin, perforating the feet of
Devi Janaki, was shot by your arrow. He aimlessly wandered three worlds,
approached Lord Bhrama, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Mahesha to get protected from the
powerful Astra, invoked from the grass. Finally, Jayantha took shelter at your
feet was forgiven, and the crow lost one of its eyes as a punishment for the
sin and freed from fears. Oh! Prabho, Jayatu who was born in the Pakshi yoni,
consumed meat all his life, did he perform any Tapasya, Japa, or austerities?
You have performed the final rite/Anthyeshti Kriya for Jatayu who left mortal
coil on your lap, considered him equivalent to your father, thus Jatayu
achieved liberation from the Samsara. You have liberated all those Jeeva who have
taken shelter at your lotus feet, they were neither scholastic nor Yogis who
follow strict austerities. Oh!
Raghunath, Oh! Kripalu, you have been too kind to the Jeeva who have taken
shelter at your lotus feet. Oh! Prabho, Vanara Sugreevah who was hiding in the dense
wood due to the fear of his elder brother Bali, was taken shelter at your lotus
feet, you have removed his fears and grief, killed Bali, and crowned him as King
of Kishkindha, thus he united with his wife once again. Oh! Prabho, the younger
brother of Ravana, born in the Rakshasa clan and brother of your enemy was
taken shelter at your lotus feet, did he perform any austerities? He was
provided shelter and embraced affectionately by you. Later, he was crowned as
the King of Lanka. Oh! Prabho, Vanaras, and bears are considered as
inauspicious, even uttering their names would bring ill fortune, were taken
shelter at your lotus feet, and got purified themselves. Oh! Prabho, you have
purified all those Jeeva who have taken shelter at your lotus feet, Veda highly
eulogizes your glories. In this way, you have liberated the Jeevas from the
sufferings of worldly existence and protected them. Oh! Prabho, I am Tulsidas continuously
troubled by Ahamkara, Mamakara, Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya,
drenched in the Papakarma in the Kali era, why don’t you look at me? Why don’t
you shower your compassionate grace upon me?”
