Soundarya Lahari by Sri Adi Sankara !! Lyrics & Its meaning 71 – 80 !!

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

|| Shankara ||

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Goddess Uma, I shall earnestly pray to enlighten me to describe the loveliness of your hands to the vividness of your finger nails which tease the redness of the fresh alluring lotus flower.  Perhaps the lotus flower has obtained the redness from the liquid which was used to decorate the feet of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, I shall earnestly pray the two raised bosom of you which always shudder milk that was blissfully consumed by Skandha/Lord Subramanya and Heramba/Lord Ganesha, to destroy our grief and sorrows, and provide eternal happiness.  Heramba gets confused on the projected part on his body after witnessing the raised bosom of you; it brings huge laughter in both of you.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Victorious flag of King of Mountains, Your divine bosom are the reservoir of nectar in the pot made of rubies and there is no doubt in it,  due to this elephant faced Ganesha and Skandha/ slayer of Krounchasura remains young children all through their life without knowing the flattering moments with the woman.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Your glorious raised bosom is festooned with the garland made out of pearls which was found from inside the head of Gajasura, has the resemblance of your beautiful lips and Bimba fruit as well, you gracefully carry them on your chest like the fame of Lord Tripurari who destroyed the three cities.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Daughter of King of Mountains, The milk that flows from your raised bosom is the elixir of wisdom and intelligence which gives out the impression of Goddess Sri Saraswathi in the form of waves of nectar.  The milk fed out of compassion to a Dravida Child/Thiru Gnanasambhandhar became the renowned poet whose poetic works are matchless and capable to mesmerize the mind of the reader.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Daughter of King of Mountains, The Lord Manmatha was burnt by the wrath of Lord Hara,  he was immediately took rescue on your deep pond like hollow on the surface of stomach which caused a smoke emanated from it gave out an impression of thin line of hair projected upward from your navel.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Janani, Oh! Consort of Lord Shiva, learned men visualize the middle space on the chest as thin cave like space between the two raised bosoms, gives out an impression of small watercourse of river Kalindi/Yamuna, and the streak extends up to your navel is sparkling and becomes too thin due to the position of  heavy bosoms.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Daughter of King of Mountains, Your attractive hollow on surface of stomach is a stream of Ganga, which is safe and secure.  Is this stream of your hair line is the ladder towards the two raised bosoms like buds are the arena of Fire sacrifice or the place where initiate the cupid arrows of Lord Manmatha or the pleasure garden of Goddess Rathidevi, consort of Lord Manmatha or the serene cave where Lord Shiva undertakes severe penance ?.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Daughter of King of Mountains, Your slender waist looks feeble due to the heaviness of your raised bosom and it is slightly bent forward, gives out an impression of a delicate tree on the river banks, we earnestly prays for the strength of your slender waist evermore.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi,  The thoughts about Lord Shiva stir your emotions with an excitement and yearn for the pleasurable moments with your consort, it causes the raised bosom resembles the golden pot reaches its fullness, full of perspiration and threaten to tear off your upper piece of clothing, the middle part of your waist tend to break due to the heaviness of your bosom that was already tied by Lord Manmatha and the three lines around the middle part of the body resembles the creepers.

Soundarya Lahari by Sri Adi Sankara !! Lyrics & Its meaning 61 – 70 !!

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

|| Shankara ||

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Pride of Giri clan, your beautiful nose that resembles the thin piece of  bamboo shall provide us appropriate fruit as your blessings.  Your nose is a storehouse of precious pearls; the nose stud on your nose is a set of such marvelous pearls breathed out through your left nostril.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi,   I shall envision your beautiful smile and stunning rows of teeth through your blood red lips, I could compare the beauty of it to the fruit of coral creeper which has large, fleshy and hard skinned fruit.   But that too will hang its head hung down in utter shame, due to the failure in imitating the color of your lips and for being compared to its exquisite beauty.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, The Chakora birds feels that their tongues have turned out insensitive by continuous consumption of elixir of nectar like light emanating from your moon like face, afterward for an acerbic taste they have decided to consume the brilliant rays of full moon day.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Janani, your tongue has the color of the hibiscus flower, which recites the sacred hymns praising the glories of your consort Lord Shiva.  Goddess Sri Saraswathi resides at the tip of your tongue, though she is attired in white sparkling color, soon it turns out the color of ruby due to the astounding color of your tongue.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi,  All the deities, Lord Subramanya, Lord Vishnu and Lord Indra returned after a fierce battle with the demons, they have removed their protective shields and armor.  They do not prefer to consume the leftover of Lord Shiva that was exclusively belongs to Chandikeshwara, so blissfully swallowing the half chewed betel with camphor offered from your mouth.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, You shudder your head attractively, utter the words in great joy and appreciation while listening to the melodious music praising the glories of Lord Pasupathi by Goddess Sri Saraswathi accompanied by the divine instrument Veena, instantly she turns off the instrument after listening to your sweetness in your voice by covering it, in order to avoid to put shame on the strings which plays harmoniously.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Girisuthey, how can I describe the beauty of your Chin that was caressed with the tips of finger by your father Himavan with utmost affection?  And the matchless beauty of your lips, works as a grip to mirror like face and perfectly apt to be touched by Lord Shiva was often lifted in a hurry to drink the nectar from it.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, your attractive neck with the bodily hairs sanding out in passion due to the frequent embrace of Lord Tripurari, resembles the beautiful stalk of lotus flower,  the pearl garland adorned on your neck and  the sandal paste applied has become stained by the intense gratifying moment, like the stalk of lotus get dirtied in mud.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, who is proficient in Gathi, Gamakam and Gita that are essential parts in of any music, the three auspicious lines on your neck reminds the sacred thread tied around your neck during your marriage, it also exposes the three essentials of Shadjamam/Sa, Madhyamam/Ma and Gandharam / Ga of music.

Oh ! Goddess Sri Shakthi, The one of the Trinities Lord Brahma who was born out of lotus is frightened of the sharp finger nails of Lord Shiva who vanquished the demon Andhaka and plucked out one of the heads of Lord Brahma, he eulogized the beauty of your four attractive and merciful hands which resembles the lotus flower stalk, seeking protection of his remaining heads.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Your momentary looks are filled with various emotions, your glance towards your consort Lord Shiva is full of love and your glances at others are aversion, your glance at Ganga is full of envious, while listening to the heroic deeds of Lord Shiva your glance turns wondrous, your glance becomes terrified at the serpents worn as ornaments by Lord Shiva, your glance becomes joyous while you meet your companions.  Your fleeting looks are marvelous and red in color which represents the valor in you.  Oh! Janani who is the mother of Universe, I shall pray for your glance filled with compassion.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, daughter of Himavan, You have those marvelous eyes that has extended up to ears which has the resemblance of the bow of Lord Kamadeva.  The astonishing eyelashes resemble the feathery wings attached to the cupid arrow.  Your beautiful eyes and eye lashes has the power to disturb the serenity of the mind of Lord Tripurari, who is the  destroyer of the three cities.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Lord Bhrama, Lord Vishnu and Lord Rudra ceased to function at the time of deluge.  Your three eyes reveal three different colors after applying the shades which represents the important qualities of Rajas, Sathva and Tamas to recreate the trinities.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, whose heart is immersed in the thoughts of Lord Pasupathi,  Your three merciful eyes are in colors of Red, White and Black which resembles the three holy river Sonabhadhra, Ganga and Yamuna who is daughter of Lord Surya respectively.  The confluence of these sacred rives was introduced by you to wash off our sins and purify us.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, as per the learned men it is believed that the deluge occur when your eyes are closed and the creations recommences when you open your eyes.  Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, I  shall earnestly pray to never close your eyes and protect the universe from the deluge.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Aparna, your beautiful eyes has stretched up to ears which creates an impression that the striking fishes swimming crosswise in the water, as if complaining the movements of them to your ears.  Your lotus eyes avoid the bud of blue lily during the day hours and returns to witness the blue lily come into flower in the night hours.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, I am your passionate devotee in a miserable state living far away from you, I shall earnestly prays to bathe me in the ocean of your compassion.  Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, I shall request you to shower your divine and merciful glance on me, with those beautiful eyes shines like the slightly opened bud of blue lily, in the same manner Lord Chandra illuminates the dark forest and palaces.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, daughter of King of Mountains, the marvelous rim between the eyes and ears gave out an impression of flower bow of Lord Kamadeva, the stunning glance of your beautiful eyes extended up to your ears gives out an impression that the arrows are ready to discharge.

Oh Goddess Sri Shakthi, Your mirror like cheeks reflects the pair of ear studs adorned, gives out an impression of chariot with four wheels.  Lord Manmatha desires to ride on this magnificent chariot to entice Lord Shiva, who is mounted on a chariot made of Earth has Lord Surya and Lord Chandra as its wheels.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Your melodious voice like nectar stream incessantly to the ear stud of Goddess Sri Saraswathi.  Goddess Sri Saraswathy quavers her head in appreciation and her precious ear stud makes jingling sounds.

Himagirisuthey/daughter of mount Himavan, I  shall envision your majestic golden crown worn on the head is decorated with the precious gems of Ruby which represents twelve Adityas and the lustrous crescent moon on the divine crown that causes diverse colors of reflection of a rainbow, the bow of Lord Indra.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Oh! Consort of Lord Shiva,  I  shall envision the luster of your long & thick curly hair locks resembles the dark forest of fully bloomed blue lotuses, imagine that all those alluring flowers of Lord Indra’s garden resides in your beautiful hair locks to enjoy the richness of natural fragrance of it.  I shall earnestly pray that your lustrous hair lock that would remove the darkness of ignorance in our hearts.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, You have a striking face and shimmering teeth with beautiful smile on it.  Lord Shiva burnt Lord Manmatha with his third eye; his eyes are like ravenous honey bees obsessed with the beauty of your face and its forelocks that are attractive like swarm of honey bees making fun of the beauty of the lotuses.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, you are omnipresent.  Whoever realizes the supreme bliss will venerate you with utmost devotion and dedication, reciting the quintessence of sacred hymns of Lord Manmatha, Goddess Sri Bhuvaneshwari and Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, such as ‘Kleem’ ‘Hreem’ and ‘Sreem’ and performs fire sacrifices to please Lord Shiva by offering ghee of Surabhi in abundance.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Your consort Lord Shiva has the pure crystal form that creates the element of space in your Vishuddhi Chakra.  Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi I shall meditate upon both of you whose thoughts are indistinguishable and the brilliance emanating has the resemblances of moon light which is capable to remove the darkness of ignorance from the mind of worshiper like the chirping of Chakora bird in the light of Full Moon.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, I  shall meditate upon the two swans like Lord Shiva and Goddess Sri Shakthi in the mind of virtuous, where they are taking great pleasure in the consumption of nectar from the lotus of knowledge. The eighteen divine forms of arts have been created from the twittering of the swans that are good in separating the good from the bad, like water from the milk.
