Sri Surdas Maharaj – Sri Sur – Vinaya – Pathrika – The practice of meditation and contemplation upon Lord Sri Hari to get rid of sufferings of worldly existence and repeated births

Chapter – 302-  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The practice of meditation and contemplation upon Lord Sri Hari to get rid of sufferings of worldly existence and repeated births

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mind, meditate and contemplate upon the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari personified as Krishna, the son of Nandhababa. He is supreme Bhramam Lord Sri Hari whose lotus feet are contemplated by the illustrious Sanaka, Sanandhan, Santhkumara and Sanathan, Lord Shankara, Rishis, and Sages, and it is the ultimate asylum of the soul. The Supreme Lord Sri Hari is the purifier of souls, destroyer of sins, and grief of worldly existence. The Veda and scriptures highly emphasize the glories of the worship of the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari and the meditation upon him, the Sesha/Adhishesha, Goddess Sarada, Devarishi Narada, illustrious Rishis and Sages constantly meditate upon the lotus feet of that supreme Lord. Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi relentlessly caresses the lotus feet of the Lord to achieve the dust particles from the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari. The touch of the lotus feet of Lord Hari was the origin of the sacred river Ganga on the Earth, purifying the three worlds with the presence of her sacred watercourses. Oh! Mind, contemplation, and meditation upon the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari is the source of welfare and happiness to the whole Universe, it would destroy the sins of the worshiper, and is capable to liberate from the sufferings and grief of worldly existence, several grave sinners had attained the Bhagavathprapthi/nearness to the Lord by merely reciting the sacred names of the Lord/Sri Ramanama. The dust particles of the supreme Lord Rama removed the curse of Gauthama Pathni Devi Ahalya, and the ferryman who insisted on the ritual bath at the feet of Lord Rama, Devi Sita, and Lakshman, before getting on the board, had achieved the highest of fortune to consume the water/Charanodhaka of Lord Rama. Oh! Mind, there is nothing equivalent to the Charanodhaka of Lord, it is the purifier of the souls, that removes the cycles of birth and death.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj – Sri Sur – Vinaya – Pathrika – The practice of perpetual devotion to perceive the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam

Chapter – 300-  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The practice of perpetual devotion to perceive the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho, Oh! Shyamabalarama,/the handsome Lord Shyamsundhar and Lord Balarama, I have already surrendered at your lotus feet, I have no one to protect me from the sufferings and grief of worldly existence. I have not pleased any demi-gods to fulfill my desires not even in my dreams. Oh! Prabho, Oh! Sri Hari, you are my Japa/utterance of sacred hymns, you are my Thapa/penance, you are my Niyama/austerities for self-control, and source to get rid of my impurities of the mind such as lust, desire, ego, anger jealousy, pride, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, you are my vows/Shamadhamadhi. Oh! Prabho, you are that supreme Bhramam and the fruit of my pure love which I perceive in everything and everywhere. You are the concept of my meditation, you are the ultimate goal of my life, hence kindly shower perpetual devotion/Ananya Bhakthi at your lotus feet.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj – Sri Sur – Vinaya – Pathrika – ‘Bhrama Sathyam Jagath Mithya’/soul is eternal, and all the material matters are an illusion – The liberated souls

Chapter – 299-  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika –‘Bhrama Sathyam Jagath Mithya’/soul is eternal, and all the material matters are an illusion – The liberated souls

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mortals, the fortunate ones contemplate and meditate upon the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari by word, mind, and deed. They abandon their interest in worldly matters of infinite sounds, passion, touch, smell, and appearances. They undertake austerities, Shama, Dhama, Sathyam, Dhaya, Dhanam, Ahimsa, Arjjavam, Astheyam, Bhramacharya, Swadhyaya, etc., and get rid of the impurities of the mind, the attachment to the possession, wealth, money, fame, children, wife, companion, relatives, etc. The constant remembrance of the sacred names of the Supreme Lord, and his endless glories would take away the interest in worldly matters of fleeting nature, finally, they achieve the superior state of Samadhi/transcendental, and remain in perpetual bliss, are the liberated souls.  The Universe and the infinite material matters seem ‘unreal’ like dreams to them, they do not feel hunger or thirst, cold or heat, disgrace or honor, joy or grief, happiness or sorrow, they grow beyond the sufferings of the dualities. These liberated souls will not have friends or foes, grief or joy, they roam fearlessly, perceiving the all-pervasive Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam resides as a soul in living and non-living things/Oneness-in-all/ which is flawless, unblemished, eternal bliss, and has no color, religion, faith, belief, clan, appearance, etc. These liberated souls live in permanent bliss while living on Earth without getting attached to worldly matters, and afterlife they attain union with the supreme Bhramam so that they need not return to worldly existence or repeated births.”
