Paramathma, who is beyond description and perception, has possessed indescribable valor, you are the source of Universe merged in illusion, and you are supremely divine and auspicious, reclining on the bed of serpent Anantha in the milky ocean.  We shall prostrate before the protector of the deities who has personified as cowherd, Lord of the Earth and Lord of the Lords along with his consort,  Oh! Ananyasharana, who is the safest haven, we shall surrender to you, kindly protect us.”

Sanakadhis and Rishis eulogized the significance of sacred names of Lord Narayana “ The recitation of sacred names Rama, Krishna, and Govindha  with intense love would provide abundance of meritorious rewards of bathing in the sacred river Prayaga, recitation of these sacred names  does not bound by direction, region, time or zone, and it is easily accessible, and it is attainable only with the association and grace of illustrious preceptor who is the ocean of mercy, sacred chants of Rama is Ganga confluence with the sacred chant of Krishna, likewise Yamuna and Govindha, Saraswathi with devotion.  He dwells in the hearts of Yogis, he is supreme soul who has various forms, he represents Vageesha/Lord Bhrama, Lord Vishnu and Lord Rudra, he is the sustainer of the whole Universe and disperse the fruit of Karma, he has matchless virtues, he is eternal and has pleasant disposition, and provider of propitious rewards, he is the essence of Rig, Yajur and Sama Veda, he eradicates Ragas/jealous and pride, Lobha/greed, distress and provides serenity.   It is not like  bathing in sacred ponds, Sandhyajapa/detailed prayers during the hours of dawn, noon and dusk, performance of sacrifices and  recitation of sacred hymns,  and  Tharpana/homage to ancestors which  provides  multitudes of pieties, bathing in the sacred ponds, utterance of sacred names  in heart, recitation of sacred names and eulogizes the glories of supreme Lord, self less service to Lord, singing and dancing to the tune of glories of supreme Lord, one will attain Mukthi/liberation from repeated births with the practice of intense Bhakthi/devotion, Virakthi/renunciation, and Vijjana/wisdom  through the practice of  renunciation,  Yaga/fire sacrifices, Yoga, absence from Raga/lust and greed, Bhoga/pleasure and practice of sacrifice, attainment of  knowledge of  Bhramavidhya/branch of spiritual knowledge and search for the same and experience it.  The absence of self knowledge and realization of God, results in affliction from vicious Samsara.  Supreme Lord Narayana who is the destroyer of darkness of sins, has the effulgent Lord Adithya, he is the Theertharaja who is the purifier of Saint Sri Narayanatheertha as well.”  In this way, Sanakadhis eulogized the significance of sacred names of supreme Lord Narayana/Sheshashayin.

Sri Krishnaleela Tharangini by Sri Narayana Theertha – Prathama Sarga: Mangalacharanam 5 - Lyrics and meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

I shall meditate upon supreme Lord who has various incarnations such as Mathsya/giant fish, Koorma/tortoise, Varaha/wild boar, Naramriga/half lion and half man, Vamana/dwarf, Bhargava/Parasurama, Rama, Balarama and Krishna.  Oh! Krishna, Oh! Kripasamudhra who is the ocean of mercy, Lord who is free from desires personified as Buddha, he is the store house of virtues, Oh! Krishna, who have impending manifestation as Kalki, he is the destroyer of wicked people, he is supreme Lord of deities, he is eternal and pure, he is supreme bliss, he is supreme Lord who is incarnated in most pleasing form,  he symbolizes purity and he is Paramapavana/purifier of souls, he is incarnated as cowherd, he is beloved of cowherds, young maidens of cowherds and cattle, he is Achyutha who is mysterious and Parathathva, he is the destroyer of miseries and sorrows of worshiper, he is the protector of Narayanatheertha and Victory to Gopala/little Krishna who is personified as cowherd and protector of cows !

Sri Krishnaleela Tharangini is the quintessence of devotion to Lord Vasudeva who symbolizes fortune, in order to cultivate intense devotion in the intellect, it comprises the birth of Krishna and various amusements of Krishna as a little lad of cowherd, and the marvelous fairy tales of protector of cowherds and the cows, mischievous Krishn’s pilfering  clothes of young maidens of cowherds, Krishna elevates the Mount Govardhana, Krishnas most celebrated Rasaleela with the beautiful young maidens of cowherds, Kamsa’s death, Krishnas arrival to the sacred city Dwaraka, Krishnas wedding ceremony with Rukmini.  The glorious verses of Krishnaleela Tharangini begin with the birth of Lord Krishna, and followed by the imprisonment of Ugrasena, Devaki and Vasudeva. Lord Bhrama, Lord Indra, Goddess Earth and Sanakadhis approaches Lord Hari, after listening to their appeal, Lord Hari decides to incarnate on Earth as eighth child of Devaki and Vasudeva, seven children were already killed immediately after the birth by Kamsa, at the advice of Maharishi Narada, seventh child was Sangharshana, Krishna was brought to Gokulam immediately after birth, later he was moved to Mathura due to the harassment of numerous wicked demons.

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

Victory to Ramanatha who is the consort of Goddess Rama/Sri Mahalakshmi ! Victory to Dharanatha who is the consort of Goddess Earth/Dhara ! Victory to Lord Sri Venkatesa who is the presiding deity in Varahapura !  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord who is the essence of Veda, he is eternal, he is pure and supreme bliss, and he destroys illusion, Oh! Hare you are the provider of pure wisdom.   He is mounted on celestial vehicle Garuda, he is the annihilator of demons, he is the storehouse of virtues, he is absolute truth, he is Madhusoodhana who is the destroyer of demon Madhu, he is imperishable, he is the creator of Universe and its living beings wielded in Maya/delusion, he has Vidhu/moon and Dhivakara/sun as eyes, Oh! Hare you symbolizes Vedantha.   He is worshiped by Lord Bhrama, Surendhra/Indra, and deities, his glorious myths are eulogized by Yogis, Sages and Rishis.  He is the destroyer of demons Mura and Narakasura, he is the destroyer of ignorance in worshiper, he is the provider of auspiciousness to passionate devotees who are surrendered at his lotus feet,  Oh! Hare, you are beyond description or perception, you are too compassionate and you are the safest haven in the whole Universe, you are most desirable to wise preceptor Sri Narayanatheertha. Oh! Krishna, Oh! Kripasindho/ocean of mercy, you are nectar in the ocean of devotion, kindly elevate us, Oh! Jagannatha, kindly protects us from the ocean of illusion and desires.
