|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

Sri Kanakadhara Stothram was composed by Sri Adi Sankaracharya praising the splendor of  Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi.

Oh! Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi your are finding immense pleasure in the various fragrances from the enchanting dark complexioned body of Lord Hari, like the full bloom flowers of Tamala trees attracts the honey bees Oh! Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, I earnestly pray to shower prosperity with your auspicious glance.  Oh! Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, who is originated from the milky ocean, keeps showering her fleeting look filled with compassion and love on Lord Hari/Murari, like honey bees attracted towards the striking blue lotuses, let that auspicious glances shower affluence to me.   Oh! Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, consort of Lord Hari/Mukunda who is in Yoganidra/inclining posture on the giant serpent Adishesha, your beautiful stares with half closed eyes in shy and affection on him would bring immense bliss; shower your auspicious glance on me to attain prosperity.  Oh! Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi resides in the lotus, consort of Lord Hari who won over the demon Madhu, wears Kousthubha and Indraneela, keeps showering your enchanting glance on Him, let that fleeting look fall on me to bring all the goodness.  Oh ! Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, daughter of Sage Bhargava, who resides on the broad chest of Lord Hari, slayer of Kaitabha, she shines like streak of lightening amidst of dark cloud, shower your grace on me to attain prosperity.  Oh! Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, consort of Lord Hari, slayer of Madhu who is approachable by Lord Manmatha, therefore her auspicious glances are loaded with compassion and love that are capable to bring prosperity, let that momentary look fall on me too.  Her auspicious glances which makes the Supreme Lord Hari/slayer of Madhu blissful, are capable to make sacred as Lord Indra, her fleeting look brought back the glories and kingdom to Lord Indra.  Oh! Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, the mother of the Universe your single glance is capable to provide salvation and a place in the heaven for your worshipper that is extremely difficult to obtain, let your glance fall on me and fulfill my desires.  Oh! Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, consort of Lord Narayana, your mercy is like a gentle breeze, shower the rain of compassion and wealth on this parched land and quench the thirst of Chakora bird, eradicate the loads of sins committed through your divine glance from the cloud like dark eyes.

My  humble salutations to the Mother of the Universe, She is the personification of eternal Knowledge & Wisdom, She is the consort of Lord Hari, who has Garuda as celestial vehicle, She is the representation of deluge at the end of each Yuga, She is the consort of Supreme Lord who has crescent moon on matted hair locks, She performs creation, preservation and destruction.

My humble  salutation to the Mother of the Universe, consort of Supreme Lord Hari, daughter of ocean and provider of nectar, eight elephants shove off from the golden vessel into diverse direction and holy Ganga streaming to heaven for your ablutions.  She is the embodiment of lotus; she is the consort of Supreme Lord Narayana who has the eyes resemblance to lotus and her fleeting looks are loaded with mercy.  I myself poorest of the poor earnestly pray to shower your glance on me so that I may become the recipient of your compassion.  Oh! Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, controller of the Universe, protects us with the gaze through your lotus like eyes and forgives me.  My heart is filled with the fear of poverty; I surrender to you wholly, protect me with your unparalleled compassion.
