I shall prostrate before supreme Goddess
Sri Mahalakshmi who is Mahamaya/great illusionist, dwells in the
Sripeedam/divine wheel of Sri Chakra, she is worshipped by all the deities/Surapoojitha,
she carries Shankha/conch, Chakra/wheel
and Gadha/mace/Shankhachakragadhahasthe.
I shall prostrate before supreme Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who is seated
on her celestial vehicle Garuda/Garudaroode, she is the slayer of Kolasura, she
is the destroyer of all the sins/Sarvapapahare.
I shall prostrate before supreme Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who is
omniscient/Sarvajja, she is the provider of abundance of boons to her devotees/Sarvavaradha,
she is the destroyer of enemies and wicked people, she is the destroyer of grief and sorrows/Sarvadhukkahare. I shall prostrate before supreme Goddess Sri
Mahalakshmi who is the provider of Siddhi/super natural powers as well as
intelligence and wisdom, she is the provider of Bhukthi/fruition as well
Mukthi/salvation, she is the essence of Veda and sacred hymns. I shall prostrate before supreme Goddess Sri
Mahalakshmi who has no beginning or end, she is primordial, and she is the
essence of Yoga and provider of meritorious rewards of Yoga. I shall prostrate before supreme Goddess Sri
Mahalakshmi who has miniscule form and invisible as well, she has fierce form,
she has immense power and she carries the whole Universe in her stomach, she is
the destroyer of greatest of the sins. I
shall prostrate before supreme Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who is seated on the
Padmasana/Padmasana posture on lotus flower, she is the symbol of Parambhramam,
she is the supreme Goddess of the Universe/Parameshi, and she is the Mother of
the Universe/Jaganmatha. I shall prostrate before supreme Goddess Sri
Mahalakshmi who is attired in white majestic garments, she is decked in various
ornaments, she is omnipresent and she is the Mother of the Universe.
Whoever reads or listens to the glorious
verses of Sri Mahalakshmi Ashtakam with utmost faith and devotion, would be
blessed with all kinds of Siddhi/supernatural powers and abundance of wealth in
the form of Kingdom. Whoever reads or
listen to the above verses once in a day would be relieved from all kinds of
sins, whoever reads or listen to the above verses twice a day would be blessed
with abundance of wealth and unlimited supply of grains, whoever reads or
listen to the above verses thrice a day would overcome enemies and would be
blessed with the eternal presence of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi.
