Sri Kunjavihara Ashtakam – II – Lyrics and meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

I shall meditate upon Kunjjavihari who is charismatic and attractive stature like Manmatha, he is under the influence of powerful waves like passionate stares of Radharani, and he is always pleasant, his beautiful curly hair locks are decked in feathers of peacock, he has the complexion of dark clouds.  I shall meditate upon Kunjjavihari , who is in the middle of beautiful young maidens of Vraja who are decorated in various precious ornaments, beautifully playing various divine instruments like Veena, Venu, percussions etc… and they are marvelously  dancing to the dunes of melodious music.  I shall meditate upon Kunjjavihari who is Thribuvana mohana, capable to entice the three worlds, decorated in highly fragrant musk, he is beautifully playing melodious music on his flute which produces the note Gandhara, accompanied by peacocks scream and chirping of cuckoos which produce the sound of Shadjamam and Panchamam respectively.  I shall meditate upon Kunjjavihari who is holding the beautiful hands of Radharani and explores through the attractive gardens, surrounded by the beautiful young maidens who are singing in chorus.  I shall meditate upon Kunjjavihari who is surrounded by the numerous beautiful young maidens of Vraja in the pond, where peacocks are merrily dancing to the tunes of melodious music from the divine flute, honey bees are flooding with noises.  I shall meditate upon Kunjjavihari, who is completely immersed in the amorous sport with the young maidens of Vraja and in this manner he passes abundance of joy to them, in between he is whispering to their ears with beautiful smile.   I shall meditate upon Kunjjavihari who is praising the beauty of Radharani whose beautiful plait of hair is mesmerizing capable to create jealous in peacock, her attractive eyes are admired by deer, and her eyebrows are well liked by the pack of honey bees.  I shall meditate upon Kunjjavihari who is surrounded by the beautiful young maidens of Vraja who are besieged by the cupid arrows of Manmatha, and taking immense pleasure in keeping his hands on the shoulders of the young maidens whose beautiful plait of hair is loosened in amorous sport.

Whoever reads or listens to the Kunjjavihara Ashtakam which describes the amorous sport of supreme Lord Krishna with the young maidens of Vraja, would be blessed with salvation by Kunjjavihari who is venerated by virtuous Radharani.
