Eshvara speaks “ Oh! Devi, listen to me carefully, thousands of sacred names of  supreme Goddess Mathangi is highly propitious and superior among all the greatest philosophies, it has a particular kind of meter, it fulfills all the desires of the worshiper and provides success in all endeavors, it  removes failures and humiliation in assembly and battle fields, whoever reads or listens to it with intense devotion and faith would remain most accomplished Sadhaka of Deveshi, worshiper would attain all kinds of auspiciousness, it provides the meritorious reward of performance of thousands of Ashwamedha Yaga, and thousands and millions of Vajapeya Yagna, Goddess Mathangi will get highly pleased with the recitation of these sacred names and worshiper will attain all the wellness.  It was composed by Rishi Mathanga, it has Anushtup as Chandhass, it is recited to attain all the auspiciousness, richness, wealth and opulence.”


I shall prostrate before supreme  Goddess Mathangi who has personified as sixteen year old beautiful young woman, she is mounted on corpse, she takes immense pleasure in the consumption spirituous intoxicated drink, she has lustrous dark blue complexion, she is attired in crimson colored garment, she has large and high bosom, she holds bunch of flowers, she is pure, she holds Kapala, she is zealous, she performs the essential functions of the Universe, I shall meditate upon Bhagavathi and envision her in my lotus like heart, she has personified as Chandalini, she has marvelous appearance too, she is worshiped by intellectuals, wise and learned, she has pleasing disposition and lovely appearance, she has embodied as sacred river, she is adorned in crescent moon on the crown, she is eulogized with sacred chants, she is worshiped by all the deities, she has spectacular appearance, she is the source of all kinds of wealth and prosperity, she symbolizes excitement and passion, she is worshiped by sacred river Sindhu, she is beloved and chaste wife of Shambu, she has most pleasing disposition, she is most rewarding, she symbolizes nectar, she has the loveliness of antelope, and  honey bee,  she represents plant which yields Somarasa, season, and  time, she is epitome of beauty, she is adorned in garlands of flowers from the wood, her beautiful eyes has the appearance of lotus flower petals, she merrily explore through the dense wood, she represents dense wood and she resides in the woods, she has great speed and might, she has personified as Kali who is beloved of Kala, she performs various passionate sport, she is lotus born Kamala, she is dearest darling of Kala, she is Kamala who resides in lotus flowers, she is adorned in crescent moon, she was born in the illustrious clan, she has beautiful curve, she entices the Universe with her mesmerizing beauty, she resembles Kokila/female cuckoo and her sweet talks resemble to chirping of birds, she holds parrot earrings and armlets, she has the appearance of fully blossomed lotus flower, she is lustrous like lotus flower, she augments satisfaction, grace, pleasure, affection, and  love, she is fond of veneration with the flowers of lotus, her eyes has the resemblance to the eyes of antelope, she represents noble clan, she has the luster of lotus flower, she has the complexion of precious yellow metal, she is adorned in various precious ornaments all over the body that spread intense luster, she is adorned in magnificent waist ornament and anklets, she can be formidable, she represents Karana/activity, kind of time, skill, loveliness, Kashta/measure of time, and lotus flower, she is decked in bow and arrow, she is Karpadhini who has attractive matted hair locks, she is smeared in highly fragrant musk and adorned in crescent moon, she holds parrot, she is youthful always, she represents herb, she is fond of veneration with the fresh alluring flowers, she is mounted on female consort of Kama, she is the source of desire, she is Kameshi who is worshiped by Kamadeva, she symbolizes amorous sport, she is Kamakhya who is beloved of Kamari, she is fond of being eulogized by intellectuals and wise, she symbolizes wisdom and supreme intellect, she is decked in Khadga and Khadvanga, she has possessed various super natural powers, she holds ladle, she represents air, sun, wind, and deities, she takes immense pleasure in various pastime,  she symbolizes perception, knowledge, glory, idea, notion,  opinion, and sense of abandonment, she removes the sense of disappointment, and betrayal, she is Gauri who represents sacred rivers Ganga, Godavari, Gauthami,  and Gomathi.
