Sri Sanathsujatheeyam – Sri Mahabharath - Sri Shankarabhashyam – Bhashyam – 32 – How did the Karma become Bandhahethu?

Chapter 19 - Bhashyam –  32 - How did the Karma become Bandhahethu?

Sage Sanathkumara speaks “Oh Rajan, “Gnanena Thishtan Na Bibhethi Mrithyo:”, the Bhrama Gnana is the only source to achieve ‘Amrithyu’/immortality.  In the earlier verses, I have described the ‘Pramadha’ as ignorance/lack of knowledge of the supreme Bhramam which is all-pervasive, pure, unblemished, eternal, changeless, and free from afflictions, has no death or birth.  The ‘Mrithyu’/ignorance is the interest in worldly matters, attachments to families, relatives, children, possession, money, richness, and fame which have momentary lives, hence the ‘Bhrama Gnana’, is the knowledge of destructible Prakrithi/money, people, wealth, richness, etc. and the indestructible Bhramam resides as soul/Paramathma, only could provide ‘Moksha’/free from afflictions to the Jeeva.”

Dhritarashtra speaks “Oh! Mahamune, Veda strongly recommend the Vedic rites performed by the honorable twice-born, the performance all those righteous deeds of spiritual and religious rites without yearning the fruitful results, are Paramapurusharththa. Why they do not get attached with the performance of Karma?”

Sage Sanathkumara speaks “Oh! Rajan, I shall describe how the Karma became Bandhahethu/reason for the attachment. The Veda strongly affirms that the Karma like Jyothishtoma, and various sacrificial rites performed without yearning the fruitful results, by the Sadhus/noble souls who are Dharmarooda/symbolizes Dharma, the places where these righteous deeds are carried out by these noble souls are considered as pious, Pavithra, Sanathana, are known as Pararththa/ Karma performed for the welfare of The universe and its living beings and Paramapurusharththa.  The intellectual/learned who has profound knowledge of the welfare of the Universe and its living beings which could provide Paramapurusharththa, how did they keep remote from the performance of those righteous deeds? A Bhramavithth who constantly takes pleasure in the ‘Athmarathi’, take shelter in the supreme Purusha/Bhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva, and discard all those material welfare, attachments to people, money, wealth, richness and fame etc. that has fleeting nature. Hence a Bhramavithth sincerely follows Sanathanabhootha Karma for the welfare of the Universe and its living beings.”
