Chapter 21 - Bhashyam – 35 Paramathma
is Jeevathma
Dhritarashtra speaks “Oh! Mune, If the
Paramatma is all-pervasive, Purana/primordial, and Aja/has no birth or death,
Is that Paramathman has independent existence? Kindly describe it in detail. The
Paramathma is the eternal truth, he is
the cause for the creation of the Universe and its living and non-living things,
that Paramathman is inseparable from Prakrithi, primeval, is the absolute
truth, he is Aja/has no birth, how did he present in the Samsara? Who inspires
him to be in the Samsara? Is that Paramathman
is Independent nature or needs any support for his existence? If he is independent,
then why it is necessary for him to go through Nanayoni/various births? If that
supreme Bhramam does not enter into the Nanayoni, can’t it survive? Oh! Learned
one, kindly describes all that to me. The Bhramavithth Bhagavan Yajjavalkya
described the ‘Athman’ which is the source for the creation of the Universe and living
and non-living things, and that ‘Athman is Paramathma’. If that is the case, why did the Bhramam take
birth in the Papayoni? How did that unblemished, pure supreme Bhramam reside in
the Jeeva of Anishtabhava/unfavorable nature?”
Sage Sanathkumara speaks “Oh! Rajan, the
all-pervasive Bhramam enters in the Papa and Punyayoni without getting attached
to it, the Anadhiyoga gets freed the Jeeva from the cycles of birth.”
