Chapter
– 41 – Viveka Choodamani - 401 – 410
Preceptor
speaks “Oh! Mune, the light of wisdom removes the darkness of ignorance, the
Athmajjana removes the illusion in the Jeeva, with the knowledge of the
destructible Prakrithi/richness, wealth, money, possession, richness,
attachment to people, fame, etc. and the indestructible Purusha/Paramathma resides
as soul, and the Jeeva achieve serenity contemplating upon that Adhvatheeya,
Paramathma Parambhramam. The Bhramanubhoothi removes the Abhedhabhava/the difference of Jeevathma and Paramathma, Sadhaka experiences the Eka, Adhvaitha
Sacchidhanandaswaroopa Paramathma as in the Sushupthi/sleep, the influence of Maya in the
Jagrthavastha/awakening causes the Jeeva to get attached to worldly matters and
bondage. The illusion causes to witnesses the water in the desert, and snake in
the rope, and when the doubts get cleared, the fear instilled in the Jeeva disappears.
In this way, Bhramanubhoothi removes the trepidations in the Jeeva, repeating
the short-living nature of Prakrithi/material matters, and body, and thereby
removes the attachment to it. Athmajjani contemplates and meditates upon that
indestructible Paramathma Parambhramam resides as a soul and remains free from trepidations.
The Shruthi repeatedly affirms that the Bhramam is the eternal truth, the
Prapancha is Mithya/illusion. The Sushupthi/sleep is the state of serene,
removes all the exhaustion, redundant thoughts, trepidations, is free from
illusion, likewise the State of transcendental is free from redundant thoughts.
The Bhedhabhava/I and body consciousness caused due to the ignorance and
illusion, get removed with the knowledge of Bhramam. The Jagth/Universe initiated from the supreme
Bramham. The all-pervasive Bhramam is
pure, indestructible, free from afflictions, changeless, and has neither birth nor
death. The knowledge of that Bhramam resides as the soul is the Paramarththa
Thaththva, it would remove all the illusions in the Jeeva. The Prapancha is Vikalpa/diversities,
caused by the illusion of the mind, and it has short-living nature, and it continues
to exist as long as the Chiththa wedged on the Dhrishya, infinite Nama and
Roopa. During the state of Sushupthi/sleep, the Prapancha, infinite Nama and
Roopa disappears from the mind, the Jeeva/Athman merges in the Paramathma
resides as a soul in it. Hence, the mind and intellect merged in the
all-pervasive supreme Bhramam resides as a soul in the Jagrathavastha/awakening
is the transcendental state. Mahathma constantly contemplate upon that supreme
Bramham which is free from dualities, Anandha Ghanaswaroopa/symbolizes supreme
bliss, Nithyamuktha/independent, Nireeha/free from emotions, Nishkala/innocent,
Nirvikalpa/beyond perception, Parmathma Parambhramam, and remains in the state
of supreme bliss. Mahathma immerses in the contemplation of that supreme Bhramam
which is free from Prakrithi and Vikrithi/changes, Bhavanatheetham/beyond
perception, incomparable, eulogized by the Veda and Vedantha, which is perceivable
through mind and intellect with the practice of austerities, vows, meditation, contemplation, and observance of celibacy, etc. and achieves the state of Samadhi. Mahathma
perceives that Nirmala/pure, Nithyashudhdha/eternal and unblemished,
Anandhaghanaswaroopa, Paramathma Parambhramam free from afflictions, dualities,
Nama and Roopa, and attributes, Shashvatha/permanent, Shanthaswaroopa/serene
and achieves the supreme state of Samadhi. Oh! Mune, get rid of 1) interest in
worldly matters of infinite Nama and Roopa, 2) attachment from worldly matters
and bondage, 3) impurities such as Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathscharya,
and contemplate upon that Akhanda Sacchidhananda Swaroopa Paramthma Parambhramam
resides as soul. In this way, uproot the tree of Samsara, the darkness of
ignorance, and the sufferings of worldly existence. The Janmasaphalya/fruitfulness
of life is to achieve that Paramathma Parambhramam resides as soul, therefore undertake
austerities, meditation and contemplation, get rid of interest in worldly matters
and attachments to material matters such as money, wealth, richness, fame,
possession, people, etc. and get freed from the vicious cycles of rebirth.”
