Chapter
– 2 – Sri Guru Gita – 11 – 20
Lord
Mahadeva speaks “ I shall prostrate before the supreme Preceptor, who represents
the all-pervasive Bhramam which is Nithya/eternal, Shudhdha/pure, Nirabhasa/serene, Nirakara/invisible,
Nirajjana/unblemished, Nithyabodha/supreme consciousness, Chidhanandhaswaroopa Paramathma.
I shall earnestly pray for the perpetual grace and eternal presence of the
Preceptor in my mind. The preceptor is none other than the
all-pervasive Bhramam which is cause for the creation of living and non-living
things in the Universe resides as Athman/soul in the Jeeva, and it is the sole functioning
of body, mind, intellect, Prana,
Chiththa, ahamkara, Karma and Gnanendhriyas, it is the sole witness in the
Jeeva, and it is the single source to witness the infinite Nama, Roopa,
Dhrishya in the Universe, it is indestructible Purusha, and it is the essence of
Veda and Vedanta as well. The preceptor enlightens the knowledge of self/Athman
and the indestructible Purusha/Paramathma to the Jeeva and introduces the nature of Prakrithi/material matters such as wealth, richness, money,
fame, possession, attachment to wife, children, relatives, companion, etc. that has
impermanent nature, have to undergo constant transformation and ruin, creates trepidations
and sorrows in the Jeeva. The Preceptor guides the Jeeva through the path of
Moksha, and inspires to get freed from the impurities of Kama, Krodha, Loba, Moha,
Madha, Mathshcharya, in order to achieve the serenity of mind, thereby
abandon the interest in worldly matters and bondage. The preceptor is the
strong pillar who introduces the nature of Purusha and Prakrithi/the Universe and its living and
non-living things, he symbolizes Thaththvamala/garland of supreme philosophy, time,
compassion and kindness, he is none other than the Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma.
I shall repeatedly promise that there is no one superior to Preceptor who
enlightens the Jeeva with the knowledge of Paramarththa Thaththva, even Lord
Vishnu and Lord Bhrama affirm the same. Oh! Devi, Guru Dhyanam, and the
sincere worship at the lotus feet of Guru would provide wisdom, the Jeeva gets
freed from the sufferings and sorrows of worldly existence with the grace of
preceptor. The teachings of Guru would remove the interest in worldly matters
and bondage which has impermanent nature causes grief and miseries, it would remove the impurities of the mind, redundant thoughts and lessen the
attachment to Ananthmavasthu/material matters of fleeting nature. The Jjanam/wisdom
and Jjeyem is not a different concept, the mind and intellect functions in the
sole presence of Athman/soul perceives the infinite Nama, Roopa, Dhrishya in
the Universe is not different from that Bhramam. Oh! Devi, The Chiththavishranthi/serenity of mind is impossible to
achieve without the grace of the preceptor.
Therefore, the deep insight about the knowledge in various Shastras
without the perpetual grace of preceptor is unfruitful, cannot bring
Chiththavishranthi.”
