Chapter – 31– Sri Vinaya Patrika – Sharanagathi
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Deva, Oh! Sri Rama, you are the destroyer of wicked
demons, you are the ocean of mercy, you are the destroyer of pride, Dhambha, arrogance,
deceitfulness, impurities of the mind, such as Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha,
Mathshcharya, body and I consciousness, interest in worldly matters and
bondage. You have perfect control over sense, you are the destroyer of
accumulated grief and agonies of the Jeeva. Oh! Bhagavan, you have numerous
incarnations, you have the radiance of Surya, you are the storehouse of
virtues, and six kinds of auspiciousness, you are the source of Moksha and
protection/Abhaya to the worshiper, you are supreme Lord Jagadheehswara, Oh!
Bhagavan you are beyond mind and intellect, you are beloved of Lord Shiva, you
are most promising to the devotees of Lord Shiva, you are the protector of
mother Earth, you have elevated the Mount Govardhan and protected the people of
Gokul. Oh! Varada, you have beautiful limbs resemble freshly formed rain
clouds, you are the Lord of eloquence/Vani, you are the essence of the Universe and
its living and non-living things, you are dispassionate, free from impurities
of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathscharya, you reside in the supreme
abode Sri Vaikunda. You are omnipresent represent the sky, you are worshiped
by all, you have incarnated as Vamana and measured the entire Universe in three
strides, Oh! Bhagavan, you are Bhramavethth, and Bhramaswaroop removes the
redundant thoughts in the Jeeva and enlightens the souls with the knowledge of
Paramarththa, Sath/indestructible Purusha, and Asath/destructible Prakrithi and
material matters. Oh! Bhagavan, you have a lovely appearance, you have pleasing
nature and good-hearted, you are pure, Sarvajja, Shubhaswaroopa Paramathma
Parambhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva. Oh! Bhagavan, you are independent,
you are the protector and preserver of the Jeeva, you are unconquerable, most
promising to all, you are Sathyasankalpa and you are the cause of Mahapralaya
at the end of the era. Oh! Bhagavan, you are eternal, Moharahitha/dispassionate,
pure, free from attributes, unblemished, Nijanandharoopa Paramathma
Parambhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva, and you are the provider of Mukthi
as well. Oh! Bhagavan you are supreme bliss, you are beyond perception,
Mokshaswaroopa, Mamatharahitha Lord of the Universe. Oh! Bhagavan, you are
Mangalaswaroopa, Sacchidhanandha Paramathma, you have endless glories, you have
killed the demon Madhu, you are free from Madha, and Maya, you are the dearest
consort of Goddess Mahalakshmi who is the epitome of beauty, you have wielded
in bow and arrow, holds a lotus flower in one hand. Oh! Bhagavan, you have
beautiful eyes that resemble a red lotus flower, you are the storehouse of sixty-eight
art forms, Oh! Bhagavan you are the Lord of Koshala and the Lord of
auspiciousness, you resemble the lion to the untamed elephant-like haughty
demons, you reside on the mesmerizing Vanaroopi heart of the devotees, Oh!
Bhagavan, you are sinless, Adhvatheeya, unblemished, invisible, have no birth
or death, beyond words or mind, Nirvikara, free from impurities, and ocean of
mercy. Oh! Bhagavan, you are all-pervasive Bhramam, you are flawless, you are
primordial, free from Ragadvesha and afflictions of worldly existence. Oh!
Bhagavan, you are the elder brother to valorous Lakshman who killed Meghanatha on
the battlefield. Oh! Bhagavan, I am Tulsidas completely exhausted and worn out
of the grief of worldly existence, in deep trouble and depressed, and extremely gloomy,
Oh! Sharanagathapalaka protects whoever taken shelter at your lotus feet, Oh!
Karunanidhi, who is the ocean of mercy, Oh! Prithvipathi Oh! Sri Rama, kindly
protects me.”
