Chapter - 104 -Sri Vinaya Pathrika – Ramanama Mahima
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Raghunath,
you are too kind, and pleasant always. You always keep a simple relationship of unconditional love and compassion to your devotees, you do not require an
abundance of Bhog/Prasadha, or long hours of elaborate worship or expensive
ingredients or exquisite ornaments to decorate to make you pleased, all that you require pure love of your devotees. Maharaja Dhasharath left mortal coil at the pain of
separation from you, thus he proved the love for his dearest son.
Gheedh/Jatayu, who was severely wounded in a fight with Ravana, took last
breath on your lap and you have considered Gheedh as equivalent to your
father, and performed the last rite of Jatayu.
Oh! Prabho, while you were searching the whereabouts of Devi Sita, met
Sughreevah who was grieving over the separation from his wife, immediately you
have forgotten your grief and killed Bali who is the elder brother to Sugreevah,
and restored his glories and wife of Sugreevah. Oh! Prabho, while Lakshmana was
attacked by the vicious weapon Shakthi, lost his consciousness in the
battlefield, you have devastated thinking about the hardships of Vibheehana in
the battlefield, in a moment you have overwhelmed with various thoughts, what I
do without Lakshman? Why should I fight against Ravan, if Lakshman is not
alive? What would happen to Vanaras, bears, and Vibheeshana? Oh! Prabho, you
have been always served with great love and compassion in your home, in the
hermitage of Sage Vashishta, in the house of your dearest companions, and in
the house of your in-laws too, but you have never felt that similar love and the
affection/sweetness in their hospitality, which was offered by Sabari in the woods. Sabari who was born in the lowly clan is extremely fortunate, lived several
years in the forest patiently waiting for your arrival and offered the berries
tasted by her. Oh! Prabho, you get easily meek listening to the praise by the
illustrious Rishis and Sages, and their elaborate description of your endless
glories of Nirgunaparamathma Paramabhrama Swaroopa and you felt extremely
happy and comfortable when the Vanaras and ferryman Guha considered you as
their Mithra/companion and brother, and converses with you. Oh! Raghunath,
there is no deity is as compassionate and kind as you in the three worlds, and it
is impossible to find a deity who gets easily pleased with the love and the devotion of devotees. Oh! Prabho, you have elevated Hanuman to a state of
ecstasy by saying ‘I am your Rini/debtor’ when Hanuman brought the whereabouts
of Devi Sita in Lanka, there is no other deity appreciative as you. Oh! Tulsi,
after listening to the boundless compassion and love of Lord Ramachandra to
his devotees, if you have not practiced the worship or the recitation of his
sacred names, then your life on Earth is worthless, and your mother has
spoiled her youth by giving birth to you.”
