– 158 -Sri Vinaya Patrika –
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho,
today I am too early at your doorsteps, shedding tears of helplessness,
seeking your compassionate grace to achieve Ananya Bhakti, I do not need
anything other than the true devotion and faith at your lotus feet, that would
relive me from the grief of Samsara, the impurities of mind such as the Kama,
Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakra, interest in
worldly matters, possession, wealth, richness, money, fame, attachment to wife,
children, relatives, and companions that have fleeting nature. Oh! Prabho, if you
ask me why I was not taken up the Sadhana, Shama, Dhama, Sathyam, Shaucham,
Astheyam, Bhramacharyam, Ahimsa, Arjjavam, Dhrithi, Kshama, etc. and begging
before you, then I have an immediate answer for that too. Oh! Prabho, the Ghora
Kaliyuga/the evilness of Kaliyuga destroyed the Sadhanaroopi wealth of the
Jeeva, it has become very rare to see anyone engaged in the performance of
Sadhana and if so, that won’t provide the fruitfulness of it. The Sadhana taken
up won’t get finished without the obstacles, hence none of the Sadhanas are
worth practicing, that’s why I haven’t practiced anything, and begging before
you with folded hands. Oh! Prabho, in the Kali era, Jeeva is drenched in chasing after material
welfare and bodily pleasure, the customary rites and religious rites are
followed carelessly, people have become wicked and deceitful, all the religious
and spiritual rites are performed for personal gain with a selfish motive, people
are soaked in the sinful deeds day and night, everyone wants to achieve welfare
and happiness, without any Sadhana or devotion, some people yearn for
Moksharoopa Sukham which is impossible without Bhagavath Kripa. Oh! Prabho I
did not practice any Sadhana, all those practices were pleasure giving in the
beginning, later turn out to be grief, like the sensation of itching on the
wound, the itching gives immense pleasure on the wound, later it started
getting swollen, bleeding, puss oozes out from it and makes miserable. The
Karma and Gnanaendhriyas easily gets wedged on the material matter and
experiences bliss in the initial period, later it turns out to be miserable,
hence I haven’t initiated any practices of Sadhana. Oh! Prabho, I have
approached the noble-souls, and Mahathmas to get rid of the trepidations of
Samsara, enquired them who will give shelter to this Sadhanaheen Tulsi? They firmly
advised that the one and only Kripalu Kosaladheesha Sri Ramachandra protects
the devotees who take shelter at his lotus feet. Oh! Kripavaridhi, Oh! Prabho,
who will destroy the sufferings of poverty and grief of Samsara, other than
you? Oh! Dhasharathanandhan, you are the protector of the Universe and its living
and non-living things. Oh! Pranatharththiharin, I am begging alms to wave off
my hunger like the grief of Samsara, all I want to get a stomach full of Bhakthiroopi
Bhojan/Ananyabhakthi resembles nectar of immortality, that would remove the sufferings
of Samsara, so that I won’t push myself into different Yonis and repeat begging
for alms, and I grow out of the desires in
the Samsara, get relieved from Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcarya,
Ahamkara, Mamakara etc…. forever.”
