Sri Vishnu Pratha: Smarana Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Vishnu who is reclining on serpent bed, he is the cause for Universe and its living and non-living beings, such as Nagas, deities, demons humans etc.. he is eulogized by sacred Veda, he is most desirable to the virtuous and ascetics who have embraced Vanaprasthashrama and Sanyasashrama as well.

I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Vishnu who guides us to cross the ocean of Samsara effortlessly, he is worshiped by deities, Siddhas, Rishis and Sages, he is the annihilator of the pride of demons, and he is the dwelling place of his consort Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who is the symbol of wealth and beauty.

I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Vishnu who has the complexion of dark clouds, he destroys the sorrows and grief of people who are surrendered to his lotus feet, he has various incarnations, he has assumed various divine forms as Kala in order to reduce the burden of Earth, he carries lotus flower, conch and wheel and he is serene.

Whoever reads or listen to the glorious verses composed by Bhramanandha in the early hours of dawn, would be relieved from all the sins.

Sri Vishnu Pratha: Smarana Sthothram – II

I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Vishnu who has supreme brilliance, he is eternal bliss, he is the ultimate seek of the virtuous and ascetics, he is beyond perception, he is unblemished and absolute Bhramam remains stable during the three states of dream, awaken and unconscious.    I shall meditate upon the supreme Lord Vishnu who is the provider of wisdom and intelligence, even the Veda becomes incompetent to describe his splendor, he is beyond perception of mind and words, he has no birth, he is eternal, he is the Lord of the Universe, he is Achyutha who is Lord of Lords.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Vishnu who is the cause of Universe and its living and non-living beings, he is the cause of illusion which produces false impression of rope as serpent, he is unapproachable for Thamassic qualities, he has the brilliance of Aditya,  he is flawless, he is Purushoththama.

Whoever reads or listens to the above sacred verses in the early hours of dawn, would attain the abode of Lord Vishnu/Sri Vaikundham.
