Sri Sanathsujatheeyam – Sri Mahabharath
- Sri Shankarabhashyam – Bhashyam – 24 & 25 The difference between wise and unwise Jeeva
Chapter 17 - Bhashyam – 24 & 25
Abidhyayan/ the intellectual and learned
who has a thorough knowledge of Vishayavasthu which has fleeting nature/destructible, that causes impurities of mind/Kama, Krodha,
Lobha, Madha and Mathshcharya, and it is the last reason for the miseries and
sorrows of worldly existence abandon the Upthpathishnu Vishaya/desires and
matters which keeps disturbing the serenity of mind, and creates intense
yearning. The ignorant Jeeva who is drenched
in the Vishayavisha/toxic poison like worldly matters and bondage, have no
discipline, or disrespectful, does not keep Audhasinya/indifference, even after
witnessing the secretion like the Vishaya and keeps intense yearning for Vishaya/worldly matters
and Vasthu/possession, people, money, richness, fame, etc. consumes the ‘Mrithyu’. The intellectuals, Athmavithth who constantly
takes pleasure in the ‘Athmarathi’/contemplation and meditation upon the
supreme Bhramam resides as soul and the learned has the profound knowledge of
destructible nature of Prakrithi/Vishaya, and indestructible Purusha/Athman,
destroys the interest in worldly matters and bondage, in this way he takes away
the life of ‘Mrithyu’. The
Vidhvan/learned has the knowledge of the fleeting nature of Vishaya, destroys
interest in the Kama, Vishaya, and Bhogavasthu.
I shall describe the nature of an Avidhvan/Kamanusari get wedged with the
Bhogavishaya and get destroyed with it. The person/Thyakthakama abandons all
the interest in the worldly matters and bondage, with the knowledge of
impermanent nature of it, and gets well equipped to obliterate any Vasthu or
Bhoga, or people of Rajasik nature.
The ignorant Jeeva is
Vishayanudhyana/chases after material well-being and sensual pleasures, is
Kamanusari/seeks pleasure in all the activities, in the long run; he/she would
get destroyed in this process, eventually the Kamavishaya/interest in worldly
matters and bondage goes out of hand. Sri Adhishankaracharya says these
Anithya/destructible natures of Bhoga and Kamavishaya constantly faces ruin, in
the same manner, the Kami/the person who chases after wealth, money, richness,
fame, and people also undergoes constant transformation and ruin. The
Mahathma/Athmavithth/learned, discard all those interest in worldly matters and
bondage with the constant practice of meditation and contemplation, eventually
they get withdrawn from the Sanchithapapa and Punya/Rajas, ultimately get freed
from the Punyapapa Karma as well. In this way, the Mahathma/Athmavithth
abandons the Punya and Papa, and achieves union with the indestructible supreme
Bhramam resides as soul in the Jeeva, which
is ultimate bliss, free from impurities like Kama, Krodha, Madha, Lobha, Moha,
Mathshcharya, and it is eternal, changeless, and pure.
