Nyayashasthra – Chapter -15 - Chanakya Neethi – 1 - 10

Chapter – 15– Chanakya Neethi – 1 – 10

Rishi Chanakya speaks “The people who have extreme compassion and kindness to the fellow beings, are they require to smear Bhasma/sacred ashes, Gnana/wisdom, Moksham/free from miseries and happiness, Jata/matted hair locks? Dhaya/kindness is the pre-requisite to achieve the highest of piousness and knowledge, the ‘Oneness-in – All’  is the Paramarththa Thaththva, the supreme Bramham is all-pervasive, resides as a soul in the Jeeva, it represents living and non-living things as well. It is impossible to repay the debt to a Preceptor; there is no material thing available on the Earth to pay off the debt of the preceptor. The wicked people and thorn can get rid of in two ways 1) destroy them completely so that they won’t hurt anyone 2) or ignore them completely.  The Goddess of Wealth, Goddess Mahalakshmi abandons these people permanently 1) the person who have the habit of wearing dirty, and tattered clothe 2) the people who do not clean teeth properly 3) people who consume a large quantity of meals 4) people who take pleasure in derisive comments 5) the person who sleeps at the time of sunrise and sunset. The real companion of the human is wealth, the person who has lost wealth abandons by 1) companion 2) family 3) children 4) relative 5) servants 6) and society as well. Once, the wealth was restored, all those left in difficult times would flock to his/her life. The permanent truth is that the wealth earned in immoral ways would last more or less for ten years, after that it will start to disappear. The powerful, intelligent, skillful people utilize all that available for the welfare of all. The wicked, ignorant, dull-witted utilizes even the precious things for the destruction of self and others too, like the Rahu after achieving the nectar of immortality in a deceitful manner, caused to meet his destruction, on the other hand, the toxic poison consumed by Lord Shankara for the welfare of the Universe, restored on the throat became an ornament. The praise-worthy things are 1) The knowledge in scriptures, Veda and Vedantha achieved by the twice-born 2) kindness, politeness, benevolence 3) absence of immoral deeds and 4) SathKarma performed without arrogance. All the glitters are not gold like all the stones are not precious gem whether it was worn on the head or toe, both have different material values, the precious ones cannot stand with the worthless stone. It is impossible to achieve knowledge in all the Shastras and Puranas that are vast like the ocean, human life too short, and there endless obstacles to achieve knowledge in it, and therefore it is wise to make an effort to learn the essence  from all the Shastras, like the Swan/Hamsa separates the milk from the water.”
