Sri Vinaya Pathrika – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Sri Ramanama Prabhavam – Bhakthirasaroopa Namaprem

Chapter 167 – Sri Vinaya Pathrika - Sri Ramanama Prabhavam– Bhakthirasaroopa Namaprem

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, whoever takes immense pleasure in the recitation of Ramanama would achieve all the auspiciousness throughout the Karala Kali era. All I want to achieve Bhakthirasaroopa Rama Namaprem in this life, so that I could achieve the perpetual grace of Lord Sri Ramachandra, and get rid of impurities of Ahamkara, Mamakara, Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya, interest in worldly matters and attachment to people, etc.  Oh! Jeeva, the constant recitation of Ramanama destroys the impurities and makes them flee from the heart forever, hence whoever take immense joy in reciting the Ramanama won’t feel the heat/evilness of Karala Kali, even the scorching heat of grief and sufferings of Samsara would become a cool breeze for them.  The Mahatmas and noble-souls always immerse in the Namajapa, therefore the worst of the worst situations become promising and favorable to them, in this way the recitation of Ramanama provides cool shade from the grief and sufferings of Samsara. Oh! Jeeva, the recitation of Ramanama would bring wonders in life, even the impossible would become possible for them. Oh! Jeeva, listen to me carefully, I shall explain about those noble-souls who have achieved piousness with the recitation of Ramanama.  Shabari who was born in the lowly clan did not perform any austerities, she sincerely recited the Ramanama becomes Punyavathi and Sheelamathi, eventually achieved Paramagathi. Valmiki and Ajamila did not practice austerities or Tapasya, both of them were immersed in immoral deeds, Ahimsa and Papa. Valmiki met the Saptharishis with the grace of the Lord and achieved the Mahamanthra Upadhesha, did not even know to spell the sacred syllables ‘Ra Ma’ properly was pronounced in reverse order ‘Ma Ra’ and achieved Paramagathi and highest honor as Adhikavi. The twice-born Ajamila discarded the duties and responsibilities took shelter in a prostitute, had no material to perform any Sadhanas, immersed in the Papakarma, in the latter years of age shrieked out of fear of death, called out for his dearest son ‘Narayana’, achieved Paramathma. Oh! Jeeva, Ramanama is more powerful than Lord Sri Ramachandra, because the Bhagavath Prapthi can be achieved only with the recitation of his sacred name ‘Rama’. Lord Raghunath gets highly pleased with the sincere devotion and recitation of Ramanama, whoever taken shelter in the Ramanama would get transformed to Mahathma.  Oh! Jeeva,  I promise this Tulsi have taken shelter in the Ramanama and achieved the serenity of mind, got rid of impurities of mind, Ahamkara and Mamakara.”
