Chapter – 85- Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The absolute
truth/Paramarththa Thaththva
Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mortals, the
eternal truth is that, other than Lord Shyamsundhar, none of your relations or
companions can help you while on the death bed, all these so-called
relationships you have formed in this life as a mother, father, daughter, son,
children, relatives, companion, wife, etc. would love and take pleasure in your
association as long as they are happy with you. All those relationships are
formed out of selfishness, either they fall in love with your appearance, or
wealth, or fame, or richness, or money, etc. even your skin looks ugly without
the vital air in your body, it would get hardened, the whole limb would perish
without the Prana/vital air/soul in the body. Oh! Mortals, the Universe, and its
infinite Shabdha, Sparsha, Rasa, Roopa, and Gandha may feel overwhelming as long as
you are afar from the devotion and meditation upon Lord Shyamsundhar. Oh!
Ignorant, you have drenched in illusion, worldly matters of possession,
wealth, richness, fame, money, children, wife, companion and relatives, etc. you
have assumed the body and worldly matters as your permanent abode, without the
knowledge of absolute truth/Paramarththa Thaththva/ all the material
matters/Prakrithi is destructible, and the soul is indestructible Purusha.
Alas! neither the material matters have long life nor your body, both are
fleeting natured, hence leave your interest in the worldly matter, and take shelter
in Vrindavan, the abode of Lord Sri Krishna.”
