Chapter – 280- Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The Prana/soul
keeps the body alive and it is the source of the functioning of the mind,
intellect, Chiththa, Ahamkara, sensory organs etc.
Sri Surdas
Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mortals, the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam resides as a
soul that is primeval, eternal, pure,
unblemished, free from dualities and has no death or birth. The supreme
Bhramam is personified as Lord Shyamsundar. Oh! Mortals, envisage the omnipresent Lord of the
Universe and its living and non-living things/Viratswaroopa. The entire Bhramanda,
mountains, oceans, sun, moon, stars, planets, fourteen worlds/Athala, Vithala,
Suthala, Thalathal, Mahathal, Rasathal, Pathal, etc., as his body parts. The Supreme
Lord is the cause of the Universe and its living and non-living things, he is
the creator, preserver, and destroyer as well. The supreme Bhramam resides as a
soul in the Jeeva and is the source of the functioning of the mind, intellect, Chiththa,
Ahamkara, Prana, Karma, and Gnanendhriyas, and once the Prana/soul/vital air
leaves the body, it is addressed as a corpse.”
