|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||
Maharishi Narada said “Lord Indhra and the
deities were in an extreme trepidation after witnessing the dreadful demons,
they began to eulogize the glories of Lord Vishnu.”
Deities prayed “we shall
prostrate before supreme Lord Vishnu who has various incarnations such as
Mathsya for the welfare of his devotees, he is the destroyer of sorrows and
grief, he is the cause for the Universe and its living beings, he performs
preservation and destruction of the same, he is the cause for the origin of
Lord Bhrama, he carries conch, wheel, mace and lotus flower in his hands. We shall prostrate before supreme Lord
Vishnu, Oh! Ramavallabha/Lakshmivallabha who is the destroyer of demons, he has
Garuda as celestial vehicle, he is attired in majestic yellow garment, he is
the provider of abundance of merits for the performance of Yaga/fire
sacrifices, he remains free from actions, he is the safe haven for his
devotees. We shall prostrate before
supreme Lord Vishnu, he is the annihilator of demons who constantly creates
troubles to the deities, he works like fierce weapon Vajrayudha in order to destroy the heap of distress caused by the demons.
He reclines on the bed of serpent Anantha, his eyes represent Lord Surya and
Lord Chandhra respectively, he is Lord Vishnu.”
Whoever reads or listens to the
glorious verses of Sankashtanashanam would be freed from all kinds of grief and
sorrows with the blessing of Lord Vishnu.
