Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mortals, remember the sacred names of Lord Sri Hari and get rid of the impurities of mind such as Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara/desire, lust, pride, jealousy, anger, arrogance, and ignorance, and thereby get rid of sufferings, and grief of worldly existence, I shall promise it would provide all the happiness and welfare. The Veda and Agamashsthras highly emphasize the recitation of ‘Sri Harinama/Harinamasmaran’, it is the only source to get rid of three kinds of grief of worldly existence/Thapathraya. The Supreme Lord Sri Hari is the protector of the souls, He is Jagannatha/Lord of Universe, hence remembering the sacred names of Lord Sri Hari would provide an abundance of piousness. Oh! Mortals, contemplate and meditate upon the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari and get rid of interest in worldly matters such as possession, wealth, money, richness, fame, children, wife, companion, relatives, etc. that have momentary nature, I shall repeat without the Harinama Smaran it is impossible to achieve the serenity of mind. Oh! Mortals, without the Sri Hari Smaran you cannot achieve peace of mind, even if you try thousands of ways to get rid of the grief of worldly existence. Oh! Mortals, keep reciting the glorious names of Lord Sri Hari, the Supreme Lord Sri Hari is impartial to his devotees, there is no rich or poor, good or evil, friend or foe in the abode of the Lord, hence whoever sincerely meditates upon that Lord and surrenders at his lotus feet would remain protected always. The deities, illustrious Rishis, Sages, and fortunate souls constantly contemplate and meditate upon that all-pervasive supreme Bhramam, the bliss personified Lord Sri Hari, and achieves liberation from worldly existence. Whoever sings in praise of the Lord with pure love and devotion would achieve liberation from the sufferings of worldly existence and repeated births. Oh! Mortals, whoever worshipped, contemplated, and meditated upon Lord Sri Hari had perceived the Supreme Bhramam, hence do not hesitate, without Harinama Smaran there is no happiness in this world or life after death. Oh! Mortals, I shall strongly recommend Harinama Smanaran is the only source of happiness and welfare in this Universe, therefore keep chanting ‘Hari Hari Hari’ in the day and night.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mortals, in this Kali era there is no Thapa, Japa, Yoga, that could provide desired results or help to get rid of the sufferings and grief of worldly existence, other than the recitation of ‘Sri Ramanama’.  Oh! Mortals, the purity of mind, and the ingredients used for the Yajja and Thapa have disappeared, hence the fire sacrifices and various rites performed to please the deity cannot bring desired results, therefore take shelter in the recitation of ‘Sri Harinama’ that would provide the serenity of mind. Maharishi Narada, Shukadeva, and illustrious Sanakadhis much discussed finding a solution to protect the souls from the evilness of the Kali era, they referred to all the sacred texts, finally, after churning the Veda and Vedantha, they arrived at a conclusion that the ‘Sri Harinama’ is the essence of the Veda, hence the recitation of the Sri Harinama is the only source to remove the impurities of Kaliera, and there is no Yajja, Thapa, Yoga could bring desired results, even if it was performed meticulously. Oh! Mortals, the Kali era has trapped the Jeeva from the ten directions and stopped performing all the spiritual and religious rites like the fish inside the net. Therefore, sing in praise of Lord Sri Hari, remember the glorious names of the Lord and endless legends, it would remove the Bhavabhara/sufferings and grief of worldly existence and Thapathrya/three kinds of sufferings as well.”

Mortals, if you have achieved the ‘Sri Ramanamaroopi wealth’/ practice of recitation of Sri Ramanama with sincere meditation and contemplation, following the austerities, Shama, Dhama, self-control, celibacy, truthfulness, non-violence, kindness, etc. your present birth, and future births would become fruitful, I promise it would remove the anxiousness, grief, and sufferings of worldly existence, fear of aging, illnesses, and death as well. Whoever offers cooked rice with ghee to Lord Shyamsundhar, and serve the meal to Santh, Mahathma, noble souls would achieve their constant association, eventually, they would achieve the undiminishing Sri Ramanamaroopi wealth from their association. The Sri Ramanamaroopi/the practice of chanting Sri Ramanama, wealth achieved would never get lost. Oh! Mortal, do not conduct recitation of Sri Ramanama, singing in praise of glories and legends of Lord, worship of Lord, the performance of charities, service to preceptors, Santh, Mahathma, and noble souls with a selfish motive, all the material matters have fleeting nature. Oh! Mortal, if you have achieved the magnificent Sri Ramanamaroopi wealth with constant meditation and contemplation, no one would stop you in the Sri Vaikundaroopi Bazar/in the supreme abode of Lord Sri Hari.”

Mortals, the supreme bliss arrives by singing in praise of Lord Gopala cannot be attained from Thapa/penance, Japa/sacred chants, and taking a dip in crores of sacred rivers. The sincere practice of meditation and contemplation at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari will gradually transform the devotee to refuse even the four Purusharththa such as Dharma/righteousness, Arththa/wealth, Kama/desire, and Moksha/liberation from repeated births. The constant meditation and contemplation would bring tremendous transformation in the Sadhaka/spiritual seeker, the moment he/she perceives Sri Nandhanandhan in his/her heart the rest of the worldly matters and luxuries of the three worlds would seem worthless. The interest in worldly matters of possession, wealth, richness, money, fame, children, wife, companion and relatives, etc. would disappear forever. The Sadhaka would get rid of impurities of the mind such as lust, desire, anger, jealousy, pride, Ahamkara, and Mamakara , eventually achieve the serenity of mind to a marvelous extent, he/she would be willing to sacrifice all the comforts and worldly matters like Thrina/grass, further he/she won’t even accept the supreme abode of Sri Baikundam, leaving Vrindavan and Vamshivat and the sacred Yamuna. Oh! Mortals, whoever sings in praise of Lord Sri Hari, and sincerely meditate and contemplate upon the lotus feet of the Lord won’t take birth or plunge into the Samsarasagara/ocean of worldly existence.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mortals, there is nothing that could bring the serenity of mind, other than the practice of devotion, recitation of Sri Ramanama, and singing in praise of his glories. The practice of worship at the lotus feet of Sri Hari makes even the Chandala who was born in the low clan, meat eaters highly respectable in the society, and the twice-born who is afar from the worship of the Lord and singing in praise of the Lord Gopala will not bring welfare to his clan, mere birth as a Bhramin does not bring fruitfulness in the life, therefore,  the worship of Lord Sri Hari, and practice of Shama, Dhama, Sathyam, Dhaya, Dhanam, Ahimsa, Arjjavam, Bhramacharyam, Astheyam, Swadhyaya, etc. brings the serenity of mind. Oh! Mortals, in this Kali era the practice of Thapa, Yajja, Vratha cannot bring the Purusharththa, hence singing in praise of Lord Gopala, remembrance of his glorious myths would bring all those four Purusharththa, such as Dharma/righteousness, Arththa/wealth, Kama/desire, and Moksha/liberation, without effort. Oh! Mind, you may wander all over the Universe, chasing after the infinite sound/Shabdha, touch/Sparsha, appearance/Roopa, passion/Rasa, smell/Gandha, etc. like a honey bee, but it is impossible to achieve the serenity of mind without the practice of devotion at the lotus feet of Sri Hari. Bhramari/intellect that resembles a female honeybee, take shelter at the fully blossomed lotus flower like the feet of Supreme Lord Sri Hari, sing in praise of his glorious myths, contemplate and meditate upon him, there is no fear of separation, grief, and sufferings, there won’t be any darkness of ignorance, arrogance, and illusion. The lotus eyes of Lord Sri Hari resemble Surya/sun and Chandhra/moon, he is free from impurities of the mind, unblemished, pure, free from the sufferings and grief, and the dualities of happiness and grief, loss and gain, honor and disgrace, etc. hence he is supreme bliss personified. Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Budhdhiroopi Sakhi/intellect that resembles a companion, takes shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari, which represents a fully blossomed lotus flower in the beautiful lake, where there is no fear of moonlight, the petals remain fresh and open always. It is the marvelous lake where the Bhramajjanis, illustrious Rishis and Sages represents Swethahamsa/white swans, who have got rid of impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara after several years of austerities and penances, these royal swans take a dip in the Hariroopi Sarobar/lake of devotion, with utmost faith and achieve precious pearls that resemble Mukthiroopi /liberation from worldly existence and repeated births. These illustrious Sages and Rishis undertake extreme penance and Shamadhamadhi contemplating and meditating upon the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari sitting on the riverside, singing in praise of Lord Sri Hari, and remembering glorious myths. Mind, be cautious! the interest in worldly matters, possession, richness, fame, money, wife, children, companion, relatives, etc. have fleeting nature, it would easily get dried like the ponds in the absence of rain, chasing after the worldly matters of infinite sound, taste, passion, appearance, touch, etc. are Mrigathrishna/running after the illusion caused water in the desert, it cannot provide permanent bliss.”

Mind, you are like the female Chakravaha bird, very dedicated, earnestly looking at the full moon and raining clouds, quenching its thirst only from the water droplets of the Swathi star, Oh! Mind, take shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari resemble the beautiful river, you won’t feel neglected or feel the separation from your companion. Oh! Mind, There won’t be an illusion resembling the darkest hours of the night at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari, you would be free from the Thapathraya/three kinds of grief, sufferings of worldly existence, all that you would experience supreme bliss. Oh! Mind, the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari are the safest asylum, resemble the beautiful lake/Sarovar, where the Sanakadhi Rishis, illustrious Sages, and Rajahamsa/Lord Shankar/the royal swan, resemble the aquatic animals contemplate and meditate in the supreme brilliance from the toenails of  Lord Sri Hari, it is the marvelous asylum where the darkness like the impurities of mind/ignorance, arrogance, lust, desire, anger, ego, jealousy, and pride/ has no place in it, and the place always reverberates the sounds of Shruthi, sacred texts, and filled with the rich fragrance. It is the beautiful Sarovar/lake, where the hidden gems and pearls like Mukthi/liberation from worldly existence in abundance, Oh! Mind, do not waste the precious birth as a human, take shelter in the beautiful lake like the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari, and consume the Punyaroopi/piousness like the nectar at heart’s content. Oh! Mind, the nearness to the supreme Lord is the single source for piousness/righteousness/nobleness, and the nobleness is the ultimate source of welfare and happiness. Oh! Wicked soul, what made you drench in worldly matters of possession, richness, fame, wealth, money, children, wife, companion, and relatives of fleeting nature? The infinite matters of sounds, touch, passion, appearance, smell, etc. cannot bring eternal bliss, the diversified matters of the Universe are illusion/unreal, and it is perishable. Hence, abandon your interest in worldly matters, and stop chasing after material and physical pleasure, take shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari who is bliss personified, whoever takes shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari would not experience the three kinds of grief of worldly existence 1) grief of aging, illnesses, fear of death, separation from beloved ones/Adhyathmik 2) grief of the loss of possession, wealth, money, richness, fame, children, wife, companion and relatives /Adhibhauthik 3) grief from natural calamities, epidemic, drought, famine, flood, wood fire, earthquake etc../Adhidheivik.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “ Oh! Ignorant, you have lost the opportunity to achieve nearness to God/Bhagavathprapthi, even after obtaining the rarest birth as a human. You have driven afar from the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari, you have forgotten the worship, practice of devotion, austerities, Shamadhamadhi, non-violence, celibacy, truthfulness, and purity of mind, due to your unwarranted attachment to material and physical pleasures. Oh! Blind, Oh! Ignorant, Oh! Dull-minded, Oh! Insane, you have forgotten the Jagathpathi/Lord of the Universe, who provided you an opportunity to obtain human birth by investing the Beeja/sperm of your father into mother’s womb, he protected you while you were struggling in the dark tiny space in the mother’s womb, he nurtured you while you were lying upside down in mother’s womb covered in the excreta of yourself infested with worms, thus he has protected you for ten months while fighting in the mother’s womb, and he continued to protect you even after falling upside down from the mother’s womb, alas! you have proven selfish and forgot to sing in praise of that Lord. Oh! Ignorant, you have decorated your body with the finest clothes and ornaments to show off the world, you have drenched in lust, desire, jealousy, pride, ego, anger, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, and wasted the precious life engaged in various sinful deed by word, mind, and deed. Oh! Dull-mind, you have forgotten the absolute truth ‘All the material matters are destructible’, you haven’t thought of the later years of your age, or time to leave the world, you have planned several things to do in your life, you have drenched in the toxic poison like lust for women, and love for children and grandchildren, hence you have discarded the nectar-like pure love and devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari. Oh! Ignorant, you have amassed wealth in immoral ways, you have taken so much effort to decorate yourself and your homes, protect your possessions, wealth, money, richness, fame, etc. Oh! Moorkh, you did not even think of the ‘Time’ which has a great influence on the living and non-living things, the noose of Death,/Lord Yama is always hanging above your head, one day you have to leave this world willingly or unwillingly. The moment vital air/Prana/soul leaves the body, you will be addressed as ‘Dead body/Prethashareera’, the people surrounded and the people who loved you the most would recommend clearing the dead body immediately, and the son whom you loved the most, and for whom you have left the practice the devotion of Lord Sri Hari would set fire on the funeral pyre. Oh! Ignorant, at that moment your brothers and relatives would say ‘It is the Karma/actions that play important role in everyone’s life, and the Karma/performance of deeds by word, mind, and action while living on the Earth would determine the life after the death.” Oh! Mortals, Oh! Ignorant, do not waste your precious life, sincerely follow your preceptor, and undertake austerities, and sing in praise of Lord Sri Hari.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mind, you are ignorant, you have wasted the precious birth as a human, your interest in worldly matters of possession, fame, richness, money, wealth, wife, children, relatives, and companion, and the impurities of mind such as lust, desire, ego, jealousy, anger, pride, Ahamkara and Mamakara drove you afar from the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari. You haven’t taken shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Shyamsundhar, instead, you have followed the life of a parrot that lodged in attractive fruits of Semar tree, later got troubled with the sticky substance on its beak, in this way you have drenched in the worldly matters of infinite sound, touch, appearance, passion, smell, and taste. You have taken great pleasure in the material and physical matters, and eventually lost interest in all, like the parrot got attracted to the beautiful fruits of Semar, later troubled with the sticky substance. Oh! Mind, you have committed several sins by words, mind, and deed, while chasing material and physical pleasures, thus you have lost peace, tranquility, welfare, and happiness. Oh! Mortals, be cautious! Abandon your interest in worldly matters, that would hurl you into extreme suffering and pain, and there is no use crying after committing mountain-sized sins, therefore, sing in praise of Lord Sri Hari, take shelter at the lotus feet of Sacchidhanandharoopa Paramathma Parambhramam, whoever driven afar from the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari had constantly troubled with the  sufferings and grief of worldly existence/Thapathraya.”
