Lord Shiva spoke “ The thousands of sacred names of Goddess Sri Durga  are most rewarding and superior in Thanthric scriptures, whoever reads or listens to those highly promising hymns would be relieved from all kinds of miseries and sorrows, it  will provide abundance of meritorious reward equivalent to  thousands of Ashwamedha Yaga, thousands and millions of Vajapeya Yagna, Goddess Mahamaya would get highly pleased with the recitation of the same, whoever reads or listen to these sacred names of Goddess sri Durga who is impossible to attain in Dhivi, Bhuvi and Rasathala,  and worship her sacred idol would be blessed with long life, happiness and excellence in speech with the grace of Parvathathmaja/daughter of Mount Himavan,  Goddess Durga will be highly pleased to people who reads or listen to those sacred names on regular basis with utmost faith and devotion, they would remain ardent devotees of Goddess Durga, they win over enemies and remains powerful,  impoverished who recites these sacred hymns for six months with utmost faith and worship Goddess Durga would be blessed with abundance of richness, childless couple would be blessed with virtuous offsprings and remain protected from the danger of still born,  recitation of these sacred hymns for  thousands of times would provide good good health and recitation for one year would provide  virtuous progeny, whoever recites or listen to this sacred hymns after lightening earthen lamp before Goddess Durga would remain sinless, recitation  of Ashtothara Sthothra with the prescribed rituals by Purashcharya for hundreds of times would provide Chathurguna/fourfolds of auspiciousness, Goddess Durga should be venerated  with Japakusuma, Kamala, Chambakam, Nageshvaram, Kadhambam and Kusumam, followed by prescribed rituals,  reverential gestures and offerings, it will provide Iccha, Gnana and Kriya shakthi with the grace of  Girinandhini/daughter of Mount Himavan, ultimately they will attain the supreme abode which is difficult to obtain, therefore let us  praise the glories of  Goddess Durga who is Shivapriya/who is the darling of Lord Shiva, let us meditate upon Goddess Durga ! I shall meditate upon Goddess Durga who is smeared in highly fragrant red sandal wood paste and vermilion, she has immense valor, she is decked in various ornaments, she is Prajavathi who is the mother of living beings and she is the provider of happiness, she is Yogeshvari, she is venerated with strict practices of Yoga, she is worshiped by the ardent followers of Yoga, she is wielded in powerful trident, she is the ruler of city of Thripura, she symbolizes Siddha, she represents wealth, fortune, power, might and all kinds of richness, she symbolizes the sacred syllables of Hreemkara, she is Shankari who is consort of Lord Shankara, she is Sharva who is seated on the lotus flower, she is eulogized by sacred hymns and Veda, she is Jaganmatha who is the mother of Universe, she is  Jagadamba who is the provider of final liberation, she is the source of Universe and its living beings, she gets pleased to passionate devotees who are surrendered to her, she blesses her ardent devotees with abundance of pieties, she is the safest haven to the distressed people who are surrendered at her lotus feet, she eradicates miseries and sorrows of the worshiper, she is safest refuge to the miserable and wretched people, she is safest ferry to the distraught people, she is beloved of  distressed people/Dheenamba, she is the shelter to the anxious people/ Dheenasharana, she is safest haven to the people who are surrendered at her lotus feet, she is venerable with folded hands, she is self manifested, she is worshiped with fresh alluring flowers, she sprung from illustrious clan, she get pleased with the performance of homage to ancestors, she is lustrous and resplendent, she has hundreds and infinite number of heads, she has obtained half of the body of Srikanda/Lord Shiva, she is unconquerable and she gets pleased to the sounds of triumph, she multiplies the glory of clan and accomplishes all the tasks for the welfare of the clan, her hands are Abhya and Varadha hastha postures that ensures the protection as well as showers abundances of boons to her worshiper, she is the provider of all kinds of happiness and fulfils all the desires of her ardent devotees, she is embodied as Prithvi and she carries the Earth in her womb, she is Vishvadhara who carries the whole Universe in her womb, she is the source of Universe and carries out the functions of the Universe, she is Vishvamaya who is great illusionist, she is the protector of Universe and its living beings, she is the female force of Padmanabha, she represents subjects of the Kingdom, she is mighty Goddess, she is Mahamoorthi, she is personified as Sathi and queen, she is the destroyer of all kinds of fears, she is Bhramamayi who symbolizes absolute Bhramam, she is supreme Goddess mounted on Universe supreme throne, she is supreme Goddess mounted on Lion/Simharooda, bull/Vrisharooda,  and horse/Ashvarooda, she provides shelter as well as various boons, she is most desirable and she symbolizes supreme bliss, she has supreme prowess and  the whole Universe depending on her prowess, she symbolizes welfare, wealth and  intellect.
