Surdas Maharaj speaks “The devotees of Lord Sri Rama represent Lord Sri Ramachandra, no matter the devotee is mendicant, or King. Lord Sri Rama does not look at the Gothra, caste, status, clan, fame, etc. of the devotees. Oh! Prabho, I am an ignorant one, I do not know the glories of Lord Bhrama or Lord Maheshwara, one thing is certain that you can’t tolerate the arrogance and ignorance, you abandon the impure and wicked drenched in Ahamkara, Mamakara, jealousy, ego, pride, desire, lust, anger, etc. The deities had the pride of their superiority over demons, they have met several troubles due to their swollen pride, even though you were too kind and protected them. Oh! Prabho, your child devotee Prahlada was born in the clan of demons, you have appeared as a half lion- half man in the pillar at the call of your devotee. Lord Sri Raghava was born in the clan of Raghu, Lord Krishna was born in Gokul, and he had never left the Vrindavan. Oh! Prabho, the deities, demons, and humans have attained your continuous grace, I shall repeatedly describe your various amusements, but I could not describe the splendor of your passionate devotees, it is beyond my words.  Oh! Prabho, your child devotee Dhruva was born in the Kshatriya clan, and your passionate devotee Vidura was born to a maidservant, you have never shown any partialities to your devotees. Oh! Prabho, it is a widely known fact that you are Bhakthvathsala/you are inseparable from your devotees, you are always at the call of your devotees. Oh! Prabho, Oh! Shyamasundhara, you are too amiable, during the Rajasuya Yajja of Yudhishtira, you have stood forefront to wash the leg of Sages and Rishis and Brahmanas. Oh! Prabho, how can I describe your glories? Oh! Shyamasundhara, I have only one tongue, but your glories are endless. Oh! Prabho, Veda, and scriptures are witnesses of your boundless mercy, virtue, and compassion.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, have you ever taken notice of the kindness and nobleness of Lord Sri Hari? take notice of the magnanimity of Lord Sri Hari who Sarveshwara Paramathma Parambhramam, all-pervasive Bhramam, the Lord of the Universe, protector of souls, Lord of animate and inanimate things, he is the ocean of mercy, he can’t bear to watch his devotees in distress. Oh! Jeeva, Lord Sri Krishnachandra is too gracious and forgiving, praises the teeny tiny virtues of his devotees to the size of Mount Mahameru, and consider their grave sins of ocean-sized into water bubbles. The Supreme Lord Sri Krishnachandra is pure, pleasant and bliss personified, even if you go afar from him, his lotus-like place remains cheerful while you get closer to him. He is Karunamaya/merciful, hence, relentlessly chases after his passionate devotees, he cannot bear the separation from his devotees, not even for a second. Oh! Jeeva, whoever afar from the practice of devotion and worship of Lord Sri Krishnachandra is unfortunate.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “ Oh! Prabho, you are too compassionate and kind to your devotees, and you have assumed various forms as per the desire of your devotees and rushed to their cries. Oh! Sri Hari, Oh! Dheenabandhu, the Veda, and scriptures highly eulogized your kindness to Jeeva. Oh! Prabho, the two sons of Lord Kubera became arrogant, they were drenched in worldly matters and lost their wisdom, further, they got cursed by Devarishi Narada and turned into a Yamalarjjuna tree. You have manifested as Lord Krishna and relieved them from the curse, got fastened to the mortal pastel by Devi Yasodha. Oh! Shyamasundara, your childhood friend Sudhama was fragile, clad in rugs approached you with a small bundle of puffed rice packed in ragged upper clothe, you have received him with great respect and love, consumed a handful of puffed rice, and showered an abundance of wealth and richness to his wife. Oh! Prabho, Gajaraj who was caught on the leg by a crocodile in the pond made a futile effort to get out of the mouth of it was miserably failed, deserted by friends, family at a certain point of time, he shrieked out of pain and called out for Lord Sri Hari, instantly, the compassionate Lord Sri Hari abandoned his Sri Vaikundam and the celestial vehicle Garuda and rushed to protect Gajaraja from the mouth of death. Oh! Prabho, Oh! Shyamasundhara you symbolize all art forms, you are the essence of wisdom and knowledge, even though you have undergone studies at the guidance of Sage Sandheepani, and you have offered marvelous ‘Gurudhakshina’, you have brought back the life of his one and only son from Yamaloka and pleased your preceptor. Oh! Sri Krishnachandra, Oh! Bhakthavathsala, Oh! Pathithapavana, Oh! Madhava, Oh! Prabho, I have no idea how many of the sinners like me have attained the grace of you, thereby achieved liberation from the sufferings and grief of worldly existence.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Yadhunatha/leader of Yadhuclan, you were most benevolent to Drona and Dhara who underwent severe austerities and penance contemplating upon your lotus feet and attained you as their son, you have promised that you would be born as the son of Nandhababa/Dhrona/ Yasodhara/Dhara, and engaged in various amusements in Gokul with the cowherds, took the cows and calves for grazing. Oh! Prabho, you are always been most promising to deities, you have incarnated as a half lion- half man and ripped off the heart of the demon King Hiranyakashipu and protected the child devotee Prahlada. Oh! Prabho, the demon King Bali won over the deities and conquered the three worlds, Devamatha Adithi was distressed to see her children/deities lose their glories and power, you have incarnated as Dwarf/Vamana, son of Adhithi and Sage Kashyapa, and approached Bali in the Yajja arena, seeking three strides of land. Bali miscalculated and considered you as an ordinary Vipra, you have measured the entire Universe in three strides, thus the deities regained their lost glories. Oh! Prabho, you have protected Gajendra who was left alone in the mouth of death, in this way, you have been the protector of the souls surrendered at your lotus feet, you have performed various amusements in order to protect your devotees from distress which is highly eulogized by Veda and scriptures. Oh! Prabho, your endless legends praising the compassion and grace of your passionate devotees and the reward of the practice of sincere devotion was eulogized in scriptures and Veda. Oh! Prabho, I am worn out of grief and sufferings of worldly existence, / grief caused by natural calamities, epidemic, flood, famine draught/ grief caused by interest in worldly matters, possession, richness, money, wealth, fame, children, wife, relatives and companion/ grief caused by fear of death, aging, illness, separation of beloved souls, etc. I have been listening to your endless glories and compassion, I shall surrender at your lotus feet yearning for your auspicious grace.”

 Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jagadeesh, you have always been protected your devotees, and reinstated the ‘Significance of Bhakti/devotion.” The demon King Hiranyakashipu harassed the entire world, his son Prahlada, a staunch devotee of Lord Sri Hari was determinedly spread the devotion at the lotus feet of Sri Hari, thereby undergoing constant threat and miseries from his father. Finally, at the crucial moment, all the deities lost hope to protect him from the hostility of his father, Lord Sri Hari rip opened the huge pillar to reinstate the glories of devotion, and protected his child devotee Prahlada. Oh! Prabho, Gajaraj was caught on the leg by a crocodile and he was calling out for help from his relatives and companions were proved futile, he was dragged inside the pond by the crocodile, finally, he shrieked out of pain and fear of death, called out for you was released from the mouth of the crocodile instantly. Oh! Shyamasundhara, Oh! Sukhadhama, you haven’t waited too long after hearing ‘Bhagavannama’, rushed to Gajaraj faster than the speed of the wind, thus leaving your supreme abode Sri Vaikund to protect the elephant. Oh! Prabho, Devi Dhraupadhi was humiliated in the large assembly of Kaurava, she was forcefully dragged on hair in the assembly and made an effort to undress her, she was made futile effort to protect her from the wicked Kaurava, has become helpless was called out for your help, Dusshasana who was in an effort to remove the clothes from the body of Devi Dhraupadhi was miserably failed to find the other end of the clothing, thus you have protected Devi Draupadhi with an abundance of clothing and protected her in the assembly of Kaurava. Oh! Prabho, the innocent Vipra Sudhama, your childhood friend was compulsorily sent by his wife to meet you in Dwaraka was received with great honor and open arms from the palace gate. You have removed his exhaustion, and forcefully taken out the bundle of flattened rice covered in a ragged clothe that was kept hidden by Sudhama, you have consumed a mouthful of that flattened rice and in return, you have offered an abundance of wealth and richness that excels Lord Indra. Oh! Prabho, you have encouraged the cowherds to worship Mount Govardhana instead of Lord Indra, it annoyed Lord Indra who was worshiped so long by the cowherds, he battered the Vraja with heavy downpour and disrupted the lives of cowherds. You have elevated the mount Govardhan on your little finger and protected the entire Braja, it multiplied your glories in the entire Universe. Oh! Prabho, your kindness and compassion dragged me towards you, though I am wicked and blind haven’t practiced sincere devotion at your lotus feet.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Karunasindho, how do I describe your kindness and compassion to Jeeva? The female demon Poothana assumed the form of a beautiful woman was approached you with an intention to kill you with her venomous bosom milk, but you have provided her the honor of your mother, the moment she fed you with her bosom, she got liberated from the grief and sufferings of worldly existence. The Veda and Upanishad describe the supreme Bhramam as Nirguna/attributeless with no specific appearance, that Sacchidhanandhaswaroopa Paramathma assumed the Sagunaswaroopa/form of a lovely child of Sri Nandhababa and Devi Yasodha on the sacred land of Braja, and performed various amusements and got tied on the mortal pastel by his mother. Oh! Prabho, you have become anxious to hear the troubles of King Ugrasena who was imprisoned by his own son Kamsa, you have fought against Kamsa and killed him, further crowned Ugrasena as the King of Mathura, and reverentially prostrated before him. Oh! Prabho, you have freed the Kings who were imprisoned by Jarasandha, the ruler of Magadha, and all those Kings freed from the prison sung in praise of your glories. Oh! Prabho, Devi Ahalya, wife of Sage Gautama turned into a rock due to the curse, you have liberated her at the touch of dust particles from your lotus feet, thus Devi Ahalya was liberated from the curse during your incarnation as son of King Dasaratha. Oh! Prabho, you have protected the sons of Pandu when they met huge trouble in the Lakshagriha/wax house, perpetrated by Duryodhana. You have rushed to Hasthinapur and once again safely brought the Pandavas to their own Kingdom, in this way, you have been rushing to protect your devotees from all the crisis, like a cow rush to its calf. Oh! Prabho, once Nandhababa was seized by the Varunapasha, you have rushed to protect him from Lord Varuna and safely brought him back. Oh! Prabho, Gajaraj/Gajendhra was caught on the leg by a crocodile and cried out for your help was liberated instantly. Oh! Prabho, In the Kali era, there was a passionate devotee Namadev Maharaj who fed you with his hands and achieved your compassionate grace. Oh! Prabho, you have always been too kind and compassionate to your devotees, unfortunately, I have not practiced sincere devotion at your lotus feet, kindly someone conveys my prayer to that supreme Lord Sri Krishnachandra.”

Sri Surdas  Maharaj speaks “Oh! Basudeva/Sri Krishnachandra, Oh! Jagathpitha/ Lord of the Universe, Oh! Jagadeesha/Lord of three worlds, Oh! Jagathguru/Universal preceptor, you are amiable, you are benevolent to your devotees, you have reverentially held the footprint of Sage Bhrigu on your chest and you have greeted him pleasantly while Lord Mahadeva and Lord Bhrama could not withstand the humiliation of Sage Bhrigu, they have prepared to retaliate him. Oh! Prabho, you have been too kind and compassionate to Sage Bhrigu even though he humiliated you, hence who will have the kindness of Lord Sri Hari? There is no deity benevolent as Lord Sri Hari. Oh! Prabho, Oh! Shyamasundhara, you are too kind to Jeeva, without expecting anything in return, you have formed an abundance of associates without any selfish motive, you are always willing to shower your compassionate grace upon them. Oh! Prabho, though Ravana was your enemy, you have protected his younger brother Vibheeshana who have taken shelter at your lotus feet and considered him as your younger brother Bharatha. Oh! Prabho, the female demon Poothana assumed the form of a beautiful woman and approached to kill you, fed you with her venomous bosom, in return have provided her your supreme abode Sri Vaikundam, liberated her from the sufferings of worldly existence. Oh! Lord of Surdas, Oh! Yadhukulanatha,/the protector of Yadhu clan, you are so gracious to Jeeva, you are always willing to shower compassionate grace on them.”

Surdas Maharaj speaks “ Oh! Prabho, the supreme Bhramam is unexplainable though it is perceivable, which is beyond words and intellect, like the speechless could not express the sweetness of the fruit, but can experience the greatest pleasure of consuming the same. The knowledge of all-pervasive Bhramam/  Athmathaththva, Oneness in all is beyond words, can be perceivable. The supreme Bhramam is Sacchidhanandhaswaroopa Paramathma/Sath – indestructible Purusha, Chithth- pure, unblemished, free from attributes of Rajasik, Sathvik, and Thamasik, Anandham – supreme bliss, reside as a soul in living beings, is pure, unblemished, eternal, changeless, has neither birth nor death. The soul is the source of the functioning of the mind, intellect, Karma and Gnanendhriyas, Prana/vital air, Chithth, and Ahamkara, but they are incapable to perceive the Bhramam. The Athmajjani/knower of Bhramam who undertakes strict austerities, penance, Shama, Dhamam, Sathyam, Dhaya, Dhanam, Astheyam, Ahimsa, Brahmacharya, Arjjavam, etc. perceives the Nirgunaswaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam and remain in extreme bliss. Finally, the Nirguna/free from the attributes, Nirakara/formless, Paramathma Parambhramam/Supreme Bhramam is beyond perception or words, hence who could describe them? Oh! Prabho, you are Nirgunaswaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam, I shall sing in praise of your marvelous legends of Sagunaswaroopa as Lord Krishna.”
