Sri Hari Sthothram – Lyrics & meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Hari who is the preserver of the Universe, he is decked in various precious ornaments and garlands, his forehead has the luster of autumn moon, he is the destroyer of demons, he has the complexion of dark clouds, he is a great illusionist, and he is dearest darling of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Hari who dwells in the milky ocean, he has attractive smile resemblance to fully blossomed flower, he is omnipresent, he has the brilliance of crores of Adithyas, he is wielded in mace and divine wheel, he is attired in majestic yellow garments and he has pleasing personality.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Hari who is adorned Goddess Rama on his chest, he is the essence of Veda, he reclines in water, he destroys the burden of mother Earth, he is eternal bliss, he is charismatic and he has various incarnations.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Hari who is unaffected by Jara/aging and Janma/birth, he is beyond description, he is serene, he is primordial, he is the cause for the origin of Universe, he is the cause for the victory of Suras, he is the commander of three worlds.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Hari who is eulogized by deities and Sages, he has Garuda/king of birds as celestial vehicle, he is the provider of salvation to his devotees, he crushes the pride of enemies, he is the provider of boons to his ardent devotees, he is the root of tree like Universe, he is the destroyer of sorrows and grief of his passionate devotees.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Hari who is the Lord of Lords, his attractive curly hair locks has the appearance of honey bees and the entire Universe has the partial appearance of his shadow, he dwells in the sky like hearts of his devotees, he has divine appearance, he is free from attachments and desires, and he dwells in Sri Vaikundham.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Hari who is most valorous among the deities, he is the Lord of the three worlds, he is supreme preceptor, he is supreme Lord, he is skillful in warfield, he is fearless, he is unaffected by the Samsara.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Hari who is with Goddess Mahalakshmi on  his left, he reclines on the serpent Anantha, he is the symbol of Yaga, he is most desirable to ascetics, he is eulogized by Sages and Rishis, he is surrounded by all the deities, he is beyond Thrigunas.
