Sri Kunjjavihara Ashtakam - Lyrics and meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Krishna who has the luster of  the precious gem Indhraneela, he is decked in Kadamba flowers on his ears, Vanamala/flowers from the woods on his broad chest, he is charismatic,  Victory to Kunjjavihari who dwells in the beautiful house made of creepers.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Krishna who is soaked as Chakora bird in the lustrous face of Radhikarani that releases intense sheen of full moon, he lures the hearts of beautiful young maidens of Vraja, Victory to Kunjjavihari who is a little thief  dances to the tunes of the cowherds of Vraja.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Krishna who crushed the pride of Lord Indhra by putting an end to the Yaga which was conducted to please him.  Victory to Kunjjavihari who effortlessly raised the Mount Govardana with his little finger in order to protect the cowherds of Gokula,  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Krishna  who beautifully plays melodious music on his divine flute and entice the cowherds of Vraja,  Victory to Kunjjavihari who has various glorious myths,  eulogized by the beautiful young maidens of Vraja.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Krishna who is attired in golden colored majestic clothes, Victory to Kunjjaviharai who is decked in the feathers of peacock on his attractive curly  hair locks and lures the hearts beautiful young maidens of Vraja.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Krishna who is decorated with the fragrant paste of vermilion; he is decked in golden waist belts, Victory to Kunjjavihari who takes immense pleasure like an elephant in the glacier that resembles to the high raised bosom of Radharani.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Krishna who is smeared in fragrant paste beautifully decorated on his lustrous forehead; he is decked in garlands made of Chembaka which keeps dangling on his chest, Victory to Kunjjavihari who constantly in search of young maidens of cowherds in the peaks and caves.    I shall mediate upon supreme Lord Krishna who marvelously dances with immense passion and movements of eyes, in that way he takes away all the attentions of the women of the cowherd family who are engaged in their household works, Victory to Kunjjavihari who is highly enthusiastic and fond of sacred river Kalindhi.

Whoever reads or listens to the Kunjjavihara Ashtakam which describes the amorous sports of Lord Krishna, would attain the Paramapadham with the blessing of Kunjjavihari.
