Sri Adi Narayana Sthothram - Lyrics and meaning

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

Rishi speaks “I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Narayana who is the symbol of auspiciousness, he is supreme ascetic, he is Lord Janardhana who is the controller of the Universe, he is Lord Sridhara who has complete authority on wealth and he is the essence of sacred Veda.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Narayana who is decked in magnificent crown decorated with precious gems, he is Lord Keshava/who has beautiful hair locks, and he has colossal as well miniscule form.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Narayana who is most desirable to virtuous people, he has lotus flower on his navel, he is the remover of illusion in his devotees, and he is slayer of stealer of Vedas.  I shall prostrate before Lord Achyutha  and Anantha as well, he gave birth to Hiranyagarbha/Lord Bhrama, and he is the cause of the Universe.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Narayana who is the authority of creation, preservation and destruction of the Universe, he is embodied as Universe and controls its function, he is knower of all, he is the provider of intellect to cross the ocean of Samsara, whoever recite the sacred names of Lord Vasudeva would be freed from sins, Dhaithyas will disappear like could.  Lord Vishnu eradicate all the sins of his ardent devotees in the same manner annihilates the demons for their wickedness.  It is definite that whoever remember Lord Vishnu would be relieved from their sins, and all their wickedness will be destroyed, whoever remember the sacred names of Lord Vasudeva with utmost devotion would be liberated from all those wickedness and sins, he is Jagadhathri and Lord of the Universe, Oh! Mortals, remember the sacred names of Lord Vasudeva who is the Lord of the Universe, he dwells in Bhoothalam, Rasathalam, Anthareeksham, etc…, it would provide all kinds of Siddhis, he is omnipresent, whoever remember the sacred names of Lord Vasudeva who is the cause of the Universe would remain blessed.”

“Oh! Mortals, Whoever recites or listens to the above sacred verses on Ekadashi would obtain the merit of Ashwamedha and lakhs of cows donated to bhramin, and they would attain the auspicious gaze of Lord Govinda.  Whoever ardently devoted to Lord Adi Narayana and place him in their hearts would remain blissful, whoever undertakes veneration of supreme Lord Narayana on Sunday of Ekadashi after dip in holy water, would be relieved from worldly bondage and perils. Oh! Devi, I have narrated the splendor of Lord Vishnu, whoever listens to the above would be relieved from sins and poverty.”
