Sri Thulasi Kavacha Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

The sacred hymns of armor of Goddess Sri Thulasi  is composed by Rishi Mahadeva, it has Anushtup as Chandhass, presiding deity is Goddess Sri Thulasi, it is recited to attain all kinds of well beings. 

Dhyanam –
I shall always meditate upon Goddess Sri Thulasi  who is the darling of Lord Vishnu, she is the provider of various boons to her worshiper, she is appeared from the nectar like woods of Thulsi plant, she is beloved of Lord Keshava.



Lord Bhrama speaks “ I shall prostrate before  Goddess Thulasi who is personified as Srimahadevi, she carries lotus flower in her hands.  Let my head remains protected by Goddess Sri Thulasi, let my forehead protects by Yashasvini/who is prominent, let my eyes protects by Padmanayana/who has eyes resembles to lotus flower, let my ears protects by Srisakhi/who is the closest associate of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, let my nose protects by Sugandha/who has rich fragrance, let my face protects by Sumukhi/who is gorgeous, let my tongue protects by Supadha/who is the symbol of speech and clarity in words, let my throat protects by Vidhyamayi/who is the symbol of wisdom and knowledge, let my shoulders protects by Kalharini/doer of good, let my heart protects by Vishnuvallabha/darling of Lord Vishnu, let my chest protects by Punyadha/who symbolizes devout act, let my navel protects by Saubhagyadhayini/who is the provider of all the auspiciousness, let my waist areas protects by Kundalini/who dwells in the divine Srichakra, let my thighs protects by Naradhavandhitha/who is worshiped by Maharishi Narada, let my ankles protects by Janani/Mother of the Universe and its living beings , let the down portion of my knee protects by Sakalavandhitha/who is venerated by all, let my feet protects by Narayanapriya/who is beloved of Narayana and all my body parts remains protected by Sarvarakshini/who is the protector of the Universe and its living beings, let Goddess Thulsi protects us during the hours of miseries, grief, obstacles, fear, illnesses, perils etc…let Goddess Sri Thulsi protects us all the time during hours of dawn, noon and dusk as well.  The above are the sacred verses of armor of Goddess Sri Thulasi, it is highly confidential, armor of Goddess Sri Thulasi is like a nectar to the distressed and shelter for the people who are afflicted with fears, it provides Moksha to the virtuous people who yearn for it, and Dhyanayoga to people who undertakes meditation/ Dhyanayogis, it provides attractiveness to people who is fond of lure the hearts, it provides supreme wisdom and knowledge to the intellectuals and people prominent in reciting Vedas.  It provides wealth and grains to the poor people, it destroys the sins of the wicked, it provides meals for the people who are lacking the same, and it provides the celestial abode to the righteous people who yearn for it.  It provides domesticated animals to the people who earn for it, it provides virtuous offspring to the childless couple, it reinstates the Kingdom and glories, it provides peace of mind to the people who are restless, it provides sincere devotion at the lotus feet of Vishnu.  Whoever reads or listens to the above sacred verses would obtain righteousness, wealth, desire and all kinds of auspiciousness to Grihastha, ultimately it would bring the worshiper to my abode of Sathyaloka,  it is recited with folded hands during the hours of end of moon rays/early dawn, sitting in the garden of Thulasi, it would fulfill all the desires of the worshiper, it is my favorite hymn which provides sincere devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Hari.  The female who gives birth to still born child, females who have problems in conceiving child should be caressed with sacred grass/Kusha infused with sacred hymns, they  would obtain offspring with long life and good health, whoever recites these sacred hymns sitting under the banyan tree would become favorite of King, sitting near the pond and chanting the sacred hymns provides beauty, sitting under the Palasha tree and recite the sacred hymns would bring supreme wisdom and knowledge,  sitting facing Lord Adithya and reciting theses sacred hymns would  bring effulgence, whoever desired for female child should recite these glorious verses in the temple of Goddess Chandika, whoever wish to eradicate enemies should recite these verses at home, whoever desires for Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi/wealth should recite these verse in the temple of Lord Vishnu, and whoever desires to lure the hearts should recite these verses in garden.  The meritorious rewards provides by the armor of Goddess Sri Thulsi are endless, it is capable to fulfils all the desires of the worshiper.”
